This is a converted motel but it is beautifully remodeled. Not a five star resort but the furniture is better than average and the flooring is great. The kitchen has everything...not always true at timeshares any more. No coffee but we planned ahead so that wasnt a problem. Pool area is nice and lots of chairs. Visible Covid procedure: tp and paper towels both still wrapped, super clean bathrooms. Plan ahead for late night check in. Took us a minute to get someone on the phone with the right code for the lock box. Easy enough...just a pain at 2 am
This resort is on the quieter end of Estero Island. We had a quiet and relaxing week. We were 2 miles from Lovers Key State Park that had a nice beach area, or about a half mile walk around the condo complex to get to the ocean. We spent most mornings sipping coffee on our screened porch and afternoons by the pool right out our back door. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was the vacation we needed.
Friendly, attentive, and very helpful staff (especially Christina). Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Kitchen is well stocked with a full size dishwasher and washer/dryer. The pool is nice and good for families or people without kids. We will definitely stay again!
Never had any contact with any employees after checking in because they were never there. We checked in on a Saturday ask for a lower when we made the reservations I have serious back problems when we arrived was told no they were completely sold out Sunday morning elevator was out of order and I had to walk down three flights of stairs attempted to call front office nobody was there Monday it was still out attempted to call front office nobody was there it is a much older building although you can tell they try to keep it up on the surface but I think the bones of the building have an issue the unit we were and you could see the floors were warped probably from water damage there was a hole in the wall by the water heater and the second bedroom had two twin beds in it but they were almost like they were on a frame not a real bed frame would not recommend an adult sleeping in those twin beds most places we have stayed at including Plano hotels allow you in the pool and or the hot tub till at least 10 at night they Closed Doors Down When the Sun Goes Down at the South End of the island so you have to drive quite a distance to get beach access just not worth the money
Staff was very friendly and amenities were fine. The place was not clean. I had to clean the mirrors in the bathrooms, wipe down the walls in the kitchen, and the broom was so dirty and worn out, my husband got a new broom from house keeping. We had hard flat pillows, my husband needed extra pillows and pulled them from the closet. He woke the next morning with bites all over both sides of his face. Oh, and the place mats for the dinner table were really dirty too.We liked the location though, it would have been nice if it was cleaner.
My family and I came here because one of my family members have a time share here, overall it is very clean and laid back here, no one breathing down your neck or making you feel uncomfortable no matter where you are in this place. Of course the kids were in the pool most of the time and the beach is a hop, skip, and a jump away as well, though it is across the street and not directly behind the building. There are a couple places nearby but overall the main part of the beach is miles down so your not gonna plan on just walking over to the main part of the beach or the main restaurants and other resorts. But overall I would definitely recommend this location if your a local, or you just want to get away during the winter time from up north, either way this place is a win win. Again, if your wanting to be closer to the main square look elsewhere, but if you want to just get away and hide out in the cut for a while, LOOK NO FURTHER! As always thank you for your time and consideration in viewing my humble opinion of these places. See Ya Soon!
Great Location. Great Staff. Friendly Guests. What more could you ask for?
Very clean. Great location. Friendly staff
Really needs to be zero stars. Just got back home from staying there a week and the 4th night we were there I got beat up in the pool area. The night before many people called about very loud group in the pool at 1am in the morning, condo stated there was nothing they can do about call the police. So very next night the same group was out the partying again making lots of noise so my wife called the police. She then woke me up other vacationers were telling the group to be quite and then the group starting yelling back at them and cursing at them. So I went out to the pool to tell them to keep it down and after doing so the entire group jumps out the pool and starts hitting my wife and I. The cops were already called 30 minutes prior to this and were still not there. So after about 7 minutes of getting beat up by 4-5 individuals some other residents broke it up. Cops eventually show up arrest 2 of the people. The next day the same people start trouble again at the pool during the day, finally the resorts kicks the people out. After all this was said and done Tropical Sands had the police report an they never reached out to us to make sure we were ok or anything. I plan on sending them all my hospital bills and filling a law suit. I have been an owner for 38 years and never will I come here again. There is no security and will no protect their guest against other violent guest. The police followed up with me today and informed the entire group was part of the MS-13 Gang.
It was a great resort to stay at employees are very nice
Each day the stay gets worse and worse. The toilet has not worked the entire stay. No answer when you call for a fix. Patio doors dont lock. Updates to come.
Best kept secret in ft Meyers. Very friendly staff and perfect size resort. The peace and quiet and charm of this small get away is also located close enough to many activities and places to eat. We absolutely loved our stay here. The pool was great, we used the free bikes to take a beautiful bike ride, and also enjoyed the beach. We would definitely stay here again.
Love this place. Come here every year with my uncle for Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks. Lots of great people and staff is wonderful.
We love the resort and have been going for many years. It’s nice to see that things are being updated. Love the pool and activities at the pool area.
The beach access is further then adv & Waterlines project ?.6 years Fort Myers whats up with that
For 20 years our Pittsburgh and Erie family has enjoyed a mid-winter escape to Tropical Sands and Fort Myers Beach. The resort has just the right amount of amenities (pool, jacuzzi, bikes, beach chairs, location near shops & restaurants at the quiet, south end of the Beach) without being pretentious. Comfortable, equipped units. Great value! Great place to make lifelong memories.
Weve been staying here off and on for 6 years. This is a decent place with all the amenities families need. The price for a weeks stay is very reasonable and the recent (and very needed) updates make the property more desirable to stay in. The furniture will be updated next from what we were told. Typically the resort is quiet but said updates have made the place noisy.
It is a beautiful place. Maintained very well, great place to go
This was a great place. Quiet time of the tourist season. A few restaurants nearby were open. The pool was nice.
Nice resort with large condos & beautiful pool. Quiet.
Comes with everything you need. Kitchen utensils, bath and pool towels. Very clean and friendly employees! Plenty of parking and even an alligator in the pond.
Very clean and well kept rooms spacious pool area comfortable.
Very nice place to spend a weeks vacation. Tropical Sands is a place that is well kept.
Great place for a relaxing, quiet retreat and within walking distance of the white sand beach. The pool is nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall, a great place to stay if youre looking for a relaxing get away.
Never seen so many people complain about everything. Hate all the surgar ants they get into all your food even though pest control comes it doesnt help. Need to update the furniture. Its been the same furniture for 30 years
Awesome place!
Nice older place to stay had to drive to beach
Lovely place with a homey vibe. Built before the condos across the street that now block the gulf view but you can access beach from public entrance. Activities for residents are planned. It’s older but updated nicely. Trolleys come by to give rides down Estero and don’t miss the local nature trails and Moundhouse. All very close. Great for people who love fishing too. Pool with beach chairs you can borrow and bikes as well. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Six guests fit in condo with fully stocked towels and supplies.
Tropical sands is a very nice place! Jackie in the office is such a sweetheart helping with all your needs. Pat who does maintenance works hard around the place. love the free bikes to ride and chairs for the beach to use at no charge.
A few years ago it was great but this time there were so many issues. Dirty dishes and broken springs in the master bed sticking out of the side and scratched my leg getting in and out of bed. These were just a few things.
My family has been vacationing in Fort Myers for years, and Tropical Sands Resort has always been our number one choice for stay. The rooms are very spacious and always clean. There is a private walkway for the guests to use to go across to the beach, and its really not very far to get to the public ocean beach area.
Nice small resort located on Ft. Myers Beach. Roadwork on main road at northern end of island before downtown area makes travel interesting at times. Construction to continue for 3 more years. Beach located on opposite side of roadway difficult to get to but good for shelling but thats about it.
Not very clean, dirty sheets dirty dishes, the kitchen area was very dirty, everything else was ok.
A little outdated!
Quiet, relaxing however as stated by another vacationer they scrimped a lot. Master shower isnt finished out, half of wall sockets are dangerous as the plugs arent gripped and actually hang loosely in sockets, 2nd bath wallboard screws arent finished out, wall patches throughout unit are not blended in, and beds are like sleeping on wood. Like I said though, great place if you want peace, quiet, and relaxation.
Great place to stay with very friendly staff.
Loved the units. All 2 bedrooms and very spacious. Only 2 units have view of the Gulf. Nice pool and hot tub. It is a bit of a walk to the beach.
Tropical Sands is a great place to vacation! Heated pool and you meet some great people. The units are updated, for the most part and new flooring. A work in progress and the Board has done a fanrastic job!
Not the cleanest place but very friendly mgmt and great pool. Just across street from gulf beach all folks are very nice
Front desk was friendly. Room was clean. We did have to plug in our water heater but thats not the end of the world. Pool area is clean. Recently updated most fixtures. I just wish there where other routes to reserve rooms with them.
At first we thought this was such a cute retro resort, then our bathroom ceiling began to leak. The events that followed killed the better part of one day of our vacation and sadly, the resort didn’t seem to care nor could anyone be bothered to communicate with us. We’d already noticed the eveidence that the ceiling had leaked before, but assumed it had been fixed. When we reported the leak, we were told that maintenance would be right up. Two hours later, the unconcerned clerk at the office told us our “ticket” was in the repair queue and that if maintenance was in our unit they would leave a note on the door. Long story short - at 4:00 we noticed the bathroom counter had been dried. No note on the door. No communication from the office. When we inquired the clerk said “I don’t know if it’s fixed. Maintenance isn’t required to report to me.” She simply did not care.
Wonderful week, saw so much improvement over the years actually ended up purchasing. Great deals.
Its a great place, we got a great rate of $800 a week. It has a nice pool and is kept up. We have no complaints. Definitely would recommend to friends and family!
Had a great vac
Let me start by saying that the rooms are nice and the prices are very good. We go on vacation every year in Florida and this was the worst by far. There was some type of bugs that ate myself and my kids up. I was told that the bugs are all over Florida every year and that they couldnt do anything about it. Which this is the first year we have had this problem.I was told that the beach was a short walk which turned out to be almost a quarter mile walk. Then to top it all off when we left I forgot my watch on the window seal in the master bedroom. When I noticed that I had left it my wife called that evening and was told that there was no watch found and that I was mistaken that I most of packed it in my things. . A watch is not something that is packed in luggage. The only reason it took so long for me to realize that I was missing the watch is because my kids had gotten sick so I was trying to take care of them.We called back on Monday to see if they had found it and was told that there was nothing to do and to leave them alone about the watch and to get over it and get a life out was just a watch. It just seemed very unprofessional and with it only being the second time calling.I understand that some people dont value things like others but to not even check or ask your staff is beyond me. Wi be spending a little more for better customer service.
Nice property located on the south end of the beach. Comfortable beds and furniture.
Did not have good access to the beach. Actually, very poor. Office closed after 5 pm and on weekends. Had to provide shampoos, paper towels, etc. Things usually provided. Had nice pool. Rooms old, but large. Not as clean as expected.
Not a bad spot.. But everywhere i turn i see corners cut. Example air conditioning unit not connected or hooked up properly, celing fans poorly mounted and way off balance, screen work on balcony. Quite expensive for some poor structure
Hard to get into for parking rooms clean, not a real good view of the gulf. Not a bad stay just not a good one either
Very nice resort.
Enjoyed our stay. Very nice room.
Something is always updated every year. The rooms are large and beautiful and very well kept. The staff is freindly and always happy. Always enjoy coming here and will always come back.
Nice rooms, they have bikes on site and board games, relatively close to the beach. A little too many smokers staying there though...
The accomadations were clean and the property was well kept. Nice pool and walking distance to the beach.
Always so much fun to go to our timeshare here all though they could add more stuff to do it would be better like an arcade or a little market with different food companys
I love Tropical Sands! The outside looks alittle old, but the room we were are in is so nice! Perfect amount of space for our party of 4. Only gripe is access to the beach across the street can be difficult due to private beaches
Great place ... outside has been updated ...new flooring has been installed inside ... pool is one of the largest on the Blvd ...1200 SQ ft of great living space
We have a time share 2 weeks that weve had for about 4 years. I love going every year. The staff is really friendly and will go out of their way to help you with what ever you need
Nice condo, good room sized and great pool
Older but comfortable inexpensive and well located.
Great resort . needs to be updated tho
This place is awesome and Ive only been here for 2 days!
Rooms were nice and spacious. Love that the rooms were around the pool.
Well laid out rooms, the screened in balcony is a treat, nice pool, close to beach, good WiFi
This is a nice resort with decent amenities. Great location!
Excellent Staff, nice weekly events, updated WiFi access in each room, no more put put Internet, nice friendly guests & owners, awesome grills, hot tub & pool with beach access across the street. Bikes available for first come use & on the end of Estero not needing constriction work.
Amazing place to stay.
Best resort we stayed at yet the facilities were excellent
Old,. But roomy resort.
The location is wonderful. The parking however is a bit cramped
No beach access, closest public beach access is about 4 miles and $2.00 per person. It also does not have beach views.
Wonderful staff!
All the comforts of home. Not right on the beach.
Great service, good breakfast, nice rooms. Cant complain!
Been coming here for 18 years and it just keeps getting better and better!!!!
