Its more love than hate.Place is renovated, so it a old style kind of a European style, vacation hotel.Yes it may not be modern but it makes up in incredible service and friendly staff.It contained one of the most incredible Sun Deck and Restaurant view. Nothing cones close. Its just 2 steps, really, to the actual beach. Good amount of bar and activity, even with the pandemic safety measure.The food, above anything in the area.

Had a great time here! I know that this is a resort and you guy have a lot of things going on but, you have to do better for your football fans. My Steelers fans, (I know ugh), really wanted to see their game. ( Either in the room or at the bar)The service at the bar was great (as usual) the renovations are coming along great! Keep up the good work.

Visited during November. Loved everything about it! We enjoyed 2 of the restaurants and the coffee shop. Room was clean and well decorated. Amazing view of the Gulf of Mexico. Close to shopping and water activities too!

During spring break time Lani Kai is a spring break destination for the area. Lots of fun contests for the college community. During the rest of the year the top of the building is a cute restaurant with live music and great vibes. Staff is friendly and there’s lots of hang out options.

What an amazing place with a staff that truly cares not only about its guests but its enviroment as well. Paper straws, making sure the sea turtles can do what they do..... I cannot say enough about how above and beyond the staff went for me. I dropped my phone off the 3rd floor balcony to an awning at 5 am the security guy was retrieving it for me with a pool brush. Thats some serious customer service.

I think everyone knocks the Lani kai...but secretly loves it... Im personally a big fan of cocktails on the beach... And by far the best rum runners on the beach...thats right top of mast I said it... Lani kai is more of a younger crowd just my type of scene... Although lani has a mean reputation for being nasty... Ive never stayed in one of there rooms... But the sky bar restaurant and staff have always been pleasant. Sorry I couldnt give 5 stars... Maybe clean the place up a bit...even a fresh coat of paint.

Almost everything about this hotel is fun and beachy. Staff is friendly, great beach vacation. What I didnt know before I booked was that this is a smoke friendly hotel. While you cannot smoke in the room, smoking is OK every where else. The Sun Deck restaurant is awesome, for the view, the food is good, etc. But your meal is seasoned with a heavy dose of other people smoking while you are trying to eat. Same with the balcony. While you want to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view and the weather you are absolutely being inundated with breathing cigarette smoke... and the sound of people hacking and coughing from the cigarettes they are smoking! For those reasons, I will not stay here again. Its a shame because it is a fun hotel, but I just cannot subject myself to this constant assault on breathing fresh air.

Love this resort! Our room was clean, a good size with a great view! Very nice staff, especially Brian in security. Rooftop dinner was excellent. Tons of restaurants within walking distance. We will definitely be returning.

I had lunch at the restaurant on the top floor and it was a great experience. The food was ok nothing to special but the view was worth it. The tables have swing chairs and that made the experience very nice. I also attended a Halloween party downstairs a few years back and it was a great time. The drink prices were reasonable and the music was lively. I have not stayed at the rooms.

Great quirky place right on the beach you cant beat the location or the view from the rooms. Its all their shopping dining drinking the beach all at the same Resort

Alfredo chicken was very good with garlic bread. Service was a little slow but staff was attentive especially the lady cleaning the tables.

If you are in Fort Myers you must stay here if you want to have a good time. Across the street is an excellent taco shop called Yo Taco. You can eat there, walk across the street, and come back to the ultimate experience which Lani Kai always holds. Thank you so much to all of the staff and employees that have made this visit the best ever. THE new paint and murals on the outside of the building are so uplifting. We will be back for many years to come.

I would recommend this place to people it was super clean, great location and enjoyable we wanted to stay another night. They got us another night just had to switch rooms once we got into our new room some other family came in. what if we werent in there? How do you put two families in one room? nicely they got us a new room just alittle worried after that for someone to come in. If you like quiet this wouldnt be the place for you a night with loud people and cars. For being a private beach about 5 in the morning I saw a women on a bike going through things and looking through things on the beach. For being a resort I wouldve wanted just alittle more security to look for sketchy people like that. I would definitely come back, loved it!

We stayed here for our honeymoon and everything was wonderful. The staff is very friendly, housekeeping comes every day to check and see if you need anything, food was amazing, drinks are pretty pricy if it’s not happy hour, but that’s to be expected for a resort. Security everywhere to be sure everything is okay and no one gets too out of hand. Very relaxing place. Very clean. No complaints! Also very accommodating! Our reservation with Travelocity got messed up but they were able to fix the mistake with no problem. We will be back for sure!

Heard kinda bad thing from people prior to our stay, but turned out to be great. Place has had a bad record but they are doing everything to make it a nice place to stay.. rooms are clean, drinks are good, food is good....Brian, the security guard took time out of his day to talk to us and give is any info we needed...we would stay again for sure.

I love the Lani Kai. I have so many good memories here. Been here for spring break twice. Rooftop restaurant with breakfast prices you cannot beat. Room service could be better.

I think the resort is super cute, but the atmosphere is full of... childish adults. If you have children, and do not wish they see certain adult behaviors, please choose another resort. Otherwise, I thought it was pretty okay and liked the food from the restaurant below, despite it being a little too expensive for my familys taste.

I really have no complaints at all about my stay. This was a convenient location. Beachfront views, shopping and great dining. Staff were friendly. Rooftop restaurant staff didnt interact much, maybe because of covid, not sure.

My husband and I celebrated our 9 year Anniversary here at Lani Kai! We had an amazing time. The staff/security/bartenders abs wait staff were very friendly. We will definitely be coming back!

Great Location, right off of the bridge. Very happening place, at least thats what I think the kids are calling it these days! The rooms are clean, fairly spacious and very convenient to everything. There are 5 or 6 restaurants and/or snack places right on property. Tere are 2 or 3 little beach shops that have a variety of things, from sundries to notions and souvenirs. They even will give a small discount on clothing, I haggled for a cute beach dress and got $10 off at the front shop. The front desk staff are very friendly, especially Jacob. He was the one who booked my reservation and he was exceptional! We booked last minute to visit family and he was able to offer a very competitive rate for our room! I will definitely be going back, if Im ever in the area! The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the overall atmosphere was kinda loud( we had a baby with us). But this would have been a draw, in other circumstances. I was told this was a spring break hotel, and I could understand how that would have been the case except there were also families there and the DJ on the beach was accommodating to all ages!

Me and my husband stayed for one night and it was my husband’s first time to Lani Kai. We were told to go to the rooftop restaurant so we did. The hostess did not look like they were in good spirits at all and when I said it was our first time there I wanted an outside seat and we would wait if we needed. She made it like we were going to wait forever for a table so we caved and took the table that was available. She sat us by the. Coolers and were swarmed with bugs. The best part was about five minutes after we sat we noticed two very young boys getting an amazing table by the water!? I was confused as to why the hostess would say we would be waiting forever when obviously there was a table just getting up. Those tables should be first available to the guests who are actually staying there and paying good money too as well. It took forever to get greeted at the table that by the time she got to us we ordered two rounds of drinks because of how long it took I only saw one waitress and there should have been more people helping her. She was great considering what she was handling. I do feel like a lot of people coming from the street are given the same luxuries as the guests that are paying to stay there. Makes me not want to waste my money and stay somewhere cheaper. The room was beautiful other than the sandy floor that I swept myself. I also paid for a king room which was more money I asked for a late check out and was denied but heard others getting late check outs with cheaper rooms. Beach was of course beautiful but wasn’t so impressed. I asked about some dates coming up for pricing and really considering staying somewhere else.

I visited the beach area. Tons of activities. Great beach. Adult alcoholic beverages, food, water craft rentals, para-sailing. Lots of fun for those who like this sort of thing. If you like a beach all to yourself, go a mile in either direction but not here :)

Best last minute place for a room. The price was awesome. Brunch cannot beat it either$3 screwdriver, mimosa and bloodymerry cant go wrong. Did a late check out for only $20 are you kidding me. Never saw that coming I was expecting the price to be higher. Again this was a last minute booking and we enjoyed it. I will visit again.

I didnt stay in the hotel but did eat at the property. The top floor restaurant offers outstanding views and very good food. Unfortunately, my waitress had one of the worst attitudes Ive seen.Happy hour at Lani Kai is the best in the area! Great food choices and outstanding drink specials and often very good live music make it a top choice.My biggest complaint is that the bars and restaurant in this aging hotel smell musty and appear run down. The top floor outdoor bar manager sat down and propped his foot on top of the open liquor bottle spouts - it seemed to be a common practice and didnt phase him in the least.

This was our second time staying at Lani Kai and our first experience was so much better! We were woken up every morning at 7am by the crew remodeling the rooms right next to ours...power tools and all. The maintenance and housekeeping crew felt it necessary to yell to eachother down the hall and hold very loud conversations right outside our door, right by the elevator every morning as well. We were woke at 3am by a fre alarm which thankfully was a false alarm but had us up until 4am. We went an entire day with no air in our room because it broke down...but was fixed the same day. Lastly we requested a late checkout the day we arrived...hoping to spend a few extra honeymoon hours in paradise and was told it wasnt possible. On the brighter side, our room was clean and cozy with amazing views and the staff was great for the most part. The restaurants were good too but overall we were disappointed this time around

Plenty to do here! Has two great rooftop restaurants. One is fine dining, one is a bit more casual. The lower level on the beach features a couple bars as well with live music lay into the evening. The rooms are clean with full amenities. All of the rooms also feature beachfront views.

My family and i booked two rooms (we thought 3 but they only reserved the 3rd room ) at the lani kai from 10/27 to 11/2. On arrival we found out about the room mishap and decided to double up in the rooms. No biggie. The room itself had a balcony with a sliding door you could see on the outter door it was broken into multiple times. But they put a lock on top of the door so it was still able to be secured... sketchy but alright. We chose to still enjoy our first vacation as a family the beach was beautiful. After walking with my children to the pier and finding multiple people appearing to be on drugs and asking for money and food i realized we werent in a great area for families. Upon leaving the resort our card was charged 2 times for 156.10 with no explanation from the workers. And my parents card was hacked for 300 after using it at the 7/11 across the street. Shady business in a bad neighborhood. If you are looking for a family vacation i would not recommend this. Ghetto at best. Stole from by the resort itself and surrounding stores. We will be disputing the charges and getting lawyers involved if necessary. Save yourself the headache.

Took my parents for their first time tonight. Our waiter moe was great went out if the way to take us. And when I fell sick he quickly got the food boxed bagged and rushed back to the table thank you...

It is the best location on the beach, and the staff were always very nice. But having a nightclub on site was a little hard to sleep at night. So, we just turned our air conditioner and the fan helped a little bit. The mornings were wonderful, I miss my balcony already!

Only gave a 2 because the view of ocean is great but we will never go back. Paid xtra to be in main hotel, thru their booking comp and had extra fee there. Our a/c in room didnt work well and breakfast was terrible.Did l mention none of vending machines nor ice machine worked? Very disappointed.

Love this hotel. So much to do. In fact we were married there and the weddings on the beach are absolutely stunning. I basically felt like I had my own wedding planner. They are there for you down to every detail. Since tgen I became handicapped and it was the perfect place to go. Everything right there, no need to go anywhere else unless you want variety. Would recommend time and time again

Liked the place nice view of the ocean. If you like garlic try the garlic fries you will not be disappointed, but be cautious of the blooming onion, it is topped with fries, ham, and queso and one needs to dig for the onion. Wait staff was pleasent and attentive, though you will get tired, as you could tell the staff were, of the overly drunk vacationers staying at the hotel. I applaud the staff for staying pleasant through the stuff I saw that they had to put up with.

Historic hotel originally opened in 1921, located on north end of beach. Family owned and ran for decades! Still walks his property daily. Staff is knowledgeable, helpful and hard working. They got it right for happy, fun energy...from the murals covering the entire building(s) to several food, shopping, and bar options on site. Best is dining on the roof in one of their swinging tables! Ave you ever had a large Starbucks coffee delivered via room service for $3? No room svc charge and no auto tip!Dont forget your dog and kids because they are extremity dog friendly, and have a full playground and picture props for the kids. The beach was clean with lots of vendors for water sports. We stayed 2 nights and only left to go next door to eat.Parking is free but may have to park across street in their overflow lot.Cannot begin to recommend another hotel with this level of relaxing, beach ambiance.

The decor was dated but the views and the prices of happy hour made up for that! Great staff and service were top notch. Every room is ocean view! Bring earplugs to nap with as the music is playing all the time. Great atmosphere and nice people all around.

Great place to stay or just hangout. Good food, several restaurants. Skyview restaurant had great food and a great view of the island. We met Bob the owner. Him and his wife are the original owners of 42 years. Lots of music, nice pool

I love this place for the beach and the ambience of a party place. When the beach bar reopens get the Miami Vice with the extra shot in the straw. Youll want to drink more than two, but two is truly enough. After two, you wont remember your visit here.

We had a great room with a view of the beach. Furniture was darling.. very beach. Room was clean!!! They sanitize and no one goes back in room u til you do!!! A lot of bars were closed. Masks mandatory. Drinks on beach. Staff friendly.

Worst experience ever, I would give a zero star rating. I paid for a room when I got there the security told me I didnt have room escorted to the check in where he found I did.. I was very much disrespected, then he took me to the room. I decided to go down to the beach to walk the beach. Can you believe I rented a jail cell they kicked me out for leaving the room in fact I wasnt even on the property when they ran up on me with fash lights . Told me I was getting kicked out this experience cost $400 let me say stay clear of the hotel and leave beach by 12.

Its so fun and beautiful!! A place you pull up to and go whoa!!! We got our own private balcony with our suite that faced the bay. They also have a beautiful view from two different restaurants on the top of the main hotel. Its an amazing place that offers everything!! Next time you plan a trip to fort Myers, reservations here will be your best bet!!

However, next time I am back in FMB I will for sure be staying here again! Great spot to party or relax on the beach with everything you need just a few steps away! Overall LOVED our stay here! This is not your spot for a quiet getaway, this is where the party is!!

Been going here for years it was my wifes birthday and we had a bad smell in our room they sent maintenance down he said it was bad they did. Not move us stayed 2 days the housekeeper even gave us a bottle of deodorizer they should have changed our room we will never go back a d that is sad been going there since 1983 met the owner he is 85 not about to tell him they need to fix this.

This is my favorite place to go in Fort Myers! The Sun Deck is awesome! View of the Ocean and beach. If you park in their lot, you will get the money you paid taken off from your food bill. The food is delicious. The prices are good. The service is great. Absolutely a must go to if you are in the area.

THE popular party place! Check-in was easy. All the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was comfy clean and well equipped. Fantastic view from the balcony. All the different food and drinks were very good, and breakfast is a bargain. Happy hour is cheap and satisfying too. Our only gripe is the volume of the music and late hours it goes until. Not the place to go to bed early! Great for the party crowd, but not so much for those with young kids or oldsters. If you like to drink and enjoy the music, this is your kind of place.

Lani Kai is always friendly and fun! Visited here with my boyfriend after they opened post COVID and the room was sealed and very clean! All of the employees are wearing masks and everything is organized really well considering the circumstances. Liz at the front desk is always very cheerful and helpful! And Kristelle, Joe and Jennifer up at the sundeck took awesome care of us for all of our dining upstairs. And Albert with security always makes sure everything down on the beach is safe. We love the Kai and will return

Trashy hotel. Spring break trap for college kids. Building is old and run down. Room service is poor, called and asked for towels three times, only to not get any. Window broken in room. Mattress hard as a rock. Pillow had stains all over it. Loud, can here partying from the top floor all night. Drunk people wandering aimlessly in the hallways, didn’t feel safe. Parking lot reeked of marijuana. Never again.

Great social atmosphere near the beach, great for all ages. The rooms look remodeled and very beach style. Out side the beach you can rent cabanas and chairs. You can also order drinks from the beach because they have servers going around helping people. Inside theres a shop where you can purchase cute dresses or cover up for a fair price. Also bathing suits but didnt check price. You can also rent jetskies. Pretty cool and fun place.

This resort was on a beautiful beach. The resort on website looks far better then actual. Rooms are very simple more like super 8 or motel 6.Room 221 was over a bar and had a bar beside it. VERY LOUD and bands played until 2 am. If you are college age wanting no luxury and total party then by all means book this. If you are an adult or have a family DO NOT BOOK. So disappointed in the whole experience. Locals recommended Pink Shell, so that will be our next choice when we come to Ft. Myers Beach.

Just got back. Perfect location with many restaurants within walking distance. We got out right before spring break. The hotel was a little noisy at night with the bars right downstairs but not a big deal. Rooms were very clean and the staff was very friendly. We had lunch at the Greek concession in the hotel right off the beach and the food was great! Only thing that caught us off guard was paying for the chairs at the beach. Didnt mind having to do it, just that we were surprised when a guy came by in a quad (super friendly) and told us we had to pay. Maybe a sign or something that chairs were for rental? All in all I would go back but nit during spring break!
