Always driving by this place and I know my wife loves the wine here, so Id thought I would stop in and check it out. The drive in is very cool the road has rows of trees on both sides, giving a very cool look. Really love the look of the place, falls in with the traditional Williamsburg Colonial style. Then had a large event area in the back, where they may have been preparing for a wedding. Couple little tasting rooms and store. Very nice bar area, where you could sit upstairs and look over the Vinyard. They also have a restaurant, which wasnt open yet but their prep smelled great. Will definitely come back, the view, wine and food is worth it.

During COVID, they try to make the best experience possible. Gave us a choice to wait 15 min for wine tasting or buy bottles and sit outside in the beautiful field with picnic benches. We chose to buy bottles and sit outside. Would be nice if we could buy packaged cheese tray or olives or some kind of complimentary food to take with us out there. Very nice staff.

Nice lunch at the Winery. The tasting room is not presently open due to COVID health requirements. I ordered the Turkey & Brie sandwich and a flight of red wine. All very reasonably priced. The grill was out of service and being repaired while there, so the menu was limited. Nice experience, very friendly wait staff and Hostess. Go here while you are in Williamsburg it is a good time and beautiful scenery.

Representatives were wonderful in terms of responding to questions prior to our visit. We began with lunch at the Gabriel Archer Tavern. The service staff was professional and efficient. Although it was Sunday, our group anticipated also being able to order from the lunch menu. The brunch menu was limited and disappointing. There were very few interesting options for any of us, especially the vegetarians. We ordered an appetizer; it arrived with the main course. The food was average, at best. The wine tour was fun and informative.

While the wine was tasty, the fact that we were served in plastic cups killed the mood. I understand it is Covid but we have been to several other breweries/wineries and restaurants where we were served with actual glasses. Im sure an extra sanitizing measure could have been achieved. Its not only bad for the environment but I also feel like I was served less in the plastic cups. Im also noticing pictures of recent reviews that have glasses in them so Im questioning why we even got the plastic cups in the first place.

A very special thank you to the Williamsburg Winery and to Wedmore Place for making our daughters wedding a spectacular success even with the challenges that Covid has presented. Leah Robertson, Wedding Sales & Contract Manager, was with us every step of the way as the state guidelines changed and then changed again! She was always accessible and attended to every detail that I, as Mother of the Bride, requested. In fact, Leah went above and beyond to make our daughters wedding memorable. Thank you, too, to the staff at Wedmore Place, in particular Adam and Barbara. They worked with us for months booking rooms and then having to refund rooms as our guest list was reduced by state guidelines ... and they did so with a smile. My family who stayed at Wedmore complimented all the staff on their pleasant manner. Thank you, too, Leisa and Erin, at the Gabriel Archer Tavern for making our Sunday brunch with family and the newlyweds a lovely last event. What a memorable wedding weekend at the Williamsburg Winery!

Went here at the start of September. The tasting room isn’t open, but the pavilion was. It was beautiful. We sat in two rockers over looking the new vines. We got two flights- one red and one white. They came in plastic cups on a piece of paper. Felt very safe. We were allowed to bring our kids - both a blessing and a curse haha. Very nice ambiance. Would recommend.

If you consider yourself a wine connoisseur, please check out Williamsburg Winery. They have a great selection of wines there. You can also opt to do the tour of the location, just the wine tasting, enjoy the food or take in the scenery. But definitely leave with a few bottles though. I normally go for the tastings and purchasing bottles, so the last time we went, we opted to eat the food there as well which we should have been doing since the beginning. The flatbread is amazing as well as the sangria. Try it all and have a great afternoon/evening.

We came here for the their restaurant and tried one of the wines as well. I like the aesthetics of the restaurant, simple and welcoming. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We were pleasantly surprised that they had some dessert wine options. It was sweet and tasty. Delicious food but the portions were small, especially the quiche, and the butternut squash that came with the rockfish was just a couple circular dollops. The salad that came with the quiche a bit odd— it came with some greens and mystery cut veggies on top (along with a beet). For dessert, we had a tiramisu which came in a jar. It was soft, creamy and wonderful. We had a great time.

Once again, we return to our favorite winery for our annual tasting. Here at the winery, we always get the reserve tasting...... and each trading comes with the glass to take home. (the only disappointment was that they changed the glass style, so the bre ones dont match the older ones, which I really liked)We did the 7 reserve since tasting which was delicious...I particularly enjoyed the Reflective, and the petite fleur along with the spiced wine and the Wessex Merlot.Kirsten took very good care of us., thank you for making our day special.

My girlfriend and I took the Extensive Tour and Reserve Tasting. It was interesting and we got to see some cool stuff. We spent most of the time in the cellar, which is where we had our tasting (paired with cheese, bread, and crackers). Our guide was very nice. The staff was also very nice and informative. They helped us pick out some wines based on pairings and preferrence. After the tasting we walked over to the tavern for some food, which was really good, as well. We were a group of 5 coming to celebrate one of our friends birthdays. We wanted to do a tasting but there was an hour wait in the tasting room We ordered a bottle at the pavilion and waited for our table for lunch at the cafe. The layout of this winery is odd. Specifically, you arent allowed to bring any bottles of wine you buy 20 feet from the cafe back to the cafe. After visiting several wineries before, we found that quite odd. However, we were very pleased with the service from our waitress Cat. The service from our waitress Cat was absolutely 5 star worthy. She knew the menu well and was able to direct us to things we liked. She was very helpful, attentive to our needs and prompt. The atmosphere was pretty. The charcuterie board was underwhelming. The turkey and brie sandwich Cat suggested was delicious. Thank you to Cat for making our experience to the Williamsburg Winery. If it werent for her we probably would never come back.

WW was superb! Gail poured our wine & was very knowledgeable of each selection. They have a wide variety of wines to choose from. The views are very nice, great for special occasions. The Tavern across the way smelled delicious however I was a little disappointed in the selection. My friend ordered a roast beef panini expecting it to be warm. I ordered the Charcuterie board because I was told it would serve up to 4. Traditionally these boards include a selection of cheese, nuts, honey, bread/crackers, meats and sauces. I was very sad when it came out with 4 varieties of meat and some toasted bread.

I booked the introduction to wine tour and lunch online for my wife and I which was very convenient. Our guide was very nice and personable, however, she did not seem very knowledgeable about the products/operations of the winery and a majority of the time read off of a piece of paper. When we reached the portion of the tour where we went into the cellar to view the storage/aging barrels my wife and I noticed a lot of black mold on the walls which left us questioning the health standards held at this establishment. After the storage/bottling, we were ushered into a tasting room where we tasted a broad array of different types of wine. We were both disappointed again because we felt rushed and were offered no product information or insight on the individual tastings other than the name of the wine. This concluded our tour and we then headed to the Cafe Provencal for lunch. The Cafe was very busy and to our delight, we were seated outside, giving us the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful day. The service was a bit slow and our waitress promptly apologized with the disclaimer that they were understaffed. Our sandwiches arrived and were very tasty as well as the small salad that came with. My wife and I liked the special lunch menu and enjoyed the opportunity to mix and match our main course, dessert, and drink. My wife and I were disappointed with the winery and the mold had us questioning the safety of their products. If we were to go back, we would skip the winery and visit the Cafe instead.

They showed us one of their grape sections and where they ferment the grapes and then took us to their wine cellars. From there they took us to an elegant room in the basement where we tasted 7 different wines and were given a souvenier wine glass. Overall, a very nice afternoon activity.

This restaurant in the winery was one of our favorite places. I had a very brief business encounter with the founder and owner of the winery, Mr. Patrick Duffeler, almost 20 years ago. This classy gentleman ensured first class service and exquisite cuisine in the restaurant. Every time we had been in the neighborhood we made a point to stop by to enjoy some food and some of the wine. We also made special trips to the winery coming from Richmond and recommended it to friends. Our attitude towards the winery changed today. The service was terrible. The brought the wrong food. Than they brought only two meals and we had to wait for the third quite some time. Our waitress found it important to chat with another guest for the longest time while ignoring us. The menu changed also to very simple food what can be found in any low class restaurant for half the price. The taste and quality of the meals served was poor. Trying to communicate our concern to the manager of the restaurant failed since he never showed up. We decided to avoid this place in the future.

Was just there this Sunday 2/16/2020 what an awful experience. Upon walking up to the front door everything seemed very beautiful, until we met our tour guide. The tour guide was All over the place! She had no idea what she was talking about, and had no real information, anytime someone had a question she would say “I’ll remember that for next time, so yea Um whatever” everyone in the group just looked at each other almost in disbelief. This was very unorganized. After the five min tour we went for the wine tasting. Again we were just told the names of the wine, no real information about them and it was rushed. We’re all seated at a big table so naturally people started to talk to one another and introduce themselves which was literally the only good part of the experience, meeting new people. The tour guide was extremely rude, wanted us to be completely silent for her to come around with the next wine. Horrible experience was very disappointing.

Beautiful setting! The winery is set up much like a mini Colonial Williamsburg, with a few small store fronts and the antique buildings. We did a wine tasting of both the reserve and the regular wines, the reserve list having more red options than the regular list. The tasting was very affordable for two of us, and you get 7 wines with each tasting. The wines were okay, but not excellent. The semi dry whites and dessert wines were fantastic, but the reds left something to be desired. Most of their whites are aged in Stainless Steel, so they are a bit sharper. The girl who did our tasting for us was very nice, but did not know anything about the wines past the two-line tidbits she memorized, which were the same as were printed on the sheets. I much prefer learning about the winery, the process, and discussing the wines, so this was not that in depth. It was a good wine tasting for a novice taster, but did not satisfy the more in-depth connoisseur.
