Great park with a nice paved trail for cycling away from traffic. Apparently there is a kayak launch in the park as well, but I only brought my bike this time. For me personally, being an EV driver, this park is top notch and a lifesaver because of the available and free charging. Other parks in VA need to follow suit.

The disc golf course is a crapshoot. There are multiple pin placements for each hole, but only one set of 18 pins. The course either plays as an expert course or intermediate course, depending on where the pins are. Experts may be disappointed with the shorter red pin placement, beginners and intermediate players may have difficulty with the longer blue pins, with many deep in the woods or in precarious locations. On the plus side, all tees are cement pads. Some holes have two pads, but not all do. The office may or may not be staffed. The course is a mix of wooded and open holes, with the majority in the woods. Some of the open holes have their pin in the woods. 18 is extremely long and disproportionate to the length of the other holes.Conditions the last time I played were also not ideal, there is a lot of tree maintenance that needs to be done with down trees and limbs, hole 4 had no pin at all and was not marked as closed, and the ground was very wet. Instead of all pins being long or all pins being short, they were mixed and there is no information at the tee box as to which pin placement is current. Many pins are not visible from the tee, so it becomes necessary to walk many of the holes before playing a tee shot just to figure out where the pin is that day. The staff was not knowledgeable as to the current course set up.Waller Mill is the other local option for disc golf and may be a better option, since it offers something for players of different skill levels. There are multiple tee pads and pin placements for each hole, but there are always two tees and two pins for each hole (36 baskets, 36 tee pads). Experts can play the longer more challenging tees and pins, beginners and intermediates can play the others, or you can mix and match. Waller Mill does not have cement tee pads.

We have recently moved to the area and this is by far our favorite park. There is a great playground for the kids, plenty of trails to walk, a disc golf course, a volleyball court, a mountain biking trail and restrooms. When we visit we always feel like the only ones there because there is so much space and so much to offer. But we like it that way so shhh.. dont tell anyone about this wonderful hidden treasure of a park :)

I live 3 miles from the main parking lot. I ride singletrack and the 7 mile loop here is well worth riding or running (walkers and runners should navigate the trail opposite bike direction). All other trails in the park are hiking trails and shouldnt be ripped up with high speed mountain biking. The park has a floating pier for fishing or sightseeing and a large fire pit for special events. Both of which are within a half mile of the parking lot. Oh yeah, they have Frisbee golf, which seems to be the most used amenity. There is also a playground, beach volleyball, and basketball courts.

A large, multi-use park in the beautiful wooded hills of Williamsburg, New Quarter park features the premier disc golf course in eastern Virginia as well as miles of trails, picnic shelters, a playground, half court basketball, and a baseball diamond. If you are playing disc golf, be sure to check in and pay with the friendly staff at the office/pro shop, which has a good selection of Innova discs and bags for sale (they even allow test tosses in the open field beside the building), as well as disc rentals. A must-stop destination for disc golfers passing through on interstate 64!

Running review. This park has trails off of the road starting in pavement and leading to fine gravel trails through the woods. In addition, the gravel part of the trail leads to more primitive short trail loops that always lead back to the main trail. You cant get lost because when you leave a trail, there are signs that say exit if you are directionally challenged. Gradual declines/inclines if you stay on main paved/gravel trails, but not so gradual on the wooded trail loops. Fun moderate inclines on loop 8 and 9. Abuts golf course, turnaround point is less than 2 miles and stops at water. Enjoyable and feels safe and well maintained.
