I love this little trail! You can hike from Tenleytown to Georgetown, and - in the spring and summer - you hardly know you are in the city, besides crossing a few streets! There are stairs, a bit of elevation change, a stream crossing, along with some wildlife to enjoy.

A nice alternative to Rock Creek Park. Tucked away and relatively quiet, great for exercise during the pandemic.

Great, beginner friendly hiking trails surrounded with trees and little creeks. Relatively flat with tree roots and easy to follow trails. They have signs that tell you the distance to the destination as well. Very serene, multiple entrances.

Awesome oasis in the middle of the city, makes you feel youre in the forest far from the city. Great hiking trail that is usually surprisingly empty of people considering its in the middle of the city.

The Glover Archbold Trail is a beautiful urban hike just north of Georgetown that takes you through quaint neighborhoods like Foxhall Village and the Palisades all the way up to Tenleytown. Its well-marked and will take you through streams, hills, and fallen trees. If youre into D.C. history, theres an abandoned streetcar track from 1896 in the south part of the trail.

Beautiful flat dirt trail that feels serene and secluded and only a stones throw away from the bustling city! Our dog enjoyed the trail and we passed lots of dog walkers along the way (there arent waste disposal bins though!).Theres a lot less foot traffic on this lesser known trail than Rock Creek Park (intersects with the Western Trail). The full trail starting from Cathedral Heights on Massachusetts Avenue to Foundry Branch Valley Park in Georgetown is around 5 miles. The trail is shaded with a canopy of pine trees and a nice creek. We walked over a log and saw a family of white tail deer at dusk. As you inch closer to Georgetown, the trail is overgrown, look out for poison ivy and bring bug spray! The trail has many entrances as we entered mid-way through the Glover Park Community Gardens on New Mexico Ave and 42nd Street. We spent about an hour leisurely walking 2.5 miles and landed at Georgetown Athletics Center, it was too dark to walk through Foundry Park. We walked 1/2 a mile down Canal Road past the Key Bridge to M Street.Wonderful underdog local trail that gets overlooked for the more popular Rock Creek Park. Great for fall foliage and furry friends!

This neighborhood is diverse and has an active population. Summer softball teams, gardens for vegetables, an arts venter, a special walkway of trees planted for famous Russians to honor the nearby Russian embassy. Large playground. Right at the top of Georgetown.

Amazing trail to walk/run while enjoying nature. Super clean. When I walk to Georgetown I prefer taking the trail than to walk on Wisconsin ave because i feel like I get faster to wherever I want to go. & I super love that I just have to cross the street to start my hike!

One of the best hiking areas in DC. Is not a huge area so it may get borring if visited a lot. However, it is densely wooded with nice trails so you can get away from the city feeling.

This park has a lot of potential to be a great city park. Currently it is overgrown, polluted, and has a feeling of being a little dangerous. This should be a multi use park that allows mountain bikers as well as hikers. Do do this the trails need to be redone to not only clear the overgrowth but also make them wider. New trails should be cut so that more of the area can be enjoyed.

Beautiful park with a great main trail that runs N-S, however, there are lingering issues. Erosion in the park is a serious prroblem and the lack of any maitence beyond removing fallen trees is not existent. Also, the extreme southern section has been closed for the past 9 months pending removal/covering of the old trolley trestle. I am not holding my breath on it being fixed soon. With that said, its a great urban park to run and hike through.

A hidden gem in DCs NW. Glover Archbold Park offers more solace than Rock Creek, and the feel of the park is different. Plus, it pops you out near Palisades -- if you take the correct route, you can end up having drinks at Black Salt.

Step into the depths of Glover Park, and youll forget you were ever in the city. The entrances usually start at the street level, then descend pretty quickly into the park itself. Its an immersive experience. You can hike the entire park, consisted of a moderate-difficult climb from Canal Road to Tenleytown. There are some wooden stairs to assist with the steep climb, but its mostly a dirt trail that can get narrow at times. The park is pretty dense, and you might even spot a deer here and there (on the lower branch area). I love running through the park. Its beautiful and serene, and the twists and turns in the path make it an enjoyable journey. #LetsGuide
