We didnt get to spend a lot of time at this park, but can easily see how a full day could be spent here. Lots of hiking trails, beautiful views of the river, and the roads and structures are all very nice. We had a picnic lunch here, and enjoyed a walk in the woods, amongst trees and bamboo. We are looking forward to coming back, so we can explore even more!
This is a great place for hiking. The natural trail cover a very wide area. There is a stairway which makes a good exercise. Plus the park is beautiful. Lots of attractions. There is also a playground for kids.
Beautiful park next to the river. Lots of trees to provide some shade and if you hike up the hill on one of the various hills, theres a great lookout spot over the confluence of the rivers! The air was so fresh, and its a great place to meet people outside, especially at the moment with covid. There are picnic tables for families. There were some people there enjoying the mountain biking when we were there too.
Incredibly diverse park that gives park-goers many unique landscapes and experiences. Simply a joy to follow the river trail or immerse oneself in one of the dozens of other winding, forested trails. Pay careful attention to trail names and colors as many trails offer moderate to heavy difficulty. Many other opportunities to bike, walk, or ride the trails or boat, kayak, or fish the rivers. There are several scenic points and rest areas as well as a playground, splashground, and small zoo.
The trails are great. They range from easy to hard all with in a small area, and the way they loop on each other, you can get tons of distance. Great for easy walks, easy to strenuous hikes, trail running, and some gnarly mountain biking. Something for everybody. All right next to the Brazos. I have loved this place since I want to Baylor 16 years ago.
Frizbee golf with my son this time but in general, Cameron is one of the nicest bits of waco. Sculpture, water play spots for kids, the river, the zoo, gorgeous grounds tons of playgrounds and trails...its a fantastic spot. If youre from here and dont know, go visit and get to know the details. If youre just here for a bit go and see the basics and find a spot for a picnic. I cameron park.
Wonderful place!!! The trails are awesome!!! You can walk, hike, run and on some of them you can ride your mountain bike. We had a lot of fun with the kids hiking here. Next time Ill bring our bikes...
Lots of trails of varying difficulty (flat walking, hiking, biking, etc) and beautiful area. Just be done by nightfall to be safe
Beautiful park on the river. Best zoo for its size. We love to people watch while eating our picnic on a beautiful day!
Really nice park, restrooms maintained well. The kids had a blast
The Park is beautiful, its huge, there are many areas to park and walk and ride bikes or just sit and picnic, most have a River view too.
A great challenging disc golf course with a lot of different shots required and elevation changes.. only a couple holes where you could lose your disk easily and navigation isnt the easiest but there are a few course maps available.
Love going for a walk on the different trails just be careful for snakes especially after rain other then that its such a beautiful scene!
You can enjoy both leisure walks or full on hikes. Being next to the river is very calming and zen. Dont forget repellent and sun block. Snacks and water, they do have clean potties.
Cameron Park is huge. Playgrounds, hiking/ biking/ running trails are among the longest I have seen in Texas. They are clearly marked as Beginner/intermediate etc. There are bathrooms throughout the park as week, and they are kept very clean. You can also Canoe or bring your Kayak to the river that runs alongside the park.
Beautiful . Theres other trails to explore. But, didnt get to explore them. I would love to go back to Cameron Park
Lovely walk with our daughter and son in law.
Lovers leap is so nice! They really fixed this place up, looks brand new, I haven’t been here in 20 years since college, came here to visit to bring my spouse for the first time, it is beautiful here! Felt pretty safe bringing her here, highly recommend.
Love this park. Lots of trails & tons of things to do for all ages. Just beautiful!
Beautiful park .. Lots of space and places to walk run or just sit and ponder.
Awesome park, parts of it has lots of shade. Beautiful views of the Brazos River!
A lot of things to see here, I would recommend going on the many trails that are out there or just enjoy some of the animals at the nearby Cameron Park Zoo.
Very nice park, it has several different spots and playgrounds throughout the whole park. There are trails for walking and riding bikes. Theres so much to do throughout the whole park. You can even feed the ducks by the river!
Wonderful park full of trails and real Texas nature along the Brazos River. A true gem in the Heart of Texas and a nice place to visit all year round.
Fun climbing playground. A little tough for the 2-4 age but older love it and the small slide is good for 1-2 year olds. :)
A place you can be one with the world .... where there are no differences .... no insecurities ... only peace of the mind .... and heart .....
Love the scenic river and riding my Mountain bike on the off.road trails. Concrete trails are nice. Try Jacobs ladder challenge
Nice park! Huge! Perfect for working out or chilling with the kids and dog! We hiked for hours and the trails are all clearly marked. So peaceful and pretty. I like there are many different areas, some more geared toward kids, with playgrounds some wide open for running the dog. Loved the many picnic areas...will definitely be back!
This place is a treasure of Waco. Lots of great hikes, a couple of play grounds and a beautiful river walk. It has something for everyone!
Cameron Park was beautiful . Lots of walking sidewalks, lots of things to see . The park has good security for people walking and jogging . Rest rooms are kept very clean and so is the park .cleanest park i have ever seen . Also lots of seats and tables . Loved this place very quiet and peaceful. I have to give this park 5☆☆☆☆☆ .
This park is well-maintained with an adequate number of picnic tables and other areas to sit and meditate. My late morning stroll was pleasant and peaceful. While this park appears to be quite large, I was surprised by the small area designated for parking.
Abundance of green space and walking trails laced with Sculptures of Wild Animals found in the Zoo. Worth the drive to Waco and adjacent to the zoo.
Nice park along the Brazos river. They have nice playgrounds for kids and miles of trails for walking/jogging plus the river so you can fish.
Love the endless trails! Take the family and the dog to some of the prettiest views in Waco!
Beautiful park with lots of trails, river views, playgrounds, historic buildings and picnic tables. Delightful.
Always love going to Cameron Park. Pecan Bottoms under the Herring Street Bridge is a great place for families.
Looks like a nice place to hike. Has all skill levels trails. Shaded. We hiked a wide path near the rivers edge. Nice and quiet. Didnt have much time to venture but we will come back.
I’ve been going here consistently for the past few weeks and I find a new trail every time I go. super great park, lots of options for biking, walking, running, or working out (the jacobs ladder is killer) it’s well kept up and the trails are easily marked + navigable.
This park was very well handled.Their natural wildflowers and a lovely riverview.Parking was pretty tight but you should be able to find something. There were trails for running, biking, hiking. there was a staircase that I believe was called Jacobs ladder. It was extremely steep and very enjoyable to climb. The park was well maintained and the restroom facilities were usable.
Very beautiful place... please take your trash with you or put it in the trash cans... help keep it beautiful
Beautiful place every time I go I find something new
Cameron Park has evolved over the years. The landscape is beautiful and the views are amazing There are several different points that you can go to and see different parts of the Brazos River. Jacobs Ladder is a really cool place to go. Its a tall stone stairway that takes you from the bottom of Cameron Park through the trees to the top. Be prepared to walk for a while and wear good shoes because the stairs vary in size. If youre a nature person there are several hiking trails where you can either walk or bike. I would definitely recommend Cameron Park for people of all ages.
So much to see and do there. Hiking in the hills, scenery from multiple locals such as lovers leep and if you just want to stroll along the river you can do that to. Cant wait to visit the zoo and any other hidden gems I havent had the chance to go see yet.
Place was full of visitors, so I didnt get my usual parking spot. I love to take lunch breaks here, just to enjoy the view.
Cameron Park Mountain Bike trails are a hidden gem! Not too far off of I-35 in Waco makes it hard not to stop here for some fun! You can run on these trails as well and the traffic runs both directions. There is a trail that they call the greenway that runs along the river that’s really pretty. Looks like you could Kayak there too. There were bathroom facilities with running water as well. Some of the trails are double black diamond rated, know your ability and when in doubt-walk it out.
The park is really nice but they need to put covers over the seat where the parents sit to watch the children all of them are in direct sunlight if you fix that the park would be great
Beautiful spot, one of the largest city parks Ive ever been to. Lots of trails and beautiful river views.
One of the best municipal parks anywhere. The mountain bike trails are fantastic.
I jogged today. It was very nice. I always enjoy the park.
I LOVE this park. I have visited it so often for 25+years and i am still in awe of its beauty.
Omg of the map stop gotta go relaxing and quiet pack your cooler well though not alot around.
Always a fun place to visit with family kids or just me time!
Beautiful park. Awesome disk golf too.
Its very nice, beutifull place visit
Great views, free fun! Wonderful place to go for a long hike if you have the time.
Gorgeous views! Lovers leap is a wonderful place to stop and watch the sunset!
This is a beautiful park. It has miles and miles hike and bike trails to suit every skill level.
Literally the best place to workout in Waco. It was many places to run and a variety of trails.
Amazing place. Definitely recommend going through the nature trail after dark. Unfortunately it wasnt haunted like the stories we read, but was pretty thrilling.
Lots to see and do. Plenty of playscapes for kids to play on
Gorgeous scenery with amazing trails. Plenty of restroom facilities and picnic pavilions.
It was a beautiful drive into park and then trails and views are best in Waco.
This place is gorgeous! Very clean. Love it!
Its a great place to take the kids the people are helpful
This place is absolutely beautiful. I visit almost every time I make it to Waco. Please go. Lovers Leap is wonderful and the trails are so beautiful.
Northern Gateway Park is a great playground for the kids, complete with misters, a large covered picnic area and a ballfield. Nice restrooms as well. If youre looking for a place to park while hiking or riding your mtn bike, many trailheads are convenient from this location.
An absolutely beautiful natural Wonderland. Multiple Lookouts from The Cliffs over the Brazos & Bosque Rivers. Extensive Trails for mountain biking and hiking. Very clean Public restrooms with maps at each stop. Beautiful modern play areas for children. A true Photographers Paradise. Whether you want to tear up the trails with the mountain bike or just sit back and relax and take in The View, this park has something for everybody. And if your legs are in good shape check out Jacobs Ladder and climb one of the cliffs. Beautiful canopy tree covered access roads, and active and visible security. If you visit the Waco area and do not stop here you missed out on something very special. The park is directly next to the Cameron Park Zoo which is another beautiful stop. Nature lovers this is a park you do not want to miss.
Always parking!I love to hit a different trail or area of the park whenever I go.This park reminds me of the Austin greenbelts. Almost like being home.
This is a HUGE park, with everthing from traditional ball fields, mammoth playgrounds to an equestrian center, archery range, hiking trails, and facilities to rent for wedding receptions, conferences and family reunions......truly the star of the City of The aco Parks & Rec. Division......well worth a visit when youre Waco-bound....
Pretty nice park with plenty of trails and a playground! Could do with a new splash pad for kids
I recently discovered Cameron Park while visiting Waco. I didnt expect a park this large and developed to be in the area. There are a couple of scenic vistas along with numerous hiking trails. This would be an ideal place to bring your family or have a picnic. If you live nearby or have time to kill I certainly recommend dropping by.
BEAUTIFUL. I have found heaven in Waco. I was losing hope of finding that one place I can go to relax and unwind but I finally found it. There are so many things you can do at Cameron Park, or any of the other parks along the route. Hiking, camping, cookouts, bike riding, ect......
The hiking trails are great!!! Beautiful views!! Plenty of restrooms and trash cans to keep the park clean.
Went to Miss Nellie Park, area nice and clean, kids had a blast.
Awesome gem in Waco! Beautiful hiking / biking trails engrossed in ornate foliage & gorgeous trees. Great for driving up& down the winding roads or stopping to breathe in the fresh air and overlook the river. Cameron Park makes you feel like you’re in a different part of the country.
Was nice to walk and sit on a breezy day. Hope to come back soon.
This park have improved so much over the last decade. There are trails, and beautiful scenery. Cameron Park is a gem for Waco and I hope everyone give this Park another chance, as the improvements are great!
Great place to ride mountain bike. Easy along river - super difficult in the hills.
Clean park, tons of trails. I recommend downloading a trail map. The trails are clearly marked, but be careful if you go after it rains. Some of the moderately difficult trails become very slick and make going up the inclines a little tricky.
Really great trail. Perfect for the whole family. There are restrooms in between trails so you will have the ability to go if need be. Make sure you have enough water.
Very clean and kept. So many beautiful views, very good for pictures. So many trails and tables for a stroll or a picnic.
Completely in love with Cameron Park. i have lived in Waco all of my life pretty much. Been to Cameron Park a thousand times.. But the past month I have visited it almost everyday. You can really see how beautiful nature is if you open your eyes.
A lot of cool hiking trails in a couple different difficulties. We hiked for 4.5 miles and I dont think we saw most of it
Its very well maintained and a good place to spend an afternoon.
Cameron park is the absolute best thing in Waco! I can spend all day there and never get bored of it
Beautiful view all threw here
This park is beautiful! Checkout the Lovers Leap overlook and Ms Nellie’s Pretty Place.
Beautiful and serene. Miles of scenic trails
Alot safer than when I was a kid.
Really Clean, Convenient Outside Bathrooms, FANTASTIC VIEWS, Rockn playgrounds, but for some reason Waco isnt a fan of proportionate stairs . Still if you havent gone .... Then Gooo!!! What are you waiting for?
A bit too crowded now for me. I prefer tranquil. Not people and trash everywhere. Yes, theres trash people just toss down.
Awesome trails right on the river. Great for bike, walk, hike or run.
Very nice park with lots to do for a lot of different activities. Great place to ride mountain bikes. Lots of big hills, bring your 42 tooth cog. Maps are like ski park maps with double black diamonds for the really hard trails. There are some really steep trails here. Beware!!
I have been going to Cameron Park for 60 years. I have never had one problem with people shooting fireworks....which would NOT happen. The park is very secure. It is...in my opinion...the best place on earth.
I hike here almost every weekend. Very well mapped, trails well maintained. Nice views, and beautiful wildflowers at Miss Nellies Pretty Place when the season is right. Very dog friendly. Plenty of spots to grill. Sometimes I see more trash than Id like, so keep the park clean, please! They have plenty of trash cans.
Very beautiful place to enjoy a picnic or just a family stroll. Good fishing and family time.
