Amazing history and free! I was talking with my children about horse and buggies crossing. Then we were talking about wagons and stagecoaches. After crossing, we saw the trail drive statues memorializing whole herds crossing and we were all amazed. We then looked up the Chisom Trail, learned from plaques on the site, and learned a lot more of history. While crossing the bridge, we saw lots of sucks and turtles in the water. Take old bread to feed the ducks in the grass beside the bridge.
Great park area for a walk or run. Great to grab a bit to eat and have it in the park. There were a few good trucks close by to get something.
Loved It! Romantic walk with Hubby on this beautiful day ♡
Beautiful place to walk with great views picnic spots and a great trail to run hike or walk
It was very calm and quiet. Its a nice place to sit and enjoy the scenery. Just be mindful of people around you.
Nice place to visit, great photo ops. We enjoyed the quick stop over here.
This bridge is cool, loved the history. I took my girlfriend here but we broke up the next day. I doubt the bridge was at fault though, I hope its history of allowing cattle to pass through the area didnt impact that.
This bridge was beautiful and the park around it as well! Unfortunately, there were many homeless people around so a heightened sense of awareness is a really good idea.
Great place to visit in Waco. The history behind the bridge is phenomenal and intriguing. A very nice place to go on a walk, check out the scenery and watch the ducks as well as people on boat rides. Excellent tourist attraction located on the Brazos river.
Officiated my second wedding this week on the bridge in the beautiful City of Waco. Great parking, peaceful historical setting thats well maintained.
Interesting history. Lots of great photo opportunities.
It was peaceful and a great place to work on photography. Cant wait to go back.
Very cool bridge to walk across and follow the path down to a nice river walk. There are bathrooms and parking on the street.
First time here. Its beautiful.
We were just looking for a quick spot to stop by on our way back from Temple to Dallas and found this. So glad I did. Beautiful river walk and a nice play area for kids.
Great place to visit and take pics. However, they under renovation.
Beautiful park in downtown Waco, TX. It is filled with history of cattle and cattleman moving across the Brazos River. Love the huge larger than life sculptures.Lots of birds, turtles and fish to see in the river.Beautiful flowers and plants as well. Walking across the suspension bridge is a wonderful experience in itself.
Relaxing place. Just bring your food and drinks
I really enjoyed walking through a bit of history.
Its a bridge......it holds us up for our cringy couples pics that we will hate in a few year nuff said. Carry on.
If youre in Waco, stop by! These are the best bronze statues weve seen in Texas. The ones in Houston and Austin are far less impactful. The bridge is beautiful, despite the bad weather we had. I didnt know quite how suspension bridges worked but its all very visible here. A neat piece of engineering with some great history behind it. Nice walking trails nearby and plenty of street parking right by the bridge. Easily wheel chair accessible to view the bronze sculptures and see the bridge.
We went to the Suspension bridge to release balloons for suicide awareness. A friend of mines son killed himself..my friend wanted to raise awareness about suicide in his memory...hard thing to do ..especially since it just happened..
Iconic spot in Waco. The bridge and the cattle drive statues are nice for photo ops
Beautiful and not too busy. Perfect place to watch the sunset.
2nd time here since moving to Texas. Beautiful place...
Good for 15 minutes walk in a 180 year old bridge, you can see turtles and ducks and take pictures.
Wako H3 Onies trail
The architecture is breathtaking. Such a tranquil place to gather your thoughts and soak in the beautiful landscape!
Great stop. Free to do. Walk the bridge and see the statues of the longhorns.
Its a beautiful place, walk out in the middle and look at the river, relaxing area.
Its a beautiful place. But it could use some TLC. Some upgrades and better advertising to the location. With the Texas heat some vendors would be great especially for tourists.
Really enjoyed this. Nice place for a good long walk.
We spent a day in Waco. We had lunch across the street and decided to take a look at this suspension bridge. I had no idea that it was the part of the Chisolm Trail. This is a beautiful bridge with amazing statues.
The waco suspension Bridge is a great place to walk or jog . There is a thing I like to mention to make this place even better . Waco please remove the transients from the public rest rooms . They sit right in front where men and women go into and out of the restrooms and stare you down as you come in and out . They are not shy of confronting you . Would I go there again ? No .
Loved it, wonderful place to take pictures, but depending on the time of day it can get very hot.
Beautiful place to take pictures. Clean areas to sit and have lunch. Neat statues and bits of history. We just happened to pass by and thought it was pretty so we stopped. Glad we did. If you are in Waco you should stop by and see for yourself.
What a fun place to stop and visit.
One of the oldest suspension bridges in the state. Amazing that 150 years ago they had the technology to build a single span suspension bridge in Texas that has been able to stand the test of time. The bridge is now for walking across only, and when walking on it you can see why. This bridge is an amazing piece of history, but also not safe for small children if not continually supervised. Plenty of places to get hurt or fall off the side of the bridge if you have a toddler that is crazy like mine! Just off the bridge there are several huge statues of longhorns on a cattle drive that are truly amazing. This area was part of the Chisholm trail and many markers explain more about it. All in all a great Texas stop!
Very beautiful park and river walk area. Loved the monuments to police and veterans.
Always so beautiful out there... But Ive noticed a lot of iffy people hanging around lately
So nice, all year long except July and August is too hot to walk.
We absolutely love to walk here.Great place to be on a romantic walk.
Nice place to go for a stroll and take pictures.
The architecture and sculptures are well worth the visit.
Very Interesting place to visit! Love all the bronze Cattle and cowboys! A must stop !
Perfect views and vibe for a sunset walk
Pretty cool walking bridge. nice park. rental kayaks available. good spot for a relaxing afternoon
I love to walk my dogs around the bridge. It is so peaceful. I enjoy seeing all the tourist. There is alot of history around the bridge. Back in the old days it was the only place to get your cattle across the Brazos river for many miles. If your visiting Waco you should stop by. Plenty of free parking in the area.
Really impressive bridge and park area with trails on the river and art work. Highly recommend.
Very beautiful park with a lot to see and bridge quite impressive.
If you visit waco then you have to visit here. Even the homeless wont harass you.
What wonderful history this bridge has. So fun to cross it, but yet stopping in the middle and looking both ways the views are amazing.
Really cool bridge with awesome sculptures. Definitely worth stopping and walking around. I took off a star because there were a lot of kids on skateboards and I almost got mowed down. Lol. Its a daytime visit for sure.
History of Texas. Great for families
Beautiful scenes.. small town big potential..go visit..
There were really pretty views from this bridge. The history of the bridge was neat too.
Very nice to see, wish it had been a little cooler.
Nice place to go and relax with your family. Loved it
Nice place to visit on a day trip. There’s statues by the entrance of the park. View from the bridge overlooking the river was nice. A path that leads down to the water but didn’t go there. Just a nice stroll and possibly might be a great view at night.Stay away from the public restrooms as it’s not clean at all and plenty of arachnids. Or you might find a naked person taking a bird bath in one of them.Overall the experience was nice as we are out of towners.
Had a great time walking the park and bridge after dark. The area and bridge were lit up nicely.
Always a great place to go for a walk.
Beauty. Had so much fun at sunset. Loved it.
Lets be honest this place is great the view the ducks the sunsets! Historical monuments and lots of events! Pictures are here take them its gorgeous! I would give it another star just the water isnt the cleanest and maybe more cleaning but overall great place!!!
A wonderful park with walking trail and pedestrian only bridge.
Its more than just crossing a bridge! :-)
Really cool! Got a chance to walk it and take lots of pictures. If you like history this is for you.
Fun In Waco,Texas my hometown...Historical Suspension Bridge
We visited this park while in Waco. The bridge is interesting and the sculptures surrounding the bridge within the park are beautiful. A nice place to visit while in Waco!
Rich in history and gorgeous scenery for pics or just to take in the views.
This is a really cool bridge in the heart of Waco. The night before our visit, wedding was held on the bridge.
A great place to walk, enjoy the status and memorials in the park. Watch the sunset/sunrise. And take a walk along the river.
Love suspension bridges, they are beautiful. You are able to cross this wooden planked bridge on foot, see the other newer bridges while crossing, the Brazos River. Plus at the Waco park you also get to see lifesize gorgeous metal longhorn cattle with cowboys driving on part of the Chisum Trail.
Beautifully preserved bit of history! Fun for the kiddos too.
Cool area to hang out. The river walk underneath is a good spot for a walk or run.
Nice outdoor fun. Gorgeous views...recommend walking the trails...
The Waco Suspension Bridge is surely worth a stop. It has plenty of great views and an interesting history. This was among the first viable crossing over the Brazos River. In the adjacent Indian Springs Park, there are actual fresh water springs.
Really awe-inspiring to see a bridge still standing at its age. I love to visit things from the past and wonder about the people that used it all those years ago!
Very pretty park. The old wooden bridge is a trip to walk across.
Love walking the bridge and experiencing the feeling.
Its an aesthetically pleasing and relaxing place to walk around and enjoy nature or appreciate architecture.
Nice place to walk along and across the Brazos river
One of the most beautiful && historical places in Waco, Texas. Especially when the sun starts going down. Love love love this spot.
Neat place and major part of history. The sculptures of cowboys and a herd of cattle ready to cross is amazing. So glad we went.
Very beautiful location to take photos and to visit with family and friends.
History lives here on the old Chisholm trail. Learn how thousands of cattle once crossed this bridge on the way to Abilene, Kansas. Roebling helped build this bridge before building the Brooklyn Bridge. Nice statues commemorating this landmark.
Enjoyed it. Cool bridge. Great place for pics or a walk. You can see McLane Stadium in the distance too.
Fun little stop in Waco. The statues of cowboys and cattle are stunning.
Very pretty and clean. Enjoyed the statues and the benches.
Beautiful Picturesque location. Perfect for family stroll and exploration. My family of 5 had fun walking bridge and taking photos.
Great views of the Brazos river with plenty of shady areas to relax all around.
This is really a beautiful spot. Great place to take someone perhaps after or during a date. Fantastic view and very peaceful. Wouldnt recommend going late at night, saw a few individuals that made me pretty uneasy while we were there, late at night. But its a lovely area.
Proud of our city. The cattle drive sculptures are amazing.
Loved the park and sculptures preserving Waco heritage. Bridge was an awesome preservation....was Bethlehem Steel used for the cable/wire rope. We are from PA and many bridges used their steel.. including the Golden Gate bridge.
Great place for afternoon walks. Very relaxing
