Nice little zoo, not too big not too small. We went during Thanksgiving week and the animals were all out It was a cool day only in the upper 50s. We had 5 kids and grandparents, everyone had fun. Food is not overpriced. Dinner was hand sanitizer and you had to wear masks indoors only.

I took my date here today and I gotta say I was not expecting this place to be so big! What a wonderful place to bring friends and family too in Waco! I think they need more advertising because I had no idea this place was so well stocked full of animals! I had so much fun today and saw animals I thought I would never get to see in my life! The staff was fun and friendly and the place was relatively clean and kept (considering this years challenges). I will be coming back and I encourage everyone to pay this wonderful place a visit.

This zoo is large enough and small enough to hit just the right tone for encountering a myriad of creatures up close without burning out trying to see the whole thing. I live near Columbus Ohio which has one of the top 10 zoos in the country. However I have enjoyed this experience much more in that I was able to be closer to see and observe comfortably the marvelous creatures they care for and help preserve. Both the adults and the grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Weve been to Cameron Park Zoo many times and it is always great. Very clean and well kept. The animals seem happy and are definitely well fed. Everytime I am there, they are just surrounded by food everywhere you look. You can get very up close and personal with the animals which is what i love the most about it. You can also feed the giraffes which is my daughters favorite thing to do. They have a couple different places to eat. They have decent food and the prices arent too bad for a zoo. It is definitely a great place to go with the family!

This is a very nice zoo. They have 49 exhibits & they are adding a penguin exhibit soon. It took us about 3 hours to do the whole thing, but we do like to take our time. The Orangutans were my favorite. They seemed to be showing off. They are so smart & playful. Their habitat there was enormous - they had so much room to move - and they enjoyed every inch of it!In my opinion, it is not wheelchair or walker friendly because of the steep inclines & declines. We didnt bring our son today because we didnt know what to expect & Im kinda glad we didnt. Hes an adult & 135 pounds +/- and it would have been difficult to push him through this zoo. Everyones different & this is just my opinion. The only complaint I have is that there were parts that smelled really, really bad. Like old, rotten &/or moldy smells. Im not talking about the poop or anything youd expect at a zoo, but these were like faulty pumps or unclean ponds or inadequate ventilation. Maybe there is not money for upkeep right now - Im sure attendance is not what it normally is during COVID. Hopefully attendance will pick up & these issues can be resolved.

A nice variety of animals ...many of the trails were tree covered and in the shade ...virus procedures in place to protect human visitors and animals that could be infected by humans. Our daughter was visiting from out of town - we enjoyed our zoo visit together. Suggestion: The paper map and signage were not as clear as they should be. Both are confusing. They should be reviewed and revised.

The last time I visited was about 5 years ago and I remember the zoo being beautiful and a lot of areas being closed for improvement. We came here Saturday and I was eager to see what all they had done. However I was disappointed. Everything seemed to look worn out. Even the bathrooms have spiderwebs everywhere. The Jaguar exhibit looked exactly the same as it had years ago when I clearly remember them having signs up saying they were going to expand it. The glass on the exhibit were foggy, the playground area looked unkept, it was just sad.

Overall it was nice. I marked off 2 stars due to the food situation. A weekend day, full parking lot, and only one window open at 2 different food options?? Poor planning! Lines were 20-30 people deep, cashier moving at snail speed. The zoo should plan a little better....have more staff assigned. It’s much easier to send them home is business does not warrant the staff, than it is to make it work. To top it off, menu had half the items unavailable. I get it, we’re in this “pandemic” — well people want in, and they want to eat, I suggest planning for that.

Using a San Antonio zoo membership, we managed to get three adults and a child in for under $30. The zoo is so much nicer than I went in expecting. If youve been to the zoo in San Antonio, this one is much nicer and the park itself is much cleaner. Went during non-peak hours and we had the park almost to ourselves. Definitely would recommend for the variety of wildlife alone.

Some of our kids favorite exhibits, like the gibbons and the otter slide, are closed due to the corona virus, so that was a bit of a bummer. Its nice that they let you bring your own food in now, though. Also, you dont have to wear masks in the outside parts of the zoo. Our kids are little (6, 5, and almost 2), and this zoo is just about the perfect size for them. Its small enough to get through in one morning, but all their favorite animals are there. They also have a playground with splash pad that is a big hit. :)

The things I could say about this place, man I love it. Ive been coming to this zoo since I was a baby. I volunteered here one summer in 2011 and I loved every single moment. It made me fall in love with the exhibits even more. I could spend hours walking through each area. Every time I go through those gates, its like coming home all over again. It made me fall in love with the idea of being a zookeeper as a senior in high school and one day, I truly due hope to achieve it and become part of the staff. So that I can come home every day.Exhibits are educational, animals are well cared for, and the staff is always very nice and attentive when they need to be.

The zoo in Waco is amazing. And having been cross country to numerous zoos across the U.S I can say its in the top 10, now while not as big as some others. The facilities are top notch, and you can tell the keepers there have the animals best interest at heart. The walk around the zoo has plenty of shade for those hot summer days, there is a giraffe feeding deck but it can sell out so may want to check with admissions when they start. Also make sure to visit the Orangutan exhibit and see the baby, one can spend the entire day just watching him.

The animals at this zoo seem very well taken care of. My family and I enjoy coming here multiple times a year. It is best to buy a membership of you plan on going more than twice a year. This is our first year with a membership and weve been 3 times already. With the Covid, some of the areas are closed for the safety of the animals and other areas are gated so you ha r to stand further back but its still a wonderful experience. My toddler enjoys visiting and doesnt mine the hour long drive to get here. This is a smaller zoo but still worth going. Our favorite animals here are the rhinoceros, giraffe, elephants, tigers and lions. There are plenty more animals to see but these are the ones we circle to multiple times. There is also a small aquatic area that is hood on hot days to cool down.
