I just Love going to San Xavier Mission Church, been coming here from Phoenix for over 40 yrs! I moved here a year 1/2 ago and just come back more often now. It lifts my Spirits and gives me a sense of PEACE & LOVE evertime! Great Gift shop, too!Great Fry bread sold here.. ️

Go here!! Wow. Stunning. History is incredible. Out side vendors are decently priced and very good food. Gift shops were very nice, above average price but it goes to the mission.

Call before you go!! Unfortunately, the church itself was closed when I was there. The Hours listed here were the office hours, not the hours the church itself was open for viewing. So I will have to go back sometime. But the gift shop at the church was amazing! The mission received a lot of my money that day. There are also two shops on the edge of the parking lot away from the church. I had to exit the first one right away due to the overpowering amount of burnt sage in the place. But I think it featured some native grass and wood crafts. The second shop (which also had a little snack bar) was very nice. Incredibly intricate bead weaving jewelry and very nice wood and nail crosses were my favorites. Salesgirl was very friendly and funny. She made it a delightful shopping experience.

Great place to come and see a bit of Arizona history. Small facility is open to the public and still supports the community it has served for over 300 years. Well worth the drive if you are ever in the Tucson area.

Due to covid you have to wear a mask. You can take 2! steps forward when inside, take your photo, and immediately exit to the left. Still, its a beautiful church. The drive to it is also picturesque, you will want to stop and take a photo from a mile on the main road.

Well, a friend from Panama came to visit and it was the first time for her in Arizona. I checked on the website and the hours were open till 4:00 o’clock. We got there and it was closed. Another visitor went in to the office and told us the priest was opening for him and asked us not to leave which I appreciated. We followed him and the priest” asked me If I was with the other visitor and his friends, I said no. I am another visitor and my friend came from San Antonio. He told me was closed how come is closed if he came to open the door and let them see the church inside? God bless this guy who I was told it was the priest.

San Xavier is a very special place. Construction started in the 1700s and current restoration is looking great. This wonderful place of Arizona history is a must visit for all visiting the Tucson area. There are bathrooms, and a great gift shop. Basically, this place and Tubac is where Arizona history all began.

A very cool place! The views are great on the little hill with the cross on top next to the church. The church itself is beautiful and the history is interesting. I never had a chance to eat from one of the food vendors because I had eaten already and I didn’t know that was going to be an attraction. Next time for sure because the food looks awesome! ️

This place is just straight up HISTORY.No trip through the Tucson area is complete without stopping by the Mission.Built in the mid 1700s this place has more history than most other places in the US.And about 100 yards to the south is a great authentic little market put together by the tribesmen of the Indians that have lived there for dozens of generations.Go in and talk to them, they are about the friendliest people imaginable, and dont be afraid to try the Indian frybread with honey!

A very unique and spiritual landmark to visit. It has a lot of history and its very well kept. Great place for meditation and to have a conversation with God.We went on a Sunday so there was a small market where they sold fried bread, sodas, among other sweet things. The parking is in pebbles and the front area that you have to cross prior to reaching the church is not paved, be sure to wear comfortable shoes.I will definitely return when Im back in town.

Just as beautiful as it was when I visited as a child 29 years ago! The whole time on the way there I kept hoping someone still made the fry bread I remembered from childhood and they do and it was just as good as I remembered! It was an even better experience this time as I was with my own wife and children and they all enjoyed themselves! It was liking walking back in time as memories returned as I saw things I remembered from childhood and new things I didnt remember. Free admission and easy parking are a plus. Very easy to see from the highway and easy to find with gps directions. Definitely make a stop here if you are visiting Tucson, you wont regret it!

What a beautiful and Christ-centered place to visit. Be respectful when you visit, so not disturb anyone should there be a service underway. We didnt know what to expect and are glad we stopped. Its easy to spend a few hours here. There is a gift shop with a wide variety of souvenirs should you want something. Nice gardens on the grounds too. We stopped by on a Saturday, across the road vendors were setting up to sell food, that was fun a quick bite too. I loved the architecture.

Well, Mission San Xavier del Bac is a great place to visit when you are in the Tucson area. Really neat visit a few miles south of Tucson. They accept donations, but it’s free to park and visit. Tours were offered, though we only managed to catch the last 15 min of one when we visited. There’s clearly been a lot care put into preserving this Mission, and we heard during our tour there are only a handful of Missions like these still around (located well outside a major city). I’d definitely recommend checking it out!

I included the picture on here, however, if you cant make out the info, you should be able to find them through a quick google search. The intricacies and details inside of the church are amazing and you cannot fully appreciate it unless you see it in person as pictures do not do it any justice.
