I had a perfect stay here. I should preface by saying that I often stay at four or five star hotels and boutique hotels so I was a little skeptical of a motel. The Tuxon is like a boutique, modern hotel with retro Americana roadside accents. The rooms are super clean with walk-in showers. The hotel has a large welded metal fence and gate for security so we felt pretty safe there.The pool is enormous and slightly heated so one can easily lounge for an hour or two without feeling cold. There are pool floats that you can use as well as TVs viewable from the pool. The cabanas are a nice amenity when the sun is in full force. The pool and common areas are kept pretty spotless!Cristina and Jocelyn were very friendly and helpful! They supplied us with refreshments, beers, and an occasional bite.Highly recommended if youre looking for a boutique, chic experience meets roadside Americana!

We stopped here on our cross country road trip and boy was I impressed! The location caused a bit of skepticism but as soon as I walked in I felt at ease. We were greeted by a very nice, friendly employee, and check in was a breeze. The lobby/restaurant/bar area is so cute I would have had a drink during non-covid times. The hotel and parking area are surrounded by a wall and entry gate and the employees do checks around the complex. When we got to the room, I was so happy and impressed by the design. The shower and amenities are awesome, softest hotel towels Ive ever used! The bed was comfy and room was quiet. Loved it!

Lovely boutique-style motel just 15 minutes from some epic saguaro trails and Sentinel Peak. The breakfast was delish, the amenities modern, and the rec room is a nice perk. Despite being so close to the I-10, the room was very quiet. Would stay again!

The room is clean and quiet. Love the shower and the amenities. Did not have a chance to try the breakfast but they do have great coffee. The bar areas is very charming.Very secure. We love how the hotel gate closed at 9pm.My husband and I enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay from just a one night to 3 nights. We felt like we were at the W Hotel. This is a hidden gem.The staff is very accommodating to us and our puppy.

The Tuxon is a newly opened Hotel. It is so cool how they took a Motel 6 and completely turned it upside down and rebuilt all of the pieces. The bar is amazing with great taps, mixed drinks, cans, and great food. The rooms are remodeled with a California feel. The pool also gives you the same feel. The entire property is gated. When you arrive you buzz in and check in. After that the adventure is on! The pool is comfy and the rooms are as well. Its a great place to stop in and close to everything Tucson. Rhiannon was very welcoming and handled the customers with warm hospitality. She also was one of the better bar tenders that I have had the pleasure of meeting. We loved this cool hotel during our brief stay in Tucson. They did a fantastic job remodeling, the exterior is retro, but the hotel rooms themselves are super modern and sleek. We enjoyed the pool area, which they have set up nicely for social distancing. Friendly staff, everyone wore masks. Also very pup friendly! Area is kind of sketch, but we never felt unsafe or uncomfortable.

5 out of 5 outstanding customer service. Rooms are very clean and neat. Siting pool side is awesome fun for the whole family. Great bar has everything you want. Great location and even better value.

The Hotel is beautiful, modern and Super Clean. The staff from every position were amazing, friendly and helpful. I would be back at this Hotel, once I visit Tucson again.

New, very clean and comfortable bed!

I was very impressed with the hotel. Nice fun pool which we had to rent a room to use for 2 hours crowd control and you know why. Rooms were all redone with a barn mirror door for the bath room. The subway titles look nice for the shower from floor to ceiling. No tub but fine. The rooms are tight with 2 queen beds which we had. You had a small work station with a chair. Over all very nice job on the remodel.

A 60’s vibe remodeled hotel. Room was remodeled and decorated really nicely. Good location. Stayed there for two nights. Would stay there again if I find myself in Tucson again!

These guys did a good job retrofitting an old motel 6 (or something like it) to something pretty attractive for the cost/money. Slept well. Windows seem to be double paned for noise. 4 stars for not putting me in the best room available (which isn’t much at a property) given that it was almost empty given the pandemic and I told them my Marriott Titanium status. I had to ask for it. I got it but... Also the first room had water on the floor from a leaking floor a/c unit. Also good was the a/c unit in our room was nice and cold. Overall good job. Given the original property.

This was a well done remodeled hotel. Very nice comfortable rooms. The pool area was absolutely Beautiful! We did not get the breakfast that was included in our purchase. Not sure if that was on our lack of communication or theirs. A bit pricey wish I could have found a better rate. A 5 to 6 oz mixed drink was $9 seemed a little up there. All in all I enjoyed my stay and would return. Wonder if they offer day passes I would love to go to just the pool with my kiddos.

Everythings well except for the shower. It had no privacy and the body wash was rum flavored? Also, the shampoo and conditioner had two different scents. Who does that? Furthermore no microwave.

We really like what theyve done to make this place fresh and updated. A lot of touches of style and design and whimsy put smiles on our faces the whole time.

Rhiannon was Amazing she helped us out, and was a great bartender. The drinks are great and she was very kind and took her time to make sure we were well taken care of. Recommend 100%. Make sure to ask for Rhiannon she will get you taken care of.

We found a hair in the sink when we checked in. The rooms were extremely small. The pool area was nice and so was the staff.

Beautiful redone hotel with a rustic western finish, had the pleasure of meeting Rhiannon who serviced A+ drinks and tattoo real ness. Can confirm the rice Krispe treats are good as well!Will be staying here in the future!

Strange realization of a Design Hotel group property. Large, recently renovated 60s motel in sketchy neighborhood, adjucent to freeway. Nicely renovated interiors with walk-in showers, although building exteriors have seen next to no upgrades. Large central pool area prone to party scenes (noise). Very helpful and friendly staff. Management not enforcing Marriott covid mask mandate (10-2020).

What a great hotel! We stacationed here after watching it being built the last 6 months. The location is in an interesting area but they do a great job securing the property. The rooms are top of the line. We loved having Alexa able to play music on command and wake us up on time.Pool is excellent and we rented a cabana for the day to hang out and have some privacy. I highly recommend trying this place.Staff was super nice and very helpful with a couple special requests I made. Big thanks for Tim and Christina for taking care of us. We’ll be back again!

In the midst of a move, my daughter and i needed a convenient place to stay in tucson. the TUXON had just opened and we booked a stay for two nights (which turned to three) in a dbl queen room. as a former tucson resident, we had stayed in many hotels and TUXON is hands down one the best. the completely renovated motel (former motel 6?) is high end on so many fronts: fantastic mattress and pillows/linen, beautiful and efficient bathroom with walk in shower and malin+goetz products, and a lovely appointed room including a super cute and great sounding marshall bluetooth speaker. but beside the lovely room, the big surprise was the gorgeous pool bar. completely new construction, the vibe was retro-modern and so damn fun. the menu had been scaled down due to COVID, but we were able to start our days with one of the best breakfasts in town - greek yogurt with homemade granola, that was so good we asked to purchase in bulk for our road trip - and a cinnamon bun (we were in a hurry, so needed something quick). dinner menu was also limited and we noshed our way through shareable plates including pickled vegetables, southwestern salads and seasonal handhelds, along with some great cocktails.i can’t imagine opening a new hotel in the middle of a pandemic and hiring/training new staff, but the employees here were over the top friendly and accommodating, most notably the GM. the pool was stunning with cabanas and all-day sun, and all of the little extras you never know you need until you don’t - like sunscreen!after many staycations this year - including recent stays at the marriott star pass, hacienda del sol, and even hotel mccoy right down the street (which was meh at best), i can’t wait to come back and stay at the TUXON, and spend a little more time lounging at the pool with a cocktail.

Disappointed. its referenced as a 5 star hotel. its layout and overdesign resembles a motel 6. oh yeah it right next to it. the room interuor are a 3 to 4 star quality. i wouldnt stay recommend it unlesd you think its a 3 star hotel.

Wouldnt even give it one star. Girl in front desk was not trainned correctly and manegment is eally rude. I told the front desk girl not to do a reenburment on card because i would lose the only Imoney i had for a room. She did it anyways. I grabbed a card to call the general manager and he was even more mad asking me.where I was able to get his phone number. Waited another hour for the assistant manager hoping she would be able to help me and only told me I would not be able to get a room because I didnt have the money. They do not care about the customer.

When you look on this page the hotel says pet friendly for dogs and cats . However this is not the case if you book online and have cats your screwed if they find out you have cats since they actually don’t take cats . They should really fix this since it says they do .

I decided to spend my birthday during a pandemic at the Tuxon. First and foremost I knew that the GM was all over proper protocol after reading many blogs where is experitse is utilized regarding COVID protocol in the hospitality industry. The Tuxon is very clean and beautiful. We arrived on a Monday and were greeted by the assistant GM --she made us feel like family instantly--which is what a boutique experience is supposed to feel like. Our room was inspected and tagged clean by the assistant GM and she made sure to see if we needed anything else.Our room was beautiful and extremely clean. The towels were fluffy and the king bed was super comfy. We loved the decor --it was very boutique feeling--southewestern with a touch of 1970s cowboy retro. I feel like the best part of the entire day was when we were out by the pool and I had purchased 2 beers. We had them sitting on the table when out of the blue --an employee, Rhinnanon came out with a bowl of ice and told us it was for the beer to keep it cold. To me --that was what boutique means. WOW factor points for sure. As I mentioned multiple time we just felt like family. The hotel was not too busy as it was a Monday-Tuesday stay --it still was perfect for my birthday and exactly what we were looking for. I would highly recommend a stay here if you are in Tucson. The Tuxon is beautiful and the perfect boutique experience. The price for the Tuxon is right on par and is worth every penny. Thank you Tuxon for the wonderful get away.

The Tuxon is a mediocre hotel at best, although the interior of the Hotel is very nice, the pool area is very nice, and the rooms are very nice. It is the exterior that makes it look like a semi run down hotel when you first see it. The exterior is a big problem for this hotel as it simply does not meet the standards of the interior.

Amazing new hotel and experience over July 4th weekend! We loved staying at The Tuxon, and found the design and art was truly unique. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about local activities and highlights, and made our trip even more memorable. Highly recommend the poolside bar and boozy slushies! Our new go to in Tucson-- we’ll definitely be back soon!

Hotel is great. Staff are nice

The whole place was so cute! The room was very clean and nicely updated. The only downside was you had to make a reservation for the pool due to Covid and I got a room with a pool just to escape the heat. Not a big deal, the TV was great and I could use my login to watch my usual shows on Netflix.

Such a great little gem in a perfect easy off/easy on location for trips south of Phoenix. I was passing through late night - and had to leave early, so couldn’t visit much of the offerings, but felt my carload/trailer and I were safe and comfortable. Plenty of parking and nice updates.
