Great place to walk. Well paved path plus little side paths through the woods. The deer must be used to people, they stayed in their grazing areas and just watched us as we walked by.

This park is an awesome place to walk, too just go and chill and get your head together to relieve stress. Great place for dog walking

Quiet and sunny areas to park and play ball or have a picnic. Clean public restrooms are open during the day.

Its a nice walk but dont let your dog anywhere near the grass. Its tick infested. First time I pulled roughly 50 off him and we were only there for 2 minutes. He ran out of the car, onto the grass, and came off licking his leg. Noticed a ton of them on his leg. Just today we went again and there were probably closer to 100 of them. The place needs to be sprayed.

Park was nice for a good walk, but Beware of **ticks** there were a ton of em, which sucked because we had a dog and he was INFESTED. We also ran into a few spider webs, so I would just maintain the place better.. lots of potential.

Gorgeous!!!! A nature-lovers dream!! There are hiking trails, an asphalt path for bikers, meandering dirt paths deep in the woods and the beautiful hidden river running through it. We saw chipmunks, deer and even a snake! There is a large variety of birds which are living here and they create a symphony of birdsong.

I love it. This is where I brought all my new girlfriends. Im a #1 cheater.

Nice place to explore! I would recommend biking as it’s a very long walk to see the sights. There is a small playground and some picnic tables. I didn’t make it far enough to see everything but it was a beautiful day!

Beautiful park. Well maintained and serine. We went to a birthday party in a pavilion there and it was lovely. Theres plenty of parking, the pavilion was clean and built to be sturdy and beautiful. It was a Sunday afternoon but we only saw a few people walking around. Dogs need to be kept on a leash, so theres no worry about a dog joining the party. I will consider renting the pavilion myself for a future party. It was a beautiful setting for a party of any kind and very large with clean metal picnic tables and trash cans around. Even if it had been raining youd be well protected from the elements. And we were quite surprised and pleased that there didnt seem to be any bugs aroundVery nice idea for a different venue.

Great trail for walks

Very relaxing walk

I love going here with my family & we always have a great time. This park is perfect for a relaxing bike ride or a romantic walk. It has a lovely stream running along side the trail. The turnoffs can get confusing as there are no signs.

Best place in town to walk around on a beautiful day. 100% recommended for everyone.

Quiet, low-key park

Nice place for a family party. There were a lot of yellow jackets flying around though.

Great for little walks. Mostly people go to bike and walk their dogs. They have little areas where one can cook.

Park is creepy, but unfortunately nothing else around to take a long walk. Only good thing is sometimes you see deer run right in front of for a good photo.

I use this park mainly for photography. Pictures look like Im someplace exotic.

I always really liked this park, but it has been somewhat neglected by the township lately. Its not that they havent spent some money on it, just that I feel their efforts have been misguided. They redid the picnic area because they can charge people a rental fee on it. They have redone the bathrooms recently, but theyre usually locked unless theres a picnic or ball field rental. County Parks have facilities open all day, they should too. The Compassionate Friends garden is still nice but only because they care for it themselves. But the township has neglected the parts of the park that nature lovers like... removing tables and benches from waterfront areas, not properly caring for trails, etc. The parts that dont bring in money arent getting any love at all. Ten years ago I called this park the jewel of the Toms River parks system, today I visit and am just saddened by the way that it is managed.

My neighborhood backs right up to this park. Its a great place to bike, walk, or even play baseball. Certain places are more solemn in the park than others, like the childrens memorial garden. Over all, the whole park is still close to the natural state of the pine barrens and is beautiful in its own way. There is many paved trails and unpaved trails to suit whatever kind of nature walk you want to take.

Great park love to bring my dog here an walk the area.Would like it if for once I went there and the bathroom was unlocked or if the was a porta-jonh will hand sanitizer on the premises.Other than that I love this park so peaceful! Most people that you walk by are very friendly aswell

Winding River Park is a great place to get in touch with nature, explore trails, jog or ride a bike in a park with beautiful scenery and wildlife. Tranquil, quite and peaceful is how you will feel after you take a long walk through the park. It also has various picnic areas and sports and recreation options for those that want to enjoy a nice meal in nature or work up a sweat playing sports. Highly recommended.
