The place is quite spacious with bike trails as well. There is no entrance or parking fee. The place is well kept. If you need to use a shelter you need to reserve it in advance. There are multiple restrooms at the place. No liquor is allowed. Pets must be leashed. Good place to relax.

I didnt know, and Im sure many others didnt as well but Lake Tarpon is the third largest lake in the State of Florida! What! really? and its right here in Anderson Park! Beautiful place 2 just be but has many options which include boat ramp hiking trails, Lakeside Boardwalk, picnic areas with grills, all kinds of Wildlife, including Gators. Covered Pavilions which are reservable. just a cool place to be and still be in the city... oh and did I mention a free mulch pile for the taking? Just come & Get It. And whoever was responsible for the stonework and overall layout of the space should receive extra kudos!!! Nicely done!

We had a very nice time visiting A.L Anderson Park. This was our 3rd time there. We got to see at least one alligator during each visit. We saw 3 alligators today. We saw two from the boardwalk. We also saw lizard, butterflies, exotic birds, huge grasshoppers and two Red-Shouldered Hawks. There is a dog park for your furry family members. They have a large number of pavilions you can reserve too. This is a great little park.

This is a hidden treasure! How many people drive right past this beautiful park on US19 every day. Stop and check out the beautiful scenery. Park that car and use your legs to walk around a bit. Tarpon Lake is really nice. It was windy that day.

AL Anderson Park is a beautiful place to take an afternoon walk or have a family picnic. We have done both there and I really enjoyed going here. There are plenty of shelters or you can enjoy a nice afternoon with the family. I also enjoy the trails through the lake in around the edges of the water where you can see alligators and turtles and fish. I definitely recommend you go there and check this place out. You won’t regret it

Best dog friendly park around but dont feed the gators.Gators will then associate people with food and when they do that they start to follow people. When they follow people they start mixing with children and pets and thats never good - so do not feed the gators.Umm, Im getting side tracked.Anderson Park is awesome. Lake tarpon is huge. Theres a dog park even though most places are dog friendly. Theres a playground and pavilions you can reserve. There are restrooms and a boat dock also.

The park is very well maintained from parking, pavilions, paths, tables and grounds. There is a walking path from pavilion one to the back end of park. Through trees and on a Boardwalk along lake. The are out cropings from path with tables to sit right by waters edge. Very peaceful walk with nice scenery. Great place to picnic also has a launch point for boats. I was able to spot four alligators in the lake on my visit. There is swings for kids and ample trash cans around to keep park clean. Not a long walking path maybe 1/2 mile at most so hiking is not happening here. This is a relax, see view, go for a stroll hang out and have picnic place. Does all that very well.

This is an easy boat ramp for Lake Tarpon. There was a tournament going on the day we were there and most trailer parking spaces were taken, however we didnt feel that it was too crowded out on the lake. We waited just a few minutes to pull the boat out once we returned.

Lovely park with a well maintained and operated public boat ramp. There is plenty of launch space at the ramp and the parking area is easily navigated. there is a $6 daily parking/use fee and the credit card reader works most of the time. The way the parking is setup requires non-trailered vehicles to drive through the ramp area to park. Thats a bit of an issue when the ramp is busy, but it hasnt been a major issue for me.

Beautiful taste of old Florida just off busy Highway 19. Wonderful pavilions and picnic tables right on the water. Keep an eye on your stuff in the parking lot. Florida has plenty of felons eager to steal your stuff. Easter Sunday, a family left their camp chairs and table by their car to look at the lake and a black truck drove up and tossed all their stuff in the back and took off.

This is a BEAUTIFUL park. Lots of room to roam, play, walk the dogs, grill, picnic, boat, and fish. HOWEVER, for some really bizarre reason, (they claim to save money) during the week, the RESTROOMS ARE CLOSED!!!@@@$%^! ONE RESTROOM IN THE VERY FRONT OF THE PARK IS THE ONLY ONE OPEN. So all you parents cant bring the kiddies or the dogs to play during the week, unless you want to pack them all up, buckle them in and drive to the front of the park to use the restroom. They are only open on the weekends. BUT the rest of the park is open???? Come on folks...people have need of a restroom on weekdays too. Could the good folks in charge do a rethink on this one? PLEASE?

The park is beautiful. It is great by yourself, with a small group or large. There are private small picnic areas all along the lake.perfect for a quiet lunch or with a few family or friends. Each area has a charcoal grill. There are Also medium and large pavilions with charcoal grills. There are public restrooms all over the park. There is a public boat ramp with a vending machine for daily permits to use the boat ramp. There is a walking trail that skirts the park. It runs along side of the lake. We spent a very enjoyable afternoon exploring the park. There are also numerous playgrounds for the kids. You can bring your dog as there is a dog park here too. The park is free. A+

This park is the best, its comin in hot with lake Tarpon featuring these cool little personal table/grill fingers over the lake. If one grabs his/her Razor scooter, the slight elevation in spots throughout the park provides a speedy, somewhat thrilling descent. Anderson Park has some wonderful views of Lake Tarpon and is worth a visit. They have boat ramps, a playground, a dog park, a boardwalk, and covered pavilions. The view from the hill on the right side of the park (by the playground and dark park) is well worth a visit. You wont be able to see very much from the parking lot however, once you go up the small stairs (or the slightly steep slope), youre met with a magnificent view of the lake. Dont fret, there is additional parking at the bottom of the hill that offers adequate handicap parking, coupled with a paved sidewalk that will take you to the covered pavilion on the water.Things to consider:Not all of the bathrooms are open during the week days. Not a sunset park.

Do not take your dogs to the park. You will spend more money on flea medicine than its worth. Stay away from dog parks! All dog parks not just this one.
