Great family park. Had my grandsons party there. It was great! I highly recommend this park to anyone.
Best place to take the little ones. Is a white sand beach which means very clear water. parking is 5 dollars for the whole day. the water is very shallow and you see fish swimming around you from the moment you arrive. Is a family oriented and respectful environment. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to relax with their little kids.
Lots of seaweed. The sand had lots of shells that hurt your feet. It had lots of trash laying around. They only good part was it was not crowded. Not recommended, I’m not going back.
Great park! Nice little beach. Very clean too. Many thanks to all the folks at Pinellas county for keeping the park nice for so many years.
My husband and I went there for a relaxing day on the beach. We got there around 12:30 on a weekday and had no problem finding parking. Parking is $5 for the day. The beach was nice and we even got to see several dolphins! Well definitely go back again!
One of my favorite beaches to watch the sunset! We bring family here every visit. Great for more privacy on beach.
Great place to watch Sunset and get into water. Need to drive from park to get into the beach area and parking is $5. Beautiful view on every side of this place.
Beautiful quick getaway to indulge in balmy breezes and peaceful sounds of nature. I stalked the water fowl and soaked in the tittering sounds of the birds surrounding me.
Very clean and safe for families with kids. Wonderful sandy beaches with nice restrooms and outdoor showers
Beautiful and peaceful park. The water is clear. Can see a lots of small fish swimming in the water.
Great park to go to for a variety of activities. They have shelters to have outside gatherings, childrens playground, hiking trails, kayak trails through mangroves, and swimming beaches. So much to do! They also have a rental place for kayaks, water bikes, and more when you drive out to the island past the main park. At that point parking is $5, but its for the whole day. Great place to go with your family to get out of the house and get some fresh air!
Definitely a very beautiful place to enjoy. The beach is beautiful and there are plenty of places to walk. The sunsets are beautiful to watch and there are also many forms of wildlife. I have seen dolphins jumping as well as stingrays. Highly recommend. My only criticism is the parking fee of $5. May seem like a small thing to complain about but when I came here years ago, there was no fee. Probably picky on my part but that’s my lone gripe with the place.
Great public beach. Beautiful area.
Fred Howard beach great place to watch beautiful Florida sunsets. I go there usually to do sunset photo shoots for models. Unlike some of the other beaches in Tampa Bay area, this Fred Howard Park closes 0.5hr after the sunset. For photographers, it is very important because that where the beautiful color displays in the sky happens. The park has beautiful green areas, kids playgrounds, trails, and many more. They have enough parking spaces available. There is a $5 daily parking fee at the beach.
Its always windy here so you can cool off easily and its a good spot for kiteboarding and windsurfing.
This is a beautiful island attached by a causeway right near Tarpon Springs Florida.Great space for vacationers and its not real crowded like some of the other beaches. If youre looking for a natural beach I highly would recommend visiting Fred Howard Park.
This Pinellas County Beach park offers $5 all day parking, public restrooms, kayak, paddle board and water toys rentals. Perfect white sand and family friendly beach. Dogs are not allowed on the beaches but are allowed in the park. Perfect place to relax and kick back..
Excellent park with many different options for families. Beautiful and clean beaches. Nice causeway to walk or run. Beautiful trails for hiking. We go here all the time!
Beautiful little beach, very clean only $5/ for all day parking. I didnt use the bathrooms but it looked like there were several available. No bbq close to the beach but there are pavilions available with grills. Plenty of space for social distancing
Small park and beach, but absolutely fantastic for picnics, fun, beautiful views and gorgeous sunsets. /
Beautiful park with a beach! Great for all kinds of activities.
We love using this park! It has such a wonderful family atmosphere and the beach is awesome! Also the grounds are kept up very well by the staff and just the other day I ran into park ranger R. Young who was gracious enough to spend some time letting us know about some of the features of the park in the surrounding area. It is always awesome to know people like him work in places like this caring enough to take time to hang out with the guests. I really do appreciate him and his managers!
Love this park, forget about clearwater. This is where I take my out of town family when they visit.
Better then sunset beach, but not by much. The sand is about the same and they have you pay for parking unless you want to walk. The beach is a little better kept, theres not much seaweed or sea grass on the beach itself, but theres still plenty in the water. Larger general beach area and theres forested wildlife trails with decent jogging, biking, skating areas.
Labor Day at Fred Howard was actually really good- weather was perfect all day, late day rain shower, surprisingly not a ton of people, beach & grounds were very clean along with the Social Distancing respectfully implemented by all! Still minus a star for the ridiculous flat rate $5.00 parking fee for 5 mins or all day. Other local parks arent even that high. My paid taxes cover it as it is!
Beautiful park with beautiful views. Though it was quite cold and windy, it ended up being a beautiful morning anyway, with a stunning sunrise, colorful skies, and gracefully swaying palm trees. It was very quiet on this cold and windy winter morning, so not sure how crowded it gets, but really enjoyed having it mostly to ourselves while we were there.
Beautiful park and beach area took my Granddaughter who just turned 1 yr old she loved it !!!
Best park in the area, we drive all the way from Port Richey on the regular basis to go here. They have everything you could want. Nature trials, bike trails, kayak drops, a nice Beach, multi fishing spots, playgrounds, softball fields, and much much more.
Great place to watch the sunset and find some cool things!
Nice park great place for a walk lots of shade and even a non tourist Beach if youre into that
I like riding my bike to this park. It’s a nice place and relaxing.
It was sooo fun I personally think it was pretty my family loved it.
Beautiful place with gorgeous sand and nice views! Only bummer is that there is a lot of seaweed in the water. You have maybe 30ft of sand before thick seaweed covers the ground, but even in the sandy zone there is tons of seaweed floating around. As I like the be in the water all day we ended up leaving after 20 minutes. Bummer that we paid $5 for parking. If youre just planning to sit on the beach or dont mind the seaweed this place is great. If you want to swim or dont like seaweed touching you at all times this place is not for you!
Peaceful. Got there on a rainy day. Theres a charge to cross the bridge (into the beach.... Not sure). We didnt make it further, I wasnt prepared to pay. Next weekend Loved sitting down to grab a sandwich with my son. Theres a trail you can walk. Some people around. You could see the fishes swimming asking and feeding from the algae in the rocks. Loved it. Will stay more next time. Great place to fish and have a Picnic. There were some BBQ stands to grill. Sad that people dont clean them after bbquing. Anywho. Great place overall. Its peaceful and calm. Will definitely return.
Nice beach. Man-made but, accessible and a good one for kids.
Rarely crowded. Ive always been able to find a place to park. Clean. Pretty quiet for a beach. Bathrooms always clean. Lots of people walking their dogs.
Beautiful white sand plenty of palm trees and clear beautiful blue sparkling water ... Lots of room on beach showers restroom s clean .... Delightful... Perfect
$5 parking until sun down. Calm waters, great for little kids. Beautiful park. You can rent kayaks, floats, umbrellas, etc. Plenty of places to put in boats and fish
One of my favorites parks to go to for sunsets, walking, taking the kids to the playground and I love that you can rent bicycles, kayaks, etc at the beach area. Highly recommend this park for anyone in the area!
Fred Howard Park has a nice little causeway that leads to the beach and is only 5$ for all day parking. If you park before the causeway there is no parking fee. Before the causway there are pavilions that can be rented for parties, a playground for children to enjoy, kayak launches, and beautiful grand oaks with Spanish moss. The park is open until dusk. On the beach there is a place to rent kayaks and paddleboards. A nice place to go to enjoy the beach and nature.
Nice park. Beach is small and clean with lifeguards on duty. The water has a LOT of turtle grass. Bathhouse with restrooms and outdoor shower area. Ample parking. 5.00 per day. There also have paddle board, paddle boat water trikes and kayak rentals. Fun place to spend the day.
Beyond peaceful and so relaxing alot of pretty wildlife and you never get tired of the view here its so quiet and not crowded as well.
This is my favorite local beach. So beautiful. We did some snorkeling and found some nice shells. Lots of hermit crabs but we left them be. Theres bathrooms, water station to rinse off, kayak and other rentals. Its a fun place to spend the day. Just beware the seagulls they will steal your food right out of your hand!
This instantly became one of my favorite places.. beautiful nature trails, amazing beach, not overly crowded
Great park for a family picnic or event. Really beautiful ocean view. Not the best for swimming because the beach had alot of seaweed.
Great beach! Parking is close to the water for those who have a more difficult time getting around. The water is calm and there are several water sports activities available for rental.
Went hiking from the trail parking lot, 1 . Up and around the island and back. You cook on the straight away. Bring enough ice waters.I will be better prepared to stay for a while next time. Definitely a 5 star place to go Best pack a lunch.
Beautiful park. Not crowded. Great place to go for a walk or run.
Great place to take kids to play safe in nature.
Gorgeous Gulf beaches. Picnic tables arent directly on the beach, but still close enough for view the water.
Love this place. Water is great very shallow, so I can take the kids. $5.00 all day parking is very reasonable to me. Just lots of seaweed, and water grass to contend with. Love how clean the staff keeps the area.
Great Park. Sun bathing fishing camping hiking. You name it you can do it..
Nice county park. Lots of seaweed. Found fish, crabs, urchins and clams in the water. Nice sunset.
A beach and a park all in one. What an amazing experience
Beautiful! The water is warm like bath water.Theres tiny fish swimming around, its cute. I found a couple of perfect seashells.
Fred Howard Park is a very popular local beach in palm harbor that has a abundance of shade and recreational rental Options along with fishing. This destination has something for everyone in the family.
Great playgrounds for the kids and long boardwalks for a nice walk. The wife open field area is perfect for playing sports/ flying kites. I came here all the time as a kid and now I bring my kids. I always recommend this park to friends
The park is clean, and there are plenty of places to access water including a beautiful beach.
It is very nice and clean. Nice place to take kids
Its a nice little beach. No waves, just calm relaxing waters. Easy to get to, with a snack truck on site and water activities to rent (water trikes, kayaks and beach bikes) There is a dog friendly areas on the bridge portion but be careful because there is a slope to get down and can be slippery. Beautiful views all around.
The beaches nice even though its small. I enjoyed the little Causeway Bridge going from The Pavilions to the beach. You get a great view of the sunrise and the sunset. The only downfall is the beach area is as not as big as I would prefer.
Loved the park. Plenty of parking, picnic areas, kid playgrounds, bike and kayak rental, small waves, nice sand and shade trees here and there. $5.00 parking all day. The go and eat delicious feel food in harpoon springs
What a beautiful place. Highly recommend it. You can rent canoe, standing boards and many other things. The water is shallow first 20 feet maybe, no big waves, it is a perfect place to bring your kids you.
Great place to spend the day in the sun and fun state. I only gave it 4 stars because alcohol is not allowed, and I would love to relax and have a couple of beers.
This place is the best park I have ever been to. Its clean, has Beautiful views, sunsets, picnic area with grills, huge shelters, restrooms on site, sand isnt too annoying, trails, canoe ..and kayak rentals, pets not allowed on the beach only in the park. Great walking distance between the rec area to the beach. I love this place!
This place is beautiful! You can rent kayaks, paddle boats... all types of things. Water is warm n clean. So beautiful!
Great beach. Clear water. Good for snorkeling!
Beach Park on the Gulf of Mexico. Plenty of parking with beach access. There is also a large green park with places to barbecue and hold events.
Park Ranger Name R. Young was unfortunately not good at delivering the fact that they arent allowing hammocks & came up to us a few times with negative tons. Not to act ridiculous however there is a way as a law enforcement personel not to act & to act & he was not doing his job with the correct ease & wisdom that he could have been. The beach & atmosphere however is amazing here. Just make sure to find better park Rangers
Wasnt too crowded. And perfect to bring boats or jet skis to
Nice park I love the set up clean, well cared for it has a hidden beach thats amazing clean and with some rentals now like kayaks and paddle boards definitely recommend this places just no shoobies please!!!
Its was not crowded at all. Unlike most beachs there was plenty of parking available. It costs $5 for the day but you do need to use a credit card.
Best beach around in my opinion. Its small, but clean and many features and rentals available. Plus its in a park, with playground and hiking, rentable shelters... $5 all day parking. Totally worth it to avoid St Pete and Clearwater lol!
Love that park. Fish if ya choose or bask in the Sun. Get there early any day of the week. So very family friendly, clean restrooms, groomed sand.
Place is so nice. Good beaches and lots of room to kayak and paddle board. Scenery is also very pretty. Great to come out and watcha a sunset or just hang for the day
Really unique beach with plenty of biking and walking areas. The water is unique because there is a lot of sea life and sea grass which is comfortable to walk through. Perfect for snorkeling and exploring!
Love coming here... Beautiful park/beach.. Always clean
Beach is super pretty. my boyfriend and i had our own little spot up on a mini hill and it was really nice and secluded which is good with everything going on. The only part that sucked was that the shore had a lot of people sitting by it so getting in the water was a little difficult
Lovely afternoon by the gulf! Enjoyed watching the para-surfers.
Love this park and beach. The water is very shallow which makes it perfect for me and our family. We flew a kite and it was awesome. Parking was super easy and for only $5 a day it’s perfectly priced.
Beautiful view, relaxing place and clear water. I love going to this place with my family or by myself.
Loved how clean. How beautiful. The water beautiful clear. I cant wait to go again. Paid parking $5.
They do not clean up the beach like the used to... sea weed comes all the way up the the beach like all around...and you can continuouslywalk out and only ever get to waist height water.. it used to be a great beach.... now you cant even swim....step it up tarpon springs!
1st class beach for a 2 year old.
Its a nice spot to watch sunsets. Also great trails for hiking and enjoy quality time with family and friends. Heads up photographer, this is a golden spot for pictures ambiance
The stingrays are swimming all around the causeway and island. Its always a beautiful way to start the day!!!
Great view but lots of sea grass growing and floating around
Great little beach, nice view, very good, definitely reccomend.
Always a great place to go, aside from the occasional human person who believes that everyone else on that beach shares their music style. Otherwise, I love coming here with the family. Got dinner great wind action for kits flying. I rarely go in the water, because Id get wet, but looks like people enjoy it.Get Some.
Great little beach. Perfect for sunsets. Not too busy.
We love to come here. Beautiful beach access through the park
Fred Howard park is a small key about half a mile off shore. It is surrounded by water on all sides, wrapped with Beachs all around and connected to the mainland by a 2 lane causeway. It is the singular best beach to view sunsets in Pinellas county.
Great beach for relaxing. Not generally overcrowded.
Nice little public park beach. Very clean, restrooms on site. Nice food truck for water ice and snacks.
Its beautiful. Wide open space. Clean beach
The beach at the end of the park is heaven. Clear, clean, and getting cold again. If you go there, help keep it clean.
