It was nice to get out and go see a movie. Basic gravel paths with built up areas to park on. It had rained earlier so the ruts were very big puddles. Restrooms were ok. If you want concessions, you need any app on your smart phone to place order and pay.
Great drive in!! Food and drinks available through fanfood app, restrooms available also. Arrive early to get best house parking up front right next to screen!!
Its not that I dislike the place as drive-ins go, its okay, nothing spectacular, after all this is Springfield. Im more accustomed to the drive Inns in the North thats paved in the parking area of the theater, larger screens, better food. But hey its cheap.
I love going to the drive in.This place is amazing.Got to give it 4 stars (not 5)can we not turn off the carousel nextdoor? The entire evening we were blinded by the lights on the carousel, which made it hard to see the movie. There is a gap in the tree line perfectly placed so that half of the audience facing the southward screen, can be blinded by the spinning lights.
For a concert, it would be really nice if they would take larger vehicles like minivans and large pick up trucks, and put them over to the side. Difficult to find a place in the middle to see over the vehicles.
A classic that I hope stays around! Tickets are purchased online and you can use your phone to scan so its quick to get in and find your spot. With the pandemic, they have cards spaced out with cones and do their best to keep to all the guidelines.
We all had a great time. Even the drunks were fun
Went to the way over priced concession stand for a bottle water. Was 3 dollars and when i give the girl a 20 she returned with 7 dollars. Waited another 10 minutes for hee to count back the rigjt change. Was not happy with that. Thought they had compadent help. Guess they only hire kids tajt cant count but 8 bucks for two full movies is great
They were very good about making sure people parked correctly & making sure people turned off all lights on their cars so the show could be enjoyed
We had so much fun watching the Metallica concert!
Very nice, we saw pulp fiction. The lot is a gravel lot, not paved, so be aware.
It was great to get out and still by e safe. They had two young men checking to make sure you parked properly and were following social distancing.
I’ve been taking my family and friends there for years love it truly recommend you take your family
Blake Shelton concert started 45 minutes late. Next was 20 Minutes of advertising. Concerts at drive ins is a horrible time!!!!
Love the family atmosphere. Clean grounds and good old fashioned fun.
Cool theatre outdoors enjoy nice family owned
I always enjoy going .. Nice selection of new movies. Great price . Ive gone there for over 40 yrs
Pretty good, navigation throughout was rough but all in all it was good.
Great atmosphere and great movies!
Movie theater is great drive in is awesome! You can park your car and watch way more comfortably that in a chair for two hours. By a better chair or in your big trunk in a van. And a way bigger screen and it is at night so teenagers could be out their with their friends too!
Great fun. Would 100% go again.
Great experience! 89.1 FM for screen 1. You get to watch two movies for the price of one ticket costing $8 per person. They have nice variety of snacks at the concession area and gives deals periodically during movies. Will def visit again. Family friendly.
We love this little drive-in. I cant wait for it to be open during the week, to avoid the movie goers who are inconsiderate when they dont follow the parking and light guidelines. The golf cart sheriff had his hands full.Bigger cars to the back, smaller cars to the front. Simple, yet hard for some. Not the fault of the drive-in.On a business note: make announcements about last call during music only scenes, and not dialogue scenes - please. The concessions are good, and can be reduced in price, just a tad.
Cant get access to radio through phone, dont want to run my car all night.
GREAT way to see a movie
The drive-in is wonderful and fun to go to. I look forward to it every summer. Its really the only time we go to the movies because you get two movies for the price of one at the normal theater and you can bring your own snacks and drinks if you want to. That said the concession stand has good food as well and is totally worth checking out. Its a great place to see the summer blockbusters at a fair price.
I really enjoy going here. Its a nice place to go with the kids and its very reasonably priced. Lots of room for the kids to run around. Even has a park.
Travelling Route 66 and had the opportunity to watch a film here. Great experience. Toilets were good. Film was good quality and sound worked perfectly through the car radio
I love this place. We bring our own snacks and drinks. The food prices are kinda high, not horrible. We seen avengers: endgame.
Absolutely love this drive-in theater it brings back a piece of nostalgia from childhood
Have not been to a drive in in years. Took the family and it was a great experience. Everyone enjoyed watching the movie. Prices were cheaper then a theater. Will defiantly be returning.
Enjoyed being at the outdoor movies.
The effort put into the nostalgia of the drive in is apparent, and while the upkeep of the facility is minimal; there is little in which to offer high praise. There is effort made to keep the experience enjoyable for all, however there is a rather rampant excess of freedoms enjoyed by some.
Unique experience you probably wont find a whole lot of other places, also the cheapest way to see a movie. Would recommend if youre in the area!
Loved every minute of it! I recommend getting there early so you can get a good spot. Defiantly worth the price we paid; $15/car minimum. We brought our own snacks and some people had chairs to sit outside of their vehicle. Over all its a great place to bring the entire family! Looking forward to going back and doing the water park!
Love getting food at a restaurant than taking to watch movies
EXCELLENT evening event for the whole family! They nearly always have the best family friendly movies and we LOVE it!! Playground, food and such a fun atmosphere - couldnt ask for a better evening with my family! THANK YOU!!
This ia our favorite place to go during summer and we live it there but the reason I give 3 stars is because of some people that does nt have any consideration to other people especially kids around when smoking cigarettes. We can deal with other stuff missed part a bit of a movie because of commercials but smoking should be a no no. If people wants to smoke, at least all the to the back where no kids around please.
What a fun time! Clean place, reasonable prices. Love that they have a double feature and playground. Love the old time commercials between shows. Wish they had a few more food options at concession stand.
Fun place to go but pricey
New Releases. AMAZING value. Family friendly atmosphere!!
Love the drive in the price is great only thing i dont like is the exit path it needs redone
Cant run AC to cool off in this heat, yet you HAVE to deal with cigarette smoke from other vehicles around u. Excuse of carbon monoxide is a JOKE! ANYone KNOWS to crack windows for this reason! NOT very HANDICAPPED friendly! Will spend my next dollar in an A/C theater.....
Good time. Its a vintage feel and experience
A great experience everyone should be able to do at least once.
The route 66 drive-in was an excellent experience. we enjoyed it very much, and will be back soon .!
Loved it 21 dollars for two adults and 8 year old and if u get there early u can watch two movies
My husband & I were visiting family in Springfield for a pre-holiday celebration. Looking for something to do. We decided to go to the drive-in. We saw Jurassic Park and Adrift. We ordered pizza from the concession. It takes 15-20 minutes to cook a whole pizza. We waited for our pizza. We were informed that our pizza was made incorrectly. We could have both pizzas but, we have to wait an additional 15-20 minutes for our pizza. They took our phone number and called when it was ready. The menu needs updating because, theres several things on the menu they no longer serve. The pizza was decent. The bathrooms needed to be attended to. All in all it was a good outing. I would go back when in Springfield again.
We are regulars when the movie is what we like, staff is nice and do what they can to make ya happy! Bring your bungee cords to hold down your hood extras for guests to share! Safety for all is all the intercom guy is trying to do! We love him!
Twin Route66 is a great family friendly Drive In! always playing the newest movies... along with having great friendly customer service as well I would definitely recommend goin there & give it five an two rather its just yourself, on a date, with friends or the family!
We love this place, best place to watch a movie 2 for the price of one!!
Helpful staff, good prices, great place to shop
We love the drive in! Its awesome and reasonably priced
Fun, well run traditional drive in. Just like when we were kids!
Pretty fun
Could not wait until they open up for the summer, one of my favorite places!
Always a great time! Bring in whatever food and drinks you want! Only downside is when they come over the speaker to tell people to turn off their car lights or how to get out of the lot cause you cant hear the movie. Missed some pretty important plot points in the beginning of the movie because of that announcement. Overall a really great and inexpensive time!
Great way to spend some time together as a family!
I had a blast! Best date idea ever!
Went a couple of times last year with the family. The grounds are properly contoured for parking your car so it is easy to see pretty much no matter where you park. The crowds are family friendly, the bathrooms not nasty and concessions are reasonable. Best part, the tickets are dirt cheap! What a great place to go! This is the kind of local business I love to support with my dollars.
Very nice and after your movie they tell you where to exit. The concession stand is very fast at getting your things ready. And the employee who takes your money tells you exactly what station to go to, to listen in your car.
Decent screens and sound. No grass to sit on, so bring chairs. The concessions are good. Prices are reasonable overall. Only downside is the park next door doesnt close until after 11, so the lights are very bright and detract from a perfectly dark viewing experience.
My grand daughter loved it Would like to go there. Reminds me of the the old days we went often then and it was fun It didnt cost much then but like everything it changed
A true drive in experience. A summer must for Springfield.
We love the drive in you cant beat the price. And you can bring your own snacks. The restroom and the snack bar is clean.
Im so happy we still have a drive-in in Springfield. This place is the best place to watch a new release in Sangamon county. Tickets are cheap and concessions are way better quality than at AMC at a lower price. If you want, you can also bring your own grub. Nothing beats the drive in, especially for horror movies.
Awesome
Great family fun for a cool summer night.
Love this. Its bringing back the fun of the drive-in. They have TWO screens, and usually offer 2 movies on each screen--often they let you watch both movies for the price of one admission.Sometimes they have specials where theres one price for a whole car load of people.
We love it!! They have current popular movies great selection for kids always! The little food area has very little variety and the food is outlandishly priced, the bathrooms are well kept
How can you not love a drive in! Food is cheap, the staff makes sure the van tailgates do not block the views and even jump start you when your battery dies. 2 first run movies in your car on your own chair I love this place. I am so glad we have this in Springfield ! THANKs!Dont forget to click like if the review helps
Great experience! And great food!
Its very nice to still have a drive in movie to go to.We love going to the drive in as a family. Sometimes we can make through both movies but usually only one before our daughter is tired. Thats the great thing though, you pay admission for one movie and can stay for the second one playing on the screen after intermission if you want to.
Always a great time with the family.
To me its the best place to go see a movie with kids. The kids can move around and be a little loud without ruining everyones experience. The place is clean and the staff friendly.
Took my friend who had never gone to a drive in before. He had a BLAST! I just wish they hadnt been out of T-shirts... Hell never get how much fun we had and neither will I!
They need to update the movies would go more but they play the same. Also was told to park in like behind everyone then they opened all the lanes up and around several people who just pulled.in to cut. The announcer is kind of rude as well. Sounds like he hates his job
A 2 screen drive inn what more can you ask for?? A water park and go carts and driving range next door.
People in concession stand dont know what there doing .To expensive for popcorn. And price to get in 8.00 12 and older .. Im thinking only a few special times to go. not a weekly visit
Driving historic Route 66 from Chicago to St. Louis and saw they had a drive-in theater in Springfield. Checked their website which showed movie times for Tuesday, 8/26/15. We were really excited to see a movie at an old time drive-in. Changed our plans to stay in Springfield overnight so we could do so. Drove out to theater about 3:30 p.m. and marquis was on. Website showed movie times for that night specifically starting at 8:35 pm. Checked into a hotel, had dinner and ready to go to theater. Got there at 8:10 p.m. and theater was completely dark with no lights on. Thought maybe they were late getting there. Checked website again 15 minutes later when no activity and still showed movies starting at 8:35 pm for that evening. Called phone number and got amusement park next door who told us that drive-in is only open on Friday and Saturday nights. Completely wasted our time. THEIR WEBSITE SHOULD NOT ANNOUNCE SHOW TIMES FOR DATES THEY ARE NOT OPEN!!!! Very disappointing.....we could have easily made St. Louis for the night which was our original plan.
Always a great place to go to the weekends
Absolutely love the drive in experience. The only problem I had was that I missed some of the dialogue in the second movie due to them interrupting it in order to sell discounted popcorn. I think that should have been done during the first movies credits.
My Granddaughter love the Route 66 Drive In.
Its been years since I went to a drive in. What a fun, throw-back experience. If you stay for the double feature, which I didnt, its a great value. Go and enjoy.
Twin drive in theater. New movies. Nice consession stand. Fair prices. Well maintained
Glad to see there is still a drive still open
Love this place, love still being to take the kids to something old fashioned. Two movies for the price of one!!!!
We love to go there as a family so much fun and good price for two movies,i also like it that you can bring your own food so much fun!
Really nice place, we always enjoy the fact that they have double features. Just wish that others headlight werent such a problem.
Was great, the weather was cooler, perfect sound to hear the movie, prices were not out of line, good refreshments
Great selection of concessions, great value for admission, and overall awesome experience.
Great family ️ fun
Very nice drive inn. Good screen quality and great sounds.
Go here every year during the state fair and its always so much fun
