I was pleased with the seats being cordoned off. There were only 4 people in the theater which was nice. It was too loud. All 4 of us had to cover our ears for most of the movie.

It was an awesome experience. I love the way the seats are positioned. No matter where you sit you can see good. The seats are so comfortable and very roomy. The theater was very clean, which is a major plus for me. It was a very enjoyable experience.

AMC is doing great with their COVID policies. We went to see tenet in IMAX and while I expected a lot of action and noise, the volume at the theater was deafeningly loud throughout it and my ears felt clogged for at least 20 minutes after leaving. Ive never had that issue at the movies and Im normally fine with loud noises. Outside of that, we overall had a great experience.

The theater is always clean when I come in, and the staff polite. While pricey, the concessions are extremely tasty and I like that the bathrooms are right next to each section of movie entrances.

I am writing to express my concern over the experience I had at this theater at the 5:10 PM Fantasy Island showing (Theater 11) on Feb 15, 2020. Folks, the theater I walked into was completely trashed. Popcorn and food all over the place and all throughout the aisles. Discarded drinks sitting in place left over from the previous showing. It was hard to find a seat that looked clean enough to sit down at. I have intentionally included time/date/theater details so that this can be investigated. You charge good money for people to come see movies at your facility. I am also a Premiere Stubs member. As the presumed best theater in the city, I expect better than this from you. Thank-you!

Above average seating but no payback chairs where you can put your feet up. Nice restrooms but not very private. Urinals close together and no dividers. Good selection of sugar snacks. Would appreciate it if healthier choices were available. Great parking and management seems to care.

Movie theater was clean and staff was nice. Price of ticket was reasonable, went to early show. Price of popcorn, candy, etc. Is very expensive. Overall enjoyed the movie.

Havent been to the movies in a long time didnt realize how expensive it is these days. But besides that the staff was friendly and quick about their service at the snack line which was expensive as well. The seating was comfortable and truly enjoyed the movie. I gave 4 stars because of the high prices

My 4 Year old son and I went to see Sonic the Hedgehog today. The Theaters were mislabeled so we ended up sitting through inappropriate previews for a 4 year old and then of all things a Rated R film started showing. When we went out to speak to the staff about it they did say they were sorry and gave an excuse about the power going out yesterday. We ended up missing the first 15 minutes of our movie and the staff just pointed to the theater we were supposed to be in. I was very disappointed in the fact that they did not offer anything to compensate us for missing the first part of our movie. And having to sit through previews that my son didnt need to see.

Very loud, even wearing ear plugs. We almost left before the movie started, but toughed it out. We liked the seats, but it didnt seem like an I Max with the smaller screen. Dont plan on going back.

Just way overpriced. Great concessions line up, but pricing is ridiculous. Thats why I stopped being a Stubs reward member and started going to the theaters in Jacksonville, Illinois. Much cheaper and less chaos.

Disgusted. Ive only been here two times every employee I encountered looked like they hated their job and were VERY unhelpful and made the initial walk in experience negative. My first movie here was Star Wars Episode 9 and they gave a full auditorium the wrong 3D glasses on opening night. Ruined that experience. The second time I felt MASSIVELY overcharged for a simple ticket, popcorn and soda. The movie I was in was bigger than the screen so 1/4 of the movie was hard to look at including the subtitles were running off the screen made it very hard to enjoy and visualize. I notified and employee TWO times and nothing was done about it. Such a disgraceful experience I will never come back.

Needs updated. Chairs are old. For the price you pay to go to the movies you want comfortable seating.

Ill admit, AMC 12 is expensive. It is much more expensive than the theater in Carlinville, but it does make up for that with comfortable seats, great sound quality in the theater, and plenty of bathrooms so the crowds do not get too large. It is a good place to go for a birthday present.

Went last night to see star wars rise of Skywalker at the IMAX 3D. First thing I noticed when I walked in is there was only 1 employee working at the ticket counter on a premier night for a huge movie release. Had my tickets already so I got to skip that line. Walked in and no employees there to take tickets and 3 very long lines for concessions. There was a basket for 3d glasses so me and my buddy both grabbed a pair. (No employees around to take tickets or give glasses.Waited in line 15 minutes for concessions. By the time we got in theater trailers had started which isnt a big deal. Got to the point where it said to put 3d glasses on for rest of the trailers and noticed that everything was super blurry and looked like everything was doubled in the screen. Half the audience were also verbal about picture not being viewable.Turns out the glasses we all had werent for Real3D. An employee walks in with a big basket of glasses and we all trade for the right ones while the trailers are still playing and the movie starts. Lights still on in theater. First 5 minutes of movie are then played with the lights on.All of the sudden the movie freezes for about a minute, the lights go out and the movie restarts. Everything okay after that.It seems like this theater is both understaffed and badly managed. Really doubt I will ever see a movie at Showplace classic 12 again

Amenities are nice, but the screen had a line going through the top and there was something moving across the screen for about half the movie.

The theater could try cleaning a bit better. The IMAX cup holders and floor are disgusting. The restrooms are usually in bad shape too. Its sad that people also cant clean after themselves and leaves the theater in such a poor state.

I’ve been here a few times in the past few months and each time the employees seem very unhappy to be there and are not helpful. I went for the Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker on opening night in IMAX 3D and they gave us the wrong 3D glasses. After notifying the employees, there were a few passing them out in the auditorium but there was no announcement made, no apologies, nothing. Some of the customers were unaware of their mistake and watched the whole movie with the wrong glasses. Today, I saw Weathering with You and the screen was too small for the film. The captions were overlapping so it was difficult to read them and you could not even see the full picture of the movie. They were notified TWICE of this issue and proceeded to say someone was working on it, but nothing was done. Very disappointed and not worth the $10 ticket, at the Illinois Theater in Jacksonville I pay $8 for a ticket, popcorn, AND a drink. Though that theater may be smaller, the employees are amazing and the price is so worth it.

No stars. The first time we went, they Forgot to start the movie! Someone had to go out and remind them to do it. SECOND time we went, they Accidentally played R rated previews before showing Secret Life of Pets 2! My 3 year old is now Terrified of the scary clown ( Joker trailer)!! It was 30 minutes of Scary, Violent trailers before my daughters first movie at a theater. Rambo. Quinton Tarantino. Terminator. What did they offer us? A Coupon For a Regular Soda for THE NEXT TIME WE GO. Sorry guys. Never. Again.

You go to this theater on the west side of town and spend more money for the same movie playing on the east side. The restrooms are filthy. Take a look at the toilet seat cover holder. The top is thick in dust. We came in for a 10:45 am movie and the paper towels were empty. The tile floors are grimy. They can do better than this!!! Get it together Managers and clean up your building.

My husband and I took my mom to see Avengera End game it was a good movie. My problem was the doors were to heavy for my mom. She is in a wheelchair. There was not a place to put her drink or snack so she had to put them on the floor. She would not be able to go see a movie by her self.

I havent been to the movies in years. I took my step son to see toy story 4. We loved it. The only thing I didnt like was the prices of candy food and drinks...absolutely ridiculous

IMAX 3D is AMAZING!!!!! Just dont sit too close to the step lights. Very distracting glare in glasses from them.

They need to improve cleaning by a lot. The seats were decent, but nothing spectacular.

Coming on a Tuesday was great. Discounts if you are AMC member. It may be this way everywhere but this was the first time I noticed it.

Good place to watch a movie, but the prices, especially the concession, are very overpriced in my opinion. I strongly recommend skipping the snacks unless you feel comfortable spending more than $10 on a small popcorn.Everything else is good, though. The screens are nice, the sound is good, and I never have a problem with the temperature setting like some people have complained about. However, one of these days, I do hope they renovate so the isles aren’t super compact.

Volume in theater was so loud my kids complained the entire time. The said they couldn’t turn it down. I enjoy not losing my hearing from going to the movies. Horrible. Go anywhere else.

Went here on Sunday to see Avengers Infinity War and was very happy with my experience. I used a new app called Atom which allows me to buy my tickets in advance and add my AMC stub card to it as well so I earn my points from the comfort of my home. I would also like to say the IMAX theater here was a great addition and hope we will have more added on in the near future.

Ignore the negative comments here, staff are VERY friendly and clean establishment! As for one review on here saying they couldnt see the film because BF forgot ID at home...sorry charlie they are just doing their jobs....if they require an ID YOU NEED AN ID!

Theater is very clean. Didnt get anything to eat as I had just ate a large meal on the way there, but it offers the same stuff as other AMC theaters do so if youve ever been to one... . Sound quality and picture was excellent.

I bought tickets for a later showtime the cashier told us to come back at 9 and we did and waited in the parking lot cause the doors where locked. So we seen everyone come out and get in there vehicles and leave. So I wasted my time and $30.

The theater was nice compared to many around the area. All staff were friendly and everything was clean. I will be back in the future.

Went to see a movie in 3D. It was never in 3D. Something broke. They showed the movie without 3D and it looked fine. They gave us a 100% refund, which was more than fair. Appreciate it!

Theatre is well kept and well managed. Lines are kept moving with multiple options to get tickets. They stay up to date on new apps and seem to genuinely care that you have a great time. They participate in several money saving options like matinees, senior, kid and veteran discounts too.

Polite staff and accomadating to your needs. Excellent stadium style seating as long as its not a packed theater. Only downside is its pricey, but I guess thats the norm anywhere nowadays. Just less likely to go see a movie when its $100 plus to take a family of 4, especially if you wants snacks and drinks. I would suggest making a family package that includes everything from tickets to food and drinks all in one at a set price. I would still recommend to a friend as this is the best theater in town.

Went to see a movie with my son today but because they were having a Marvel movie premiere concession stand line was so long about an hour wait and they only had two people working absolutely poor planning on the theaters part. They should have been staffed to cover the premiere!

Tuesdays are the day to go. Smaller crowds and good prices(not on the food). This theater is looking a tad worn. Its time to replace those nasty seats.

The staff are nice. Food is ridiculous. We went during a matinee to save money. My wife and I used to go to the theaters every weekend when it was owned by Keresotes because they had the 5 buck club. Seats are comfy and the screen was great.

Nice theater, clean, friendly staff. However, the IMAX here isnt what I would consider a true IMAX. It is small for an IMAX and because of that the volume of the movies is WAY TOO LOUD!!! I have seen 2 movies there and left with my ears ringing. The last time I attempted to see an IMAX there (Aquaman) I left about 5 minutes into the movie and went and seen a different movie because it was just uncomfortably loud. (I even took cotton balls, anticipating the loud, but they didnt help enough). However, I do still frequent this location, I just dont do the IMAX movies.

This is my favorite theater in town, though I am pretty excited about the renovations at Showplace 8 on Dirksen. The seating is theater-style, so you dont have to worry about a tall person sitting in front of you. The whole place has always seemed clean, and the employees are friendly.

It was amazing. I watched Coco and ate popcorn with my best friend. I had a lot of fun. The drinks and food were great, as well as the employees.

Imax is great. Chairs are more comfy than standard theater seats.

Black panther was the best movie and I loved how clean the theater was and the great choices for food. Couldnt believe all of the vegan options. Customer service was excellent!

Very clean. Comfy seats with good leg room (Im 67 and its sometimes a struggle). Nice self-serve drinks. Price is comparable to other theaters, but has good deals throughout the week which make things cheaper.

We were in a movie right next to and I Max movie and we could hear loud rumbling the whole time which was very disruptive. When I told the manager she offered to give me two free passes. Which was very nice.

The employees were extremely unprofessional and rude to my boyfriend and I. We were told that we couldnt see our movie after we had already purchased tickets, because my boyfriend left his ID at home, even though I am of age and he is clearly over 21. You only have to be 17 to see an R rated movie. They didnt apologize to us or offer a thing for the waste of time and money. Intead, they were very rude to us and couldnt even call over a manager, so we left. I rarely come to this theater, but the movie that we wanted to see wasnt playing at any of the other AMC theaters in Springfield. Every time I come to this theater, the restrooms are extremely dirty, and out of toilet paper and soap. It makes you wonder if they even have a janitor. The food is way overpriced, and the employees dont even wear hairnets or gloves. Its disgusting. Im never coming back to this theater. They have awful customer service and dirty theaters! I recommend going showplace 8 instead.

Showplace 12 is very clean, if you dont go on opening night - its rarely crowded regardless of the day or time you choose, weve seen both new and older movies here. Weve gone on both weekends and weekdays. Weve seen movies during the day and in the evening. Its always been a pleasant experience. We always arrive early. We normally stay until the very end.

Like the new Imax seats. Sad no food service at this one. Speaker system good. Still had a head in my view though unexpected had to peer around. Like that you can reserve your exact seat online. More than enough parking.

Caught the last show of the night which is 1030 pm, noticed the ac was turned down so it was hot in the theater so I went to get something to drink and was told the concessions was closed and there was no other way to get something to drink. I wasnt the only one complaining specially those that purchased the free refill popcorn. If you are showing a movie why would you shut down everything else before the movie is over. Asked if I could leave and get something to drink and was told once I left I could not come back. I was very upset, it was really hot inside and with nothing to drink.

Very clean and good customer service. I have been to an IMAX in Chicago and St Louis and the quality is comparable. It is the best movie theater in the Springfield area. They usually staff for busier movies.

I love this theater, specially the local management & their staff and the way they cater to the disabled. AMC is really stepping up their game by offering regular movie goers multi-movie discount plans, rewards and discounts.

Absolutely Love This Theater, By Far The Best In Springfield.

This was a great movie theater when it opened. But, recently its fallen a little bit. The last time we went, the service wasnt too great, and the theater we watched the movie in wasnt even cleaned before we went in. Im leaving a higher rating because its still a good theater, and can be great depending in the staff!
