As an escape room enthusiast who has done over 440 rooms, I always enjoy seeing well-executed technology in escape rooms, and these two rooms do not disappoint. The first room we played, Vampire Hunter, was an elegant room with several surprising moments, with the only critique being a slight over-reliance on one particular prop. Otherwise, the room was very solid and enjoyable. The second room we played, The Archaeologist, was a tech-driven room filled with all sorts of surprises, with a great mixture of physical and mental challenges. The real standout of the experience, however, was the extremely pleasant staff who was clearly very invested in his business (and it shows).

My family and I had an incredible time at Springfields Great Escape. We barely finished! Weve tried a few of these escape rooms, but none of them have come close to the detail and complexity of this adventure. We were shocked and amazed at some of the interactive workings of the game. We highly recommend this one hour adventure for anyone interested in having some fun with friends or bonding with work team members. You will not be disappointed. I cant wait until Springfields Great Escape builds another adventure.

Both times Ive done a room here the puzzles malfunctioned causing us to get stuck on puzzles which wasted time and lowered morale. Incredibly hard to see in the rooms as well, the struggles were not the puzzles rather the poor production of the rooms. 0/5

The owner/engineer James is a great guy. I work around the area everyday and see how good he treats people. The escape room is awesome, exciting and unreal the thought process James has put into it. My family and myself have done the escape room and we enjoyed it so much! We had so much fun having few drinks and trying to figure out how to get out of the rooms. It’s definitely a great time and a must go for anyone visiting or looking to have a great time. Thank you James, we will see you soon again!

I really enjoyed experiencing this escape room, Ive been to 3 different places and this has to be the best one. The service was excellent and the sheer creativity of the rooms was astounding. I recommend checking it out, and going with at least 4 people to maximize your fun.

This place is amazing! I have completed one room, and the other, so far, has defeated me. These are not novice rooms. Lots of craftsmanship has clearly gone into these...oh and its a bar too! The gentleman who runs the place is very nice. I cannot wait for him to finish the Star Wars themed escape. Ill definitely be back!

The owner James Kobath is a rip off artist famous in the area for the bait and switch, price inflation and not paying bills. He uses sub-par items to create dishes which shows in the gross product that makes it to the table. Avoid at all costs!!

My family and I had an amazing time. The owner and staff are so freindly and inviting. The room was SENSATIONAL . So well planned and executed. I cant recommend this place enough. GREAT way to spend time with Family and freinds . We will be back again for sure!

We went yesterday and did The Archeologist and boy, am I ever impressed. To start, the owner was very flexible when I asked if I could change our previously booked time to an earlier time and was very friendly. They serve beer there so you can have a drink there during your game if you would like (and a small bar to hang out at afterward complete with mind and board games). The atmosphere was really nice.We went into the room and did it- without giving any spoilers, the room was fantastic. We’ve done other escape rooms where there was a higher volume of clues but the clues are less challenging to solve, whereas in this one clues were fewer but more challenging and fun to solve than rooms run by other operations we’ve gone to in the past. When we had to get a clue to solve a puzzle, the owner was very helpful. The room was a blast and we finished it with just a couple minutes to spare. After you solve a room you get to write the name on his wall. We hung out a bit and talked to the owner more, who shared with us his plans for the future and gave a sneak peek at the other room. We will be back to do the Vampire room and any future rooms that come. This is a real gem and you are sure to have fun!

We have done a few escape rooms with our friends and these ones are so amazing! The special effects are the best we’ve ever seen. Definitely recommend 10/10 for everyone to come here. Every other escape room doesn’t compare. We have done both and are so happy with our experience! 3/9/19

I’ve gone to other escape rooms and none have amounted to how amazing this one was. You can definitely tell the owner put some time into these rooms. Wow! It was just 3 of us and we made it half way. So when booking be sure to have plenty of brains for the help. I will be booking again soon to finish the remainder of the escape.

We did “Vampires and Archeology” and both scenarios are awesome! If you want to enjoy the real experience of an Escape Room, then go there! We definitely recommend this place! We had so much fun! And the manager was very welcoming and kind. Besides, they offer you the option to purchase some snacks and beverages in the same place while you’re waiting for your turn! Also you can park behind the building or at the MGM (it’s like literally three blocks from the place) for sure, we will come back for new scenarios!

Went here for a team building event and was very impressed with how much fun we had and how difficult it was to escape! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun and challenging way to spend an hour (or less if youre good!) Kudos to owner James for putting together a top notch experience.

We had a lot of fun doing the vampire hunter escape room! I have been to 4-5 other escape rooms before, but this one had some fun clues that I hadn’t ever seen before. I would definitely go back and check out the other scenarios! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Had an amazing time. The puzzles were challenging and vastly different from one another. Was definitely one of the better escape rooms I’ve been to. Staff/owner was really friendly and had a lot of jokes up his sleeve. Would go again, definitely recommend.

It was my first escape room and I absolutely loved it! The owner was accommodating and really explained how the game worked. The rooms were not bad at all. Very entertaining and I would do it again to solve it! You get student discount too which I loved!

An incredibly well thought out escape room with lots of practical effects. Loved the Vampire themed room (which we did finish!). Management is very welcoming and helpful when you need it. Would absolutely recommend for people looking for a challenging but fun adventure!

Great rooms! A really immersive and impressive experience!

The Springfield Great Escape is very well designed and lots of fun. We did the Archeologist room and I was impressed with the intricacy, storyline, and puzzles for this room. We found out that James, the owner, created, designed, and built all of the puzzles and story for his rooms (and built his own bar). Very original, authentic, professional and sufficiently challenging (we didn’t escape but were able to finish in overtime). We definitely need to come back to do the Vampire room. Good luck to James and thank you for a great experience! If you like escape rooms, you should try this one out.

I’m an escape room enthusiast, I’ve been to seven escape rooms, and I’ve been to some really great rooms...but this one blew the other rooms out of the water. The clues were interesting and well engineered, the setting was really fun, and the clues were all different.I was really impressed and will definitely be coming back.

This is the best and most interesting escape room I’ve been to yet! My group and I had so much fun deciphering all the clues and different challenges and were luckily able to slay the vampire and make our way out. I can’t wait to go back and try the different rooms! Also, the owner and staff were very welcoming and we had great conversations in a relaxed and comfortable environment outside of the room.

We have been to quite a few escape rooms and this one was awesome, definitely in my top 3! The guy that runs the place is super friendly, and builds the rooms himself (he told us he was a former engineer for Ford, then wanted to do this instead - pretty chill guy!). Overall, it was a great time. Plus there is a bar, and you can bring the drinks into the escape rooms!

Rarely do I write reviews but this was such a great time that I felt the need to share. I even took some flyers and shared them with co-workers! Our Friday night was filled with laughs and challenges and team work. It was refreshing to not have to leave Springfield to find something fun to do. I am looking forward to the next room! Ive done 2 other escape rooms both in state and out of state, and truthfully this one was the best. The previous two were either too convoluted, or lacked any immersion or detail. The multiple rooms of the Vampire Hunter escape room (the only one available at the time of my writing) were incredibly detailed, well constructed, fun, immersive, and surprising. The lobby, while not shabby by any standard didnt even begin to let on to how well constructed and genuinely cool the room inside was. The puzzles were fun, doable, varied and numerous. We went in as a group of 3 and felt stumped multiple times having to use our clues to progress, and eventually solved the whole room with just a minute to spare. The puzzles themselves were a mix of hunting for items/clues, solving riddles/cyphers, and physical skill. Fantastic room, fantastic owner. Well definitely be back.

This is great, the entire time we were there I dint think of anything else but solving the puzzle. Allot more fun than a movie theater and you get to sign your name on the wall if you escape in time. I will definitely go again.

I have been to two other escape rooms in other states and Springfields Great Escape really set the new standard for my idea of an escape room. I dont want to speak too much about the Vampire themed room but the technology and mechanics went far beyond a few pad locks. The storyline was fun and well put together but the detail that went into the rooms is was what was really impressive. Not only were the obstacles well done but the rooms really make you feel like you are in another place and time. I think Springfields Greast Escape would be great for a date night, work outing, birthday party or for any other type of group event where people are looking to have a little fun and try something new. Booking the room was easy and the owner was very personable and helpful throughout the process.

One man show, builds his rooms, comes up with the ideas, and is always super nice! He always wants you to succeed and will help however he can for you to make it out! He doesnt give obvious hints though. His rooms are a mix between physical, and mental puzzles and he really knows how to make you feel like youre a part of the room!

My boyfriend and I do escape rooms very often and we never knew there was one right in Springfield. Just opened up in March, and honestly, was one of the BEST escape rooms we have done! So much fun and very challenging! The owner worked very hard building the room all by himself. He put a lot of thought into this room and you can tell how passionate he is about it. Can not wait for the second room to open so we can come back!!

I have done 7 or 8 escape rooms in the area and this one was my favorite. The owner has put a lot into it and the rooms have things that I have never seen before. If you are considering booking a room, DO IT!

Parking was unclear and confusing. Some directions while ment to be tricky are a little too unclear. Compared to other escape room experiences they weren’t very attentive to our requests and hints. I expected someone to be watching us the entire time via camera to help with things we might be doing wrong or just to see where we are if we need help.

This was a lot of fun, similar to a scavenger hunt, but much harder, it was a unique experience, ! you definitely will laugh @ yourself, & when you find the clues you feel an accomplishment, i would definitely go again, it certainly challenges you,,,, just trying to find & then figure out what to do with the clues is exciting, it makes you think ALOT !! its well done, the owner put a lot of effort into this, and it shows, hes friendly, & welcoming & he goes over everything prior to entering the rooms, & he checks in with you periodically, if you need some guidance, you only have an hour to get through the rooms, so thats another added element you have to deal with, its good fun & youll be laughing & talking about it after you leave for sure ! chris m
