I was very surprised that the rooms were update to modern style. The balcony had a beautiful view of the mountains. I could hear the water cascading from the back of the resort from the balcony. My husband and I took a walk towards the back to trails and it was an amazing experience. It was peaceful and relaxing.
Balcony view was spectacular. Beds were magnificently comfortable with great pillows. Room was spotlessly clean. Room was outfitted with twice the amenities (including coffee!) than anywhere else our family had stayed travelling the SW. Just a few minutes walk to Arts District. Furthermore, staff helped us immediately when our six year old locked us out by accident. Great place.
Great location, however the rooms do need to be updated and redesigned. Once you open the door you are greeted with the bathroom sink. Im not a designer by means, however if I were I would redesign the bathroom. Also did not have a floor mat for slippery situations. Once you step outside the views and the sound of the Creek is incredible.
Great location and excellent customer service. We booked a variety of 6 rooms for our Wedding party. Each room was different, offered great view of mountains or city, and was VERY clean. This hotel was perfect for what our group needed. We enjoyed the pool and spectacular views. One small but important detail we all noted - there is NO place to hang long items or a dresser for clothes. I had to lay my wedding dress on towels on the floor because of lack of closet space. No usable hangers (attached to armoire) and no place to hang wash cloths/towels near the sink. In the heart of it all - great place to stay!
Nice quiet. Enjoyed my view in patio could see the mountains all the beautiful green trees bird flying around really relaxing environment. Room was clean. The only bad thing is you cant check in until 4:00 p.m. even if room is ready. The cleaning ladies were very nice and helpful.
Was hesitant to book due to mixed reviews, but very glad I did. Staff was nice, rooms were basic but cozy and clean, and the hotel is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. (Breakfast is not included, but it was just a short jaunt to the coffee shop.) Beds were comfortable, room was quiet - didnt experience the noise issues that others have complained about. The pool and jacuzzi area was beautiful, and so was the view from our room patio. My family enjoyed picnicking in the garden area (we were always the only ones there!) and my kids got a kick out of the giant chess board. Even though the hotel was booked up the night we stayed, we were one of only 2 families at the pool. The grounds felt peaceful and secluded and it was easy to social distance. The highlight was the stairwell down to the creek. The stroll was so serene, and a perfect little forest hiking experience for my young children. Not a luxury resort, but the price was right, and it was the perfect choice to stay the night and let our kiddos enjoy Sedona for the first time. We would have loved to stay there longer.
Cedars Resort is in the perfect location. Walking distance to everything. Remodeled rooms, pool and spa. Walkway to creek is an added bonus. Breathtaking views from the comfort if our king sized bed. Loved it.
Wished they would offer to bring fresh towels and extra toliet paper since they are doing upkeep of room due to virus but everything else made up for that. Beautiful love the peace and quiet. View from our balcony is beyond beautiful. Path to creek is amazing and great workout! Truly thankful for how amazing this hotel is. It is not a resort dont expect room service but great nearby places to eat and all so yummy!! Recommend this 1000%!! Thank you STAFF!
Clean room great welcoming staff only thing negative is disciplining house keeping should be done in private
A nice serene place with a view the creek, the beautiful Sedona landscape and hiking trails while being walking distance to shopping and food. It was the best of all worlds in one place!
Nice spot but bathroom is super small and no late check outs. If that is not a problem then this place is good!!
All staff very efficient and friendly. Fabulous view from our balcony.
Great location in Sedona, reasonably priced. The pool and hot tub area has a spectacular view. Theres a nice creek trail located by the pool area.
Positive: The view and private trail. Negative: Nope everything was perfect !!
I liked the fact it was in walking distance of restaurants and shops and Jeep tours! Being solo I felt safe in the area. Great price but would stay in rooms overlooking creek next time as the front rooms are right on road.
Great location, great view on premium rooms, very nice staff!
Room needs to feel that it is really clean. There was some dust and the restroom did not look that clean.
So accommodating and clean! We even had a balcony. We will be back
We had an upstairs room with a king bed and a balcony overlooking Oak Creek. I loved the room. The views were beautiful and you could hear the creek running from the balcony. I also enjoyed the hot tub. My husband thought the bed was a little too hard. We enjoyed the jacuzzi. Our only complaints were that there was no restroom or shower in the pool area. You also had to go back to the front desk to get a separate key for the exercise room which seemed ridiculous as your room key should work to open it. Overall we enjoyed our stay and the room was very quiet.
With this being my first trip to Sedona, I was very unaware of where to book. We selected Cedars Resort as it seemed affordable and in a great location. After our stay, I am forever grateful we made the decision to do so! The views I posted are taken from the beautiful hot tub and pool area. The staff onsite were incredible and assisted us with any minor concern that came up: fresh pool towels, ice, and paper products. Our room was fresh, clean, and comfortable; I will note the shower is a bit awkward and small but don’t let that deter you. There is a nice patio off the back of every room with an incredible view of the red rocks and night stars. The resort is located conveniently between hiking trails and is walking distance from the uptown area. Take my advice and stay here, it will only enhance your stay in Sedona!
Will start with the positives- great location. Close to many shops and restaurants and close to most trail heads. Great views from the balcony. I really enjoyed hearing the creek down below the property. Very clean room. Nice lobby staff. But this is a motel, not a resort (which I knew when booking). Did not feel very safe with the exterior doors not having extra locks inside. Would recommend adding microwaves to the rooms since the lobby isn’t 24/7, especially during the holidays (although I do appreciate the staff member calling before he left early on Christmas Eve). The room coffee is not drinkable (seriously gross) but the coffee in the lobby is decent. The cleaning staff while doing a great job on the rooms are not very considerate of other guests when cleaning. They were constantly slamming doors. The bathroom is small but all you need. Water pressure left something to be desired (especially after a muddy hike). Thin flooring between levels? I couldn’t hear my neighbors on either side but I could hear EVERYTHING the downstairs neighbors did from their obnoxious snoring to the tv shows they were watching. Thankfully I could drown it out with sounds from the creek by opening the balcony door.I’d definitely stay here again for the location alone.
They didnt have rooms available but shout out to Georgia Booth. She cslled and made reservations for us at Sedona Inn n Suites. Also she booked our reservations at Safari Jeep tours. Thank you Georgia Booth.
Beautiful views, large rooms and a nice & helpful staff!! Definitely my first choice of places to stay in Sedona!
Awful staff not empathetic at all canceled reservation and returned home. Im never staying in hotel here only airbnb for me
I upgraded my room after checking into the first room (roadside, traffic was loud, room was very small). The mountain view from the balcony of the upgraded room was lovely. The room was clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the tourist section of Sedona on foot.I wish the hotel had personal safes in the rooms (per the work equipment I had with me). I also wish, since the doors open to the outside, that the rooms had swinging bar locks at the top inside of the doors. It looks like it once existed (perhaps only missing in my room).I enjoyed my stay at Cedars Resort.
Best place to stay in Sedona! Phenomenal views beds are so comfortable and rooms are super nice. The view from the pool is spectacular!
Highly recommended! Pool views are fantastic. Nice staff. Room is ok, default. The hotel location is great. There is a little private park with river acess in the back of the pool area ( go downstairs ).
First, I want to apologise to the staff that was working on the 26th of July it was a woman and a man around 3 oclock. When booking the room I did not read the fine print in the very small boxes on top. When booking a room read the small print. But over all our stay was wonderful. Wanted to say thank you.
Well I have a trip coming up and now double guessing if I should cancel my reservation due to everyone’s review about rude management. What’s worse is that I can’t seem find any responses apologizing for their rude service. Instead they excuse themselves!! Beautiful property but come on now let’s be more considerate. These people are keeping you in business!
Positive: Spacious room, plenty of towels and toiletries, in room fridge. Beautiful view of the red rocks on the balcony. Walking distance to the shops right across the street. Nice pool area. Will stay again.
View is outstanding but everything else is just average!
This is a great property, Centrally located in Sedona right near Starbucks great restaurants, hiking, Motorsport rentals, shopping, gallaries and much more. Also of you can get a room with a view, do it is a breathtaking sight. I had a wonderful time in Sedona and found cedars to be well cared for and clean. They have parking, and a nice poolside and hot tub.
The property was very nice, beautiful view from our room. Would stay there again. There was only one complaint, not a huge problem but no hot water in the sink faucet.
Nice little resort. Needs upgrade
What stay? We got here early. Wouldn’t let us check in. No biggie. Went shopping came back at 4:00. We both went to check in and were told that only the one with the reservation name could be in the lobby. No sign on the door telling you that. So my husband stayed to register and I went to get our plate number. He can out said it was in my name and they wouldn’t let him check. Also told him there would be no maid service for the 3 nights we were here. I walked into check in and was told they canceled our reservation because. So now here we are in Sedona at 4:10 with no place stay. So DON’T waste your time trying to stay here.
Clean rooms, easy access to shopping and dining.
Positive: The view is amazing, the location is great, the room was comfortable. The hot tub was perfect. Id love to go back. Negative: If I had to be really nitpicky there is no microwave, and the driveway is a pretty steep slope. Hardly worth mentioning.
When i booked i was afraid we would be overlooking the main road so asked for a room with a view if possible. Upon checkin they informed me our room was in fact upgraded and i gotta say the room itself wasnt the fanciest at all but the view!!!!!! Oh the view was breathtaking, and that was well worth the money. The room was clean, staff was friendly and all in all we will be staying there again for sure as its definitely worth the money
Pool is nice with a great view. However, the front desk lady is very rude and disrespectful. She would not let us check in early, doesn’t seem realistic that not one king room is ready for early check in at 2 pm.
Rooms were very clean, staff were so friendly and the view from our room was incredible!!
Cedars Resort’s location is to die for. The view from the pool is one of the best views you will find in Sedona. I would stay here again just to take advantage of their amazing views. The room I stayed in wasn’t as comfortable, but that may have been because I paid for the lowest priced room available. Maybe their bigger, more expensive rooms are more comfortable.
Convenient location. Very nice place.
We loved it here! The whole hotel is super cute and in the perfect spot! The room was very clean. Check in was super easy and the hotel staff at the front desk was very sweet. Definitely recommend and definitely would stay again.
Like: location, room + viewThe rooms are small but it was perfect for just me & my spouse for a one night stay. The view was amazing. Good priceDislike: service & trail availabilityThe gate to the creek trail is locked at all hours of the day so you have to ask the staff for “permission” to use it. Really didn’t like that! The woman at the front desk is not personable nor did she smile one time while helping with check in/out. Really sad considering this is the first/last interaction with the facility. Poor service is so bad for business. I saw prior reviews about poor service and they were right
Really great rates and amazing views.
Absolutely breath taking views! My wife and I spent our 1 year anniversary here and cant wait to spend many more here. It is older but very well kept and it is unrivaled in terms of views, and walking trail down to the hiking trails! Highly recommend!
Extremely rude staff! We parked to check in and they threatened to tow our car. We left promptly and went to a better hotel down the road.
The single worst customer service experience ever in 32 years of business travel!!Horrible management! There’s a sign over the desk that states they can refuse service to anyone for any reason. That includes questions on your bill that they really messed up and promising a Premier room and switching you to a room without a view. Then if you are not happy... they’ll call the police and cancel your reservation. I’m not overstating this. They didn’t call the police but threatened to when they could not explain how they had messed my reservation up. I have never written a review before but wanted people to have a serious”Buyer Beware”. Go elsewhere at all cost !
Great room with a great view. Room was clean and staff was helpful and courteous. Pool had a great view of the red rocks. Uptown sedona was a short walk from hotel. Will be returning again.
Room was clean. Fantastic view. Walking distance to shopping and dining.
Loved the sound of the river and the views outside our window. Loved walking down to the river on the stairs. Everyone was very friendly and helpful staff-wise.
This was a quiet place and great location to stay . It had a view from our balcony when the sun set that was surreal. We even decided to stay a second night. Definitely would come back to Cedars Resorts again.
Horrible customer service and management. Witnessed the most awful treatment. Do not recommend at all.
This is NOT a resort! No restaurant, gym or store. Rooms are set up odd. No bathroom sink. It’s in kitchen. No late check in. Would not accommodate even though next party can’t check in until 4. Bedding is skimpy. Would not recommend unless you are looking for a basic room.
Ordered and paid for an upstairs room and when we got there they said they couldnt offer us an upstairs room... I dont understand why they would post an upstairs room as an option if its not available. We had to listen to an elephant walking above us for our entire stay. Other than that, the room had a great view and was clean. We will come back...just not until we can make sure its upstairs!!
First time in AZ, Sedona and what a great cozy place to stay. Reminded me home. My room was nice and guest services where very kind. Very welcoming young lady to greet us and house keeping did a great jod. Will stay at again!
Clean, nice bigger TV, remodeled, New carpet and flooring, king comfortable bed, beautiful view, great service at desk. Showers are small, however the water pressure was great and very clean. We were in room 118.
I didn’t like that there wasn’t a lock other than on the door knob.... I didn’t like parking in the area I was told to with a big vehicle. I didn’t like the hair dryer. I only stayed one night, but if I were to stay for a week, I would’ve wanted Drawers to put my clothes in. No need for a desk . Also the brown bathmat, not hygienic enough .... no need . Yes it was clean . Great view.
The views are gorgeous. The hotel is lovely. At 10 AM, an hour before check out, a man was knocking on my door to get me to leave. That was really weird, especially when i am trying to shower and he keeps banging on the door. You should stop that practice asap
The room We got was spacious with 2 queen beds, a couch big and comfortable enough that someone could sleep in it, it had a TV, mini fridge, tiny coffee maker, 2 small tables and 2 chairs.LIKED: that the room had a small terrace with a table and 2 chairs overlooking the mountains. The rooms are organized like a motel so you can park right in front of your room door. The hotel is very close to everything, so you can walk to the gas station/convenience store or to the shops at the Hyatt right across the street. It was clean. Free internet, pool and exercise room.DISLIKE: The bathroom was small and it had a very tight shower ONLY no tub. We had a room right by te main road so it was very noisy in the morning with cars driving by. They dont offer breakfast with your stay. They charged me $20 for my 13 month olds stay (as an extra person). We were 3 adults and 2 kids (12 year old and the 13 month old).
For a reasonable rate, we were able to get a room with a FANTASTIC VIEW! Long story short, my family ended up in Sedona unexpectedly for a night. I was a little nervous that trying to find a hotel at the last minute in a hot-spot town would be difficult but Cedars Resort was a gem. Although we couldnt use the outdoor amenities due to rain storms, the view was phenomenal. The break in the clouds, and the kiss of the sunshine produced a rainbow that was unforgettable. The staff that checked us in was super helpful and professional. Thank you for an unforgettable visit. We will be back!
Truly a gem. Second floor Canyon side room had great views, was nice and quiet, comfortable bed and I am a pretty light sleeper. Best part is the hot tub next to the pool. We will be back, we really enjoyed our stay.
Note: This is a 30-yr old property which has been updated and renovated. There is no elevator to the 2nd floor. It appears to be a Motel that was upgraded. However:1. Excellent location at the apex of two major routes.2. Clean excellent housekeeping,3. Fantastic views of the red rocks and gorge,4. Friendly and accomodative staff.
Great value for the price.
The location is superb. We requested a top floor with a canyon view and it didnt disappoint. Although the rooms were small it fit our needs as we didnt spend much time in the room. After all, youre in Sedona with many more beautiful viewing options. The sound from Oak Creek by our room was nice and peaceful. Birds chirp at around 7:30am and that was wonderful to us. Great front desk service to boot.
Scamming smokers! Cockroaches in the rooms! If youve stayed here before, it would be wise to check your account transactions for a $250 smoke damages fee. The rule is that you have to be 20 feet from an entrance to be within the law. However if you are seen on the property smoking or with a pack of cigarettes, check to see if youve been fined $250. No manager is ever available to help with any complaints. They leave you waiting and have no answers but they will do this to you while smiling. Not a good experience at all. Scamming customers out of money. Still havent heard back about the cockroaches yet either.
The location is excellent and so is the view
Great location! Oak creek trail behind hotel and amazing views but the staff is very underwhelming. Extremely rude and not very polite!
Older hotel but very nice grounds
Great staff! Fantastic view and room with balcony. Hot tub needs a cleaning. Room clean. Can walk to coffee shop. Restaurants. Shopping.
Excellent location! Breathtaking views and great customer service from all employees we interacted with. We cant wait to visit again!
The view was great
Really great staff, clean rooms. Just tens of feet walk from Oak Creek. We had second floor room. Left AC off each night with balcony door open listening to Oak Creek, feeling the breeze, and watching the full moon out our balcony. Close to Hideaway Restaurant and numerous other venues. Cant say enough about our high value experience here. Well be back!
Location is great but rooms are outdated. Not worth the price. So many better options in sedona.
The view was nice if not facing the street. Walking distance to shops.
Clean rooms, adequately appointed, good home base for exploring Sedona. Spectacular view from my room.
Worse hotel I stayed in my life. HVAC unit right by the bed and very loud. Front desk was rude. The view has trees. No microwave in the room. The front desk closes at 11 pm. Who is running this s%^&hole
Amazing views! Clean. Old but clean. Better views than the lAuberge!!!
Views are really beautiful here. We had a king bed with a view which was surprisingly affordable compared to other places in the area. The location is very central so you can walk to cafes and restaurants
Loved the view from the pool, the rooms are decent
Spacious rooms. Great views
Hotel staff was so pleasant and accommodating. We stayed for our wedding night and there was a beautiful arrangement of rose petals, champagne, the whole works. Wonderful stay!
Lovely rooms with all amenities. Love the feel and staff are very friendly and helpful.
The views alone are worth the price of the room.
Great location and room was backed up to the creek, which made for nice soothing atmosphere.
We had to walk around the building and parking lot to get any view of the surrounding mountains as the photos showed. There the view was nice.
The view of the balcony was beautiful. Room was clean. There are no elevators so keep that in mind when booking. Most rooms are on ground level, but there are some on the second floor. The pool was clean. The motel is on Oak Creek and you can walk down the very steep steps to see it. The creek is beautiful. The location is in walking distance of Uptown Sedona where there are restaurants and gift shops. We ended up selecting restaurants in West Sedona that were 1.5 to two miles away.
