A nice memorial that recognizes one of World War 2s most celebrated and award winning battle ships of that war. Easily accessible in the heart of downtown waterfront San Diego.

This has to be the coolest and most fascinating monument I have ever seen. It’s tucked away and easy to walk past with so much to see along the water front, but I highly recommend stopping and taking a look. The map that shows the travels of the ship really puts things into perspective.

Very neat memorial celebrating those sailors who fought in WWII for USA. The ground is a map with major battles won. The memorial is HUGE! And very well done!
