This place is one of the most magical places in all of San Diego! I would highly recommend taking a day off and coming here and having a picnic with your most treasured family members. It’s dog friendly but keep your pooch on a leash! The view of San Diego here is incredible and you’re able to see the Pacific Ocean, Mission Bay, and Downtown all from one Vista!

A beautiful community park in the top of the hill with an extraordinary view from the bay. A place for having fun in so many different ways, chilling at the grass or doing some sport. Good slacklining and handstanding spot.

From what I saw of the park, it was very nice. There is a nice flat area where my granddaughter had soccer practice and a fun play area for younger children.

Lots of shade but also a giant open hill. There is street parking at the bottom of the hill and access to the lower picnic areas as well as a parking lot at the top of the park. Beautiful view. It’s quite peaceful in the morning.

Hidden Gem of PB. Most of our friends have not heard of this park, but are always blown away when visiting. The park has a great view overlooking Mission Bay. It is a bit steep and parking can be tricky, but once settled it is a great place to hang out with friends, have a picnic, and just hangout. Generally people are there a little after dark.

I lived in PB for 2 years in the past, never knew the existance of this beautiful park. It is on a hill so probably not a good place to play ball, but the view is Amazing. It is clean, and it has bathrooms and a water fountain.

Beautiful scencery!! My first time here Someone was getting married! You have the Pacific Ocean as a view! Bring you dog and anyone you want to spend the whole day here. There families and a kids park and some trails. Love how chill it is but there some homeless residents so better not to go in the morning or late evening. They dont have much of a bathroom and need to update them besides that I would want to Get remarried Here!

My boyfriend and I didnt even cover half of this place. We came here on our last day in SF and visited the Japanese tea garden. We hoped to see more but we enjoyed every part of the area that it was hard to see all of it. Next time we go back to CA we are spending one whole day here!

Great views of the city, but its pretty crowded. Parking isnt always easy, but theres a lot at the top of the hill and street parking at the bottom. So, you might have to walk a bit, but theres generally something open between the two. Its also worth mentioning that lots of people bring their pets here.

This is mainly a dog park where people with dogs like to go to disobey the sign that states to keep the dogs on leash & pick up the poop. When I was there the dogs were friendly & the majority of the owners did pick up the poop. There are always a few that cant read. Great place to overlook the valley.

In many ways Kate Sessions Park is more beautiful than Balboa Park or even Central Park. Because it sits halfway up Mt. Soledad and has the most breathtaking view of the southern half San Diego. You can have a picnic on the slopped side of the park and take in the sheer beauty of Americas Finest City.

This is an oasis in the city. Great length from the panhandle near Haight-Ashbury to Ocean Beach and north-south by Richmond and Sunset Districts. Good place to look at nature if Muir Wood still too far for some. For the museum and garden, I visited the Japanese Tea Garden, Botanical Garden, and Conservatory of Flowers. The first one is good to experience the authentic Japanese garden, second one lists number of plants and is free on second Tuesday of the month, and the third one has array of flowers from tropics to subtropics around the world and is free every first Tuesday of the month.

The views are of the best you will see in San Diego and the park is well manicured. It was very nice to see the American flag flying proudly in the cool breeze. One of the nicest parks in the city.I had only one issue, It appears that Kate Sessions park had turned into a dog park. There were nearly 10 dogs off leash while I was visiting though there was a sign stating all dogs are to be on leash at all times. There were no issues with dogs at the park but just be aware.

Some authority should check once in a while this park since lots of people go there without a mask and even without any intention of cover themselves when they walk next to you, as well you can see gathering big groups of people sitting together without maintaining the mandatory distance ( 6 ft distance). But what upsets me more is see those ones that supposed should put the example, the Firefighters of the Car Unit #16 without face mask walking around the park, even passing right next to you knowing is mandatory the use of mask .

This is a gorgeous public park that offers a variety of options to visitors, including large grassy hills as well as a flat grass area for sports, public restrooms, an area equipped with various modern play structures, picnic tables and benches overlooking the park view, paved sidewalks that intertwine throughout the large park, as well as a free parking lot and street parking. Not to mention, this location offers a breath-taking view of all of San Diego in which one can see as far as the Coronado bridge and even Mexico on a clear day.The only matter regarding this park that I find troublesome is their policy with off-leash dogs. The park has signs posted throughout the grassy areas specifying that all dogs must remain on-lease regardless of the time of day. However, when visiting this park, it is almost impossible to see any dog on a leash as many visitors bring there dogs and play fetch openly in the grassy areas and allow them to socialize with one another freely. However, I personally have a friend who received a hefty city of San Diego fine from a police officer for having her dog off leash after work. Although, I find it frustrating for my friend who was on the receiving end of this fine when every day there, regardless of what day of the week and/or what time of the day I visit the park, I can count at least five dog owner openly disobeying the posted signs. There needs to either be consistent enforcement of this law, and/or hours offered for individuals to enjoy free time with their doggies off leash without fear of being fined by the city.Aside from this matter, this is a wonderful family-friendly park that I would highly recommend visiting. I have even seen several birthday parties hosted with large bounce houses and other celebrations on site. It is a prime location in Pacific Beach and well-kept by the city! Everyone is very kind and the view will keep you coming back for more!

This is a great place to take your dog for a play date on weekdays after 4pm. Keep in mind, dogs are not allowed off leash, but you won’t see many dogs on leash at this time of day. Not recommended to go with a dog on the weekend, as more “non” dog people will be there and they may call animal control. Great views of the Bay and Seaworld all the way to Coronado and Downtown.
