This has been my go to place for unwinding for nearly 6 decades. Lots of little shops to explore. Many small family run delis for an excellent sandwich. Several very friendly bars. Clean sand, wind & waves. The best overall beach experience ANYWHERE! The only real problem is parking. Get there early in the day.

Love this beach!A great boardwalk and food options. Fun things to buy if you’re into that. All kinds of boards and bikes you can rent.Parking can be annoying but I’ve never not been able to get a good spot.Fun water too.

Beautiful woman everywhere.Dont like the kiosk vendors, they take away business from those who pay taxes and support our local government and schools.

Beside the beauty, its a great beach, to be at nice surf boggie board,ride your bike or run on the board walk, or just hit up Belmont park, great rollercoaster ride to enjoy.

Its definitely one of the better beaches in San Diego. And we have great beaches so not much else to say lol.

A very amazing Beach with a lot of sights to see with family and most of all a lot of wonderful places to eat.

Good amount of parking and lifeguards normally on duty. Lifeguards are very good about communicating the best swimming places to avoid rip currents. Beach is close to Belmont park with shopping and carnival style attractions. Even though there is a good amount of parking, get there early since this is a popular spot!

Love this beach! Went with a friend and her family and our kids loved it. The boardwalk is nearby. Restaurants are close. Bathrooms are open and available. Great waves to ride. We went in October so it was a little chilly, but we still got in the water and had a great time. There are tons of seashells and sand dollars.

Very fun beach! Relaxing and comfortable. Not that many people there. It is hard to find a parking space but when is it not? Very beautiful!

Its like the WHOLE town is a park. AND it has a ocean & bay with 10 + mi sidewalk around it, FANTASTIC to go to ! ! !

Great way to spend a day or just an afternoon. The sidewalk along the beach is divided to delineate right and left walking lanes. You are able to easily traverse between mission Beach and Pacific Beach. Lined with beautiful vacation homes and restaurants on shore side and ocean views on beach side. Plenty of beach area if you wish to enjoy the sand. Lifeguards are extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Also exceptionally accessible. Sidewalk vendors are courteous and helpful but not invasive. Shops carry standard beach and tourist fare. Relatively reasonably priced. Restaurant selection in the immediate area is good with everything from bbq to Chinese to Mexican and seafood. A very enjoyable place.

Beautiful. Quite a bit of seaweed on the beach but we were out there early in the morning and saw dolphins not far from shore. Looking forward to going back and trying some of the bars and restaurants.

Beautiful beach good seashells and walks or morning runs. Not many people out on week days. Campfires at night. In the San Diego area its one of the best beaches. Good waves for surfing

Mission beach is a fun place. There are restaurants and bars available but also lots of space if you dont want them. Parking is free, but fills up quickly. You can still park, but you might have to walk a while. The boardwalk is wide and goes all the way up to Pacific Beach. You need to be careful of electric scooters there.

Lovely beach! Family friendly, crowded parking so best to get in earlier in the day or later - especially if youll only spend a couple of hours. Theme park and kiddie park all nearby with bike and scooter rentals available as well. Clean beach, lifeguards on duty who are watchful, and great time!

Spend all day here. Might as well too. Food and fun all around the area. Free parking across the street if you dont find any in the beach side.

Shopping, amusement park, restaurants/bars, hotels and the Pacific Ocean all in one place! Cheapest/fastest/easiest way to get there-- Buy a city bus/trolley pass for $9.00/day.

Grew up coming here and love the beach. You got Belmont for the sweet treats. The beach is clean usually and pack on the hot days

So much to do besides the beach and water fun! Easily able to spend an entire day here and have the kids occupied with the many things to do and see! Older kids can hop on the electric rental scooters and zip around for hours up and down the boardwalk! The beaches alone are enough to keep me though, beautiful! Love this beach!

Probably my favorite beach in SD. Get there before 10am abd you can usually find parking in the main lot. If later, just go to the lot on the east side of Mission Bay Drive.Get there earlier on holiday weekends.

Great place to walk or rent rollerblades, so you can cruise the Boardwalk to PB for a beer. Good Times.

Love the free beach and free parking and Belmont park is 50 steps away. BUT the bathrooms are slightly yucky. Rarely saw homeless folk at the beae ch or anywhere in SD. Hopeful that the area/city is providing for the homeless more than the recent past.

I love this place! What else can you ask for? Colors at sunset are just perfect, people having fun, a couple of places to have a beer in front of the beach, palm trees all around you

I lucked out! Before 10 am, I was lucky enough to find disabled parking, near grass and boardwalk. It was great weather, lots of families & umbrellas and I really enjoyed the Bongo Drum player!

One of the better tourist beach. The sand is cleaned often. There are alot of shops and food places right next to the beach.

Always an awesome time, only bad thing its the bathrooms, theyre absolutely disgusting and the million vendors, coming by every 10 min.

Beautiful, lots of peoples make sure your bring your umbrella, shade,camping tent. Etc. Is very hot, this days. Crazy weather. Climate change.!!!

Summer in July in CA is pretty warm, but not unbearable as AZ. Even still, the water was really cold but I had a lot of fun with my famuly and boyfriend. Nice family place with lots of sea life to fascinate and excite. Just steer clear of stingrays if you go too far from shore. Saw a man with a stingray injury on the beach just today.

Always lots of people... hot chicks and parks. If you can go on weekday, weekend is harder to find parking space. Be patient and you will find one.

Family fun. More for a younger crowd but lots of shopping, fun games and good surf. Plus the bay is right there for some SUP.

This is a pretty cool beach. Clean water and nice waves. I love to boogie board so waves are important to me. Waves were at 5 feet. It was super crowded for a monday, but its summer time so I get it. Plenty of nice bars to hang out along the board walk. Belmont park is right next to the beach which is a kind of fair that has games and rides. They also have a zip line and an escape room. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting at the beach. Filthy and unkept. Maybe if the bathrooms werent so bad Id give this beach 5 stars. Id rather go to Silver strand state beach. You have to pay 10 dollars to get in to Silver strand beach, but its worth it. Clean bathrooms, super close parking and a fraction of the crowds.

Love the way the city of San Diego is all the way around. Was the best vacation spot I have ever been at. Can not wait for this years vacation out there again!

Busy beach. Lots of activity, shops and places to eat. If you want quiet go to Coronado.

Ive been going to this beach for most of my life! It has Belmont park immediately next to the beach my family loves playing volleyball so we have very good times

Great boardwalk by the beach..... everything is better looking they are updating the area and cleaning it up !!!! Lots of t shirt shops and places to eat good way to unwind after a hard day .....be aware of all the scooters in the area (its alot of them down here ). The atmosphere is really nice.Great place for the family. Great activities for the little kids they have a arcade area and rides plenty of stuff to do down here.

Nice beach for a first visit. The waves not intimidating and there are seashells. Crowded at times and parking can be hard.

Great beach! We came here from another beach that was disappointing, and this one was way better! No seaweed floating in the water, good sized waves, clear water.

Loved how clean it was...staff was very nice. Other guests were great and rentals are very reasonablely priced.

Primo, public beach, with facilities. Easy parking. Great location, with just enough shops handy, for food, sunglasses, boogie boards, etc. Love this place, just cant afford the rent, or the plastic surgery ;)

I always have a great time at Mission Beach, whether its at the Bay, Belmont Park, or just hanging around the Boardwalk. Mission Beach has great vibes and fun atmosphere for family and friends!

My second favorite beach

Really really like this beach, my family and i have been visiting it for a few years for the 4th of July. The lifeguards are great. But the bathrooms are awful not kept up at all. On the 4th of july if you want to go to this beach it is best to go super early, and wow trying to find a parking is crazy.
