A nice little park/memorial by the beach, next to the USS Midway Museum, so make sure to visit them both on the same trip

Ive lived in San Diego since 1975. That is the first time in my life I have been to tuna Park! I have been by tuna Park maybe a thousand times! it is a nice quiet and beautiful tranquil place to go. The statue of the sailor kissing the girl is there! Also right there in the water is the Midway museum. Upon looking on the deck of the museum. I noticed a CH-46 helicopter I worked on in the Navy back in 75 to 79. What memories that brought back for me. I guess Ill have to get off my lazy butt and go toward the Midway museum!

Great little park area next to the Midway. The Bob Hope Military Memorial is exceptionally nice. Theres a statue of Bob along with various statues of members of the military. They are watching him as he performs his comedy routine. The soundtrack plays many of his jokes and you can hear the military audience applause in the background with each punchline. Well worth a visit.

I love this place .... It just sucks that kids have done so much damage to the memorial and the Bob Hope dedication.

Great park on the San Diego Bay. Several statue groups can be viewed for free, including The Kiss (identical to the one seen in Sarasota, FL) as well as a dedication to Bob Hope as he entertains a small crowd.Metered parking is available (hence the term free earlier), but there is no charge until 10:00 a.m. at the time of this writing.The Wharf Park spans several naval displays ranging from Tall Ships to an aircraft carrier. There is a charge to visit these ships.Beautiful setting near down town San Diego and very popular, based on my observation on the number of people walking about on a Tuesday morning in January.

After parking in Seaport Village we took a walk along the waterfront to get a view of the USS Midway. As you walk along Harbor Drive towards the Midway not only will you see some beautiful views, an occasional vendor, but some magnificent monuments as tributes to those that have served and serve in the military. We chose to view the Midway from Tuna Park. Its massive. But Tuna Park houses its own treasures. Obviously you cant miss the massive statute of Embracing Peace. What you might miss is the total display of the National Salute to Bob Hope and the Military. You can see the statute of Bob Hope but if you dont walk up to you might miss out. Theres a recording of Bob Hope entertaining the troops and they are all there in a semicircle. Some are injured, some have signs for Bob. This is truly a work of art.

This is a great place to visit when you are in San Diego. The USS Midway. Is great to visit also the near by restaurants. Beautiful view.

It was a nice place to visit. I am a Navy veteran and really liked the Embrace Peace Kissing Statue.The Salute to Bob Hope and the Troops Memorial actually played a recording of his comedy routine from when he visited the troops.I thought this was pretty cool!There were people from various parts of the world that were there taking pictures.If you want food you dont have to leave the area.Located next to the Bob Hope memorial is The Fish Market Restaurant where you can get some amazing FRESH seafood!Its right on the water and has an amazing view of the bay.

Great park with a beautiful view and good food places. Walk along the park to get a great view of what San Diego is about. There are foods around the area, little shops selling trinkets and the seaport village nearby. Great for dates in my opinion. Head here on a sunny day and you would not be disappointed !

I love ld the sunsets in this place. There is a guy that plays the drums during the sunset rigt in front of the statue, it makes you feel like youre in a movie so cool! I love it

Just a drive tru here. You can check the big ships and can take a ride on the boat. Didn’t get time to experience but sure will try another time. Between the statue is beautiful

Beautiful and full of history! Parking was pretty easy to find and affordable. Great views and makes for a good and memorable first stop in SD.

Nice stop went to the fish market there good seafood buys there worth the trip. Poor social distancing

This Tuna Wharf Park is a good viewpoint for the USS Midway, and you can find the Unconditional Surrender Statue here too.But do not park your vehicle here, then visit the museum. As the meter here only with maximum 3 hrs limit, which is not enough time for you have a walk in the museum

This is such a unique place to come and appreciate what others did for our rights of freedom.

Leisurely strolls on the waterfront dont habe to be boring and this Park exemplifies this effort to make it as enjoyable as possible. The Pacific oceans expansive turquoise color really mixes well with the nice scenery of the Wharf. Enjoy your stroll.

The staff was very nice and helpful. Several members on board were actually deployed on the USS MIDWAY. GOD BLESS THEM and there family. If it wasnt for them we wouldnt have our freedom. Thank you very much.

I am on a hunt for the best chowder. A friend recommended this new England chowder in this restaurant and I am soooo in love with this clam chowder. Delicious! I ordered the large size and this can feed 3 to 4 people. Love it!

It gets pretty touristy here on certain days but worth a visit later after sunset or sunrise. You pretty much get the park to yourself!

Lovely place. The statue of the sailor and nurse was symbolic and well presented. The colours painted were true and realistic. The height and posture were captured appropriately and reminds of the happy moments following the news of end of WW II

The Kissing Sailor large statues can be seen by the avenue and once closer they are a reminder of the photograph taken in New York in 1945. The park is clean and there is parking. If you stay in the downtown area as I did, it is just a small walk to it. A nice stop while visiting San Diego.

Its a beautiful sight to look out over the harbor and see the incredible ships from military to civilians alike. The statue of the marine kissing the nurse is unbelievably detailed and quite romantic at that.I sat on the bench with my coffee in the early morning hours and it was so peaceful and serene, there were people walking their dogs and jogging but the hour i spent felt like it was just me and the world.A perfect place for you time or the entire family for bike riding,long walks or a picnic.Either way you Will enjoy everything about this place!

Nice place to sit and look at the water and enjoy the nice weather. I gave it 4 stars because I do not like the large statue sitting in the middle of this park (the sailor kissing the woman). I would have preferred a better looking modern design for a statue in this area.

It was interesting. Very little parking, the view of the water and the benches that are facing the water are nice! I also loved the trees around it. The statue itself was not what I expected. In my case seeing a picture of it was better, but it was still cool to see it in person

Lovely statue. Nice park. It can be pretty crowded sometimes but the history and the beautiful scenery definitely make it worth it. A San Diego must see.

The park is nice. Many restaurants to choose from. Rent a bike or hop on a scooter. Also buggy tours are great. Lots of statues to take pictures.

Depending on time of day you get there,you can take some great photos of the statue with the USS midway in the background,it can get very busy and crowded so get there early, no fee to pay to see statue

Located right next to uss, stop by and take pictures at the statue. It is recommended to take a walk at a time when it is not too hot.

Visited the Midway Floating Museum - amazing! The exhibits were fascinating and varied, with a combination of military history technical information and information on the lives of the people who served aboard her. The volunteer staff were helpful, knowledgeable about their subject, and very friendly. The only negative feature was that the photo booth employees were a little obnoxious.

Google has been reminding me for months that Ive visited this place called Tuna Harbor Park. I can never remember what it was so I looked it up. Oh, now I remember. Is the park with that #metoo statue. Nice place. Nice view of the Midway. And the statue is iconic.

Sometimes they have parties on this big huge Navy ship right here which is really cool and I can hear their music!!!

Nice place to walk around in the city with great views of the sunset. There are a lot of aggressive pan handlers in this area though

Easy parking

I assumed it was a part of the USS Midway Museum. Just now found out that area is called Tuna Harbor Park. Its nice to see a statue of famous pic of a sailor kissing a nurse.

This was a neat place. Not much to do but was cool to visit.

Great place to take a relaxing walk and take in the views. Historical landmarks, plenty of food, and tons of space to breath. The only downside is all the rental scooters. They overtake the sidewalks and some inexperienced riders tend to almost hit you. They should restrict these scooters to city streets and not the embarcadero, unfortunately. But overall still a great experience!

Take change for parking you will need it everywhere for parking
