I love this place! Its pretty. And mostly quiet and theres been nobody else there whenever I have been there. So obviously the number of people going there is not to high. But there are a lot of runners who frequently jog over it. So. You know. But again I love it here very much!

One of the nations 88 suspension bridges left nationwide; so mark it off your list once youve been there. Theres free on street parking on both sides of the bridge so no long walking for those that arent able to hike. It has all the natural San Diego terrain around to enjoy your suspended walk. Its been a tradition to bring a lock and lock it on the cables but, the city has been cutting them off when they check on the bridge.Be careful with little ones, I know how curious children are, but, they can fall right through the cables.Enjoy!

This secret little oasis is in the middle of a residential area yet once you get on the bridge - you feel like youre in the middle of a jungle, not in San Diego. Really easy to get to and lots of parking spots nearby. Youll see lots of local residents walking by or taking their pets out for a stroll - so be mindful of that when taking pictures.

Absolutely Gorgeous Views. The green lush area below is accessible through a small staircase on one side. The bridge has a decent sway. It will move back & forth as you walk. It is tall enough to give you a bit of Vertigo. Very short bridge, but worth the trip. Check out the suspension wires that extend out & secure the top of the bridge to the ground, they are massive! And walking down below, underneath the bridge, gives you a new perspective and appreciation for the work.... Happy Trails

Interesting bridge thats quite scenic during the evening time as well. I would say that it can sway a bit as people walk on it and the gaps in the wires are large enough a small child could slip through. I would recommend being one adult with one small child or just not do this scenic bridge. There are multiple of them but I only did this one.

Nice, free, simple pleasure. It is just a bridge that leads from one neighborhood street across a vast expanse to another neighborhood. For visitors to the area it means little more than a buoyant suspended bridge but for the local residents it saves the extra time walking around a deep undeveloped valley.

I had to stop by and do a little light painting at one of San Diegos well known secrets, The historic Spruce Street Suspension Bridge! The Spruce Street Suspension Bridge was built in 1912 by the City of San Diego, and was designed by Edwin Capps. The bridge was designed as a pedestrian by-way for the local neighborhoods to the Fourth and Fifth Avenue trolley stops. While the trolley lines are long gone, the bridge remains today, and has become a popular destination for neighborhood locals and tourists alike. At 375 feet in length, and 70 feet in height, it is a visually stunning structure. While it is interesting to look at, it is even more fun to walk across, as it is a suspension bridge. This means that the bridge can sway in the wind; underfoot under a run or back and forth if there is a crowd of people on it trying to move it!
