Nice area for walking or sitting by the lake. My dog enjoyed it. There are lots of ducks, geese, and other birds including egrets. There are walking trails, restrooms, doggy bags, trash cans, picnic tables. There were several people fishing from shore and a couple boats on the water. There is parking and a boat launch and some docks as well as little peninsula-like areas. Seems like a nice place for a picnic. Many people were feeding the birds bread.... Im confused about why they think thats a healthy thing for them. Please dont!

First time at this location. Not alot of shade or places to sit throughout our 8 mile walk. I only saw 1 outhouse throughout our walk. I hear its a 16 mile walk altogether. Definitely wide open which would make me feel safe If I go solo. Great place to bike with the kiddos. I gave it a 4 because of the views and the nice breeze I felt today. I would go again.

It is just a nice play ground in a nice area. Love Lake Murray area. You can tell People in the neighborhood appreciate it since there isnt trash everywhere and people pick up after themselves. Wish more parks were like this one.

Its a nice place to take you dog for a walk, go for a bike ride, and other outdoors activities.

Great place and plenty of space to walk, run, fish or ride your bike. They just need to check the portable restrooms along the trail more often to clean them..

Great place to walk, run, or bike. It is about 3 miles one way to the end. Dogs are allowed as well as long as they are on a leash. They even have dog poop bags and trash cans along the trail. Plus, there is a nice lake all long thr trail you can enjoy.

Great view, easy to social distance, they got fishing you can bbq. Go walking, jogging, or whatever. Or you can sit in your car and overlook the lake. And is not far from the College area where I reside.

This lake is relaxing go fish, bike, run, walk or picnic you cant go wrong here. Great environment for all ages and there is many ducks if you like to feed them.

Nice wide path for walkers and bikes. Beautiful scenery and shade. 3.5 miles to the far side of the path makes a nice 7 mile ride.

Perfect place for younger kids to get together and play. Lots of room to play and relax. Porta potty no restroom..

No play equipment for kids but who needs it when there are a billion ducks to throw bread. Side note: I just read that ppl should stop giving the ducks bread. They eat many other foods and bread is not very nutritious.

It was wonderful there today. A group of us that are in a fiber spinning class met together and spread out under a tree with our spinning wheels and some of them brought knitting and we all sat around and chatted and spun and it was wonderful.

Favorite lake to visit thats near me. Beautiful. Well taken care of. Good prices for boats, kayaks, fishing stuff and etc. I love going out on the water. I love going on that long hike around the lake. I love the huge kids play ground that they have. Ive been coming here since I was a kid. I used to fish here with my dad every weekend, I used to go running here and enjoy nature every other day before I had my kids, my mom took me here all the time to feed the ducks growing up, now I use the boats or I go bike riding with my family. :)If you dont have a yearly fishing license, get one so its cheaper to go fish when you want.

One of the places people kept saying we should visit was this park ... I can see why, But it wasnt as over the top as I thought it would be.If u r into working out outdoors this place is heaven, lots of trails to walk through all while enjoying some very nice green scenery.I Expected to see some wild life since it sounded like it was all over the place here, ahh not so much didnt really see any aside from birds, turtles in the lake area.

Love this parkIts very clean, big grass space for playing. Structure is nice and clean. Fun little things like rock climbing, exercise equipment, rolling slide, spining thing.The only thing is bathrooms, there is a portal potty, feels hot in there, but they clean it every 3/4 days. Its spacious, would fit a big stroller or even for handicap. Nice track around it for kids to ride their bikes or for us to just walk around. Obviously there is also a lake, so nice view. You can walk back their on the trail and enjoy the lake.

The atmosphere is very serene and if you like to walk, then this is the place. There is a track laid out around the lake that you will absolutely love. There are ducks, sea gulls and other wildlife to enjoy while you walk. The sunset is just amazing to watch as it reflects over the lake as it vanishes over the hills beyond. Its a diamond in the rough...a hidden secret.

Clean and neat. Has pavement which makes walking, biking... become easier.

After nine weeks of self imposed confinement, it was really nice to walk around a lake, see the ducks, hang out with my sweetie, adult children, and grandchildren. Lake Murray is freeway convenient, and is a happy fit for this. Ill find an excuse to get back soon :D

Amazing park! Lot of area to play in but does has a very distinct odor! There are thick grass and weeds covered in many areas and under those big weeds are deep holes which animal may live on about the size of a human leg and humans and very likely to step in those holes and twist or break an ankle! Beware with children because they could get hurt! Everything else was very clean

Nice quiet park but very limited parking. Also seems to be a bit outdated...

Great little park. Tucked away inside the community so its safe. Loads of grass for kiddos to run around. Went for a birthday party and with two jump houses there was still a ton I mean a ton of room.Behind the park it looks like there use to be like a ditch or Arroyo with sand and foliage. A little boys paradise. All in all just a great family park.

Fun park. Kids and I love it. The only thing we dont like too much is the portable bathroom instead of a real one. No place to wash your hands afterwards. Other than that it has fun equipment for the kids to play, swings and a few tables to have a birthday party .

Its a nice place to go and the view is ok...needs some cleaning but my main concern Im these times that we are in I noticed a lot of people with no face mask on or just holding it in their hand,I dont mind but there was too many people and parking lot was full,if we werent in this time of the covid 19 I wouldnt of mind.dont get me wrong though its nice to go walk or bike ride

Just so you know, if youre one of those people (like me) that didnt read the signs about how the trail doesnt go all the way around, it doesnt. If you try to walk around the water treatment plant, youre going for a long walk. Think I did 8 miles total. Nice place

Decent park but no public restroom except for a nasty port a potties. Unique play structures, away from the road, great view of the lake. Needs more seating for adults though.

One of the best places in San Diego to walk your dog or enjoy a walk, run or bike ride. Note that the walking path doesn’t go all the way around the lake, so you’ll need to plan time to double back to your car. There are bathroom facilities along the way but cleanliness can be hit or miss. Note the park is closed the second Tuesday of every month.

Great play area for all ages kids and lots of grassy area to play on with shade. But there are no restrooms, the only one is a disgusting Porto potty.

Been going there 4 years. Now mostly just walk my dogs there. Safe place during the day.

Such a nice park in a nice neighborhood. The equipment is will kept and so is the grass. Lake Murray is in the background and very easily accessed. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars is because it does not have a bathroom. There is an outhouse, though, but personally I really dont like outhouses.

Patriot league baseball is a great place for families. The snack bar is awesome too.

Based on the name alone it gets 5 stars. the whole lake Murray area is awesome, a true treasure of East San Diego. The neighborhood around this area cherishes this wonderful open space and does amazing things like the Fourth of July fireworks celebration. Visit lake Murray, have some fun, and live a little locally.

A very nice, peaceful place. It is well maintained and usually not crowded. The jogging -cycling path is long if you go all the way to the end. It does not loop, you must return on the same path. Bring water, powerade or whatever. It was quite warm today.

Good place to stroll with your doggie or jog on your workout. Lots of fun at lake Murray community park. Let the kids burn some of the energy theyve been storing. Golf, Tennis, biking, plus fishing too. Fireworks at the park on 4rth of July .

Its a great place for the children to enjoy the playground area. The only thing missing is a real bathroom. I dont like the portable bathroom that is available.

People should use parks more. Take your kids outside to play. Go out side and play youre ownself. This is a great place to start. Its a park next to a lake. There is a lot to do. Not just a play ground.
