My good friend passed away recently. For years he mentioned always enjoying coming to Chicano Park. The moment we drove up my jaw just dropped. The artwork is just incredible! Its like a history lesson in Latino culture. If you ever visit San Diego you need to make some time to stop by Chicano Park.

Fifty years old, this beautiful sacred space is rich in art and history. Delicious food and great beer are within a short walking distance.Dont miss the annual celebration in April that features art, music, Indigenous dancers, low riders and multiple activities for children.

Its a nice park. I live all of the paintings all over the walls. Its right next to a small shopping Plaza and it has a bathroom and decent size park. Some of the homeless wondering around there kind of makes it look a little sketchy, but overall, its okay. lots of shade so you can relax out of the sun. Great place for pictures too.

I hadnt been in a long time, like a decade. Decided to take my boyfriend and we left after 10 minutes. A lot of loitering. Bathroom was disgusting. The murals are fun to look at but you cant enjoy if youre afraid of standing around to long. Last time I was there a local friend took me. I wish I could write a better review but it didnt feel safe.

Chicano Park is an amazing gallery of Art, Art History, World History, Local history, and Political Science. It is evidence of the resilience, creativity, solidarity and culture of the people of Barrio Logan and surrounding areas. We are so lucky to have this National Landmark in San Diego where it is available to everyone!

I love this place. Its like a second home to me. I love the history that goes into the murals. My group and I actually dance there for practice... Mondays, Wednesdays, and sometimes on Friday. The bathrooms could be cleaned more frequently. Im always here. Ive seen some of the reviews... I totally agree with it. The homeless shouldnt be at a family park. There are children who are always here. They shouldnt be scared because a homeless person is sleeping with all their stuff. Also I was at the park one time and there was this homeless man with his pants down. Familys left because they didnt want theyre children looking at that. People kicked him out. But he kept coming back...

I would say, the Chicano Park is the greatest sight to be seen in San Diego. It is awesome to see how great artists have beautified a monstrous and destruktive highway. The artworks are truly impressive, spiritual and inspiring. Being founded in 1970,The park is truly a historical and landmark, celebrating a proud heritage.

First of all, rest in peace to the people that died from the car last year. You are loved and remembered, and the memorial shows it. The park was clean and absolutely gorgeous. Lots of rich history and amazing art is there to show it. I wish every Mexican American knew about this place because it is a piece of significant history and has become a real beauty. The unique environment right under the entrance to the Coronado bridge has a lot of room and plenty of incredible street art that displays the events that happened in Chicano park. It is an awesome area that I thoroughly enjoyed and will be returning to. Im ready to visit during Chicano Park Day next year so I can see how people celebrate this part of San Diegos history! This is truly one of the hidden gems of San Diego.

Absolutely inspiring. Thanks to people like Josephine Talamantez, Chicano Park is one of the most groundbreaking examples of successful social activism and land stewardship to give some vestige of place back to a community that has had so much taken away. As a landscape architect that designs parks, I hope to be a part of my own local revolution someday.Plan to spend a lot of time there. Stay still and let the murals teach you history you cant learn anywhere else.

The sheer expanse of artwork is incredible. Theres a sense of reverence and pride in the air. As you walk along observing the intricate artwork pay special attention to the detail and pride poured straight from the heart of the artists. Plan to spend at least an hour.. youll be glad you did.
