Came here on a weekday morning looking for a space to jog. The 4 mile loop or the 11 mile loop around the entire Fiesta Island sounded like an appealing way to customize the length of your jog.Note the one-way paved road is shared between cars, pedestrians, cyclists where the speed limit is 25.Thus, beautiful scenery, but caution the shared road.

I LOVE fiesta island and its the perfect place for pretty much any outdoor activity, get together, and water sports! The off-leash dog park is the largest dog park in San Diego! The island is GREAT for road biking, running, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, jet-skiing, boating, floating, swimming, grilling.... YOU NAME IT!! My one and only complaint is the trash left by careless people so PLEASE help keep the island clean - pack it in, pack it out!

Nice calm waters, you can dig up a hole and do a bonfire. Lots of families having a great time! On the other hand, not enough porta potties, and the few ones there are extremely dirty, they need to do something about that, especially due to Covid19.

Love that I can park on the sand and build a fire. Lots of homeless tho and police sometimes close the park then give u a ticket but still a cool place to hangout.

Love this place, but hate that the very few Porto potty’s are very dirty. This place needs more Porto potty’s or permanent bathrooms with septic tanks. And very little enforcement on the water . Lots of out of control jet skiers or some who just do not follow or know any of riding rules . Where are the life guards or harbor patrol ? Only see them at ski beach . Not safe at all on the side closer to the south launch. And sad that people litter so much . Pack it in and pack it out people ! 09/10/20 . Maybe we should pay an entrance fee to have bathrooms and more patrolling on beaches and water . And also maintenance too. This place needs help in all areas.

If I was the mayor of San Diego I would be embarrassed of Fiesta Island. Theres not enough porta potties and they have not been serviced for at least 9 months. Youre afraid to go in one concerned about catching something. People are forced to go into the bay to do their Duty.

I love taking my dogs here! It has a huge (and I mean HUGE) open space for your dog to run and play with others. Of course, some dont clean up after their dog but many do and its generally clean for the amount of dogs that show up. Most people let their dogs enjoy the property off leash but you get the occasional person yelling at your dog to leave them alone. All in all this is a great place to let your dog access its wild side and enjoy an open field/ocean.

Great place to go cycling, walking, fishing... Also one of the few places you can drive your car right up to the water. There are limited firepits around the island, so get there early to claim one. There are a lot of people now living in campers on the island, but nothing that would keep me away.

People must be really starved for open spaces, this place was a pretty grim dirt heap if Im honest.Really, I could see it being ok if you were doing water sports, and I guess you could have a fire but Im pretty sure it closes up at night so..the dog park is decent for dogs, but not much to do or see otherwise.skip it unless you are specifically going to do water sports or walk a dog.

We have been coming to fiesta island since moving to San Diego over three years ago. Its been a wonderful place to visit with dogs because the entire island has been off-leash. Now that is about to change and we will miss it so much. Its really sad when things like this are taken away and we lose the freedom to enjoy such beaches with our dogs.

On the west side of the island, there is plenty of space to set up a BBQ with and/or play a catch with friends and family. This is a San Diego natural landmark that cant be missed! One thing: the gate entering the island has closing hours (there are signs but I believe the gate closes at 10 pm) so be aware of that.

Beware of copious amounts glass (thanks to beach slobs). The water can is so-so in terms of cleanliness as pets are allowed in and it is a bay so the water doesnt exactly refresh itself the way it does when at the open ocean. (Whatever goes in the water stays in the general vicinity). The plus side is that pets are allowed and you frequently see horses here with their owners. Its easy to set up a small beach camp and grill without a permit. People also launch jetskis and stuff like that. Gets crowded so go early for a spot. All in all great mini vacation spot for cheap.Make sure to wash those hands! And clean up after yourself!
