This is a really nice place and this is the first time that I came here. The huge trees are absolutely magnificent and its very peaceful. Every so often a large plane flies over above. We were only here a short while so I didnt get to walk the whole area but I think I got some pretty good pictures of some nice areas that arent seen when just driving around on the road.
Super chill park with not a whole lot going on. People parking and enjoying some SD shade. Great for bird watching (just encountered a red tail hawk about 8 ft away land on a low branch. Beautiful). Great for watching planes on final approach to SDIA (listen to the tower on Scanner Radio Pro and follow flights on FlightAware). A fair number of grassy areas and picnic tables for use. Park closes 6pm-sunrise.
Nice park w lots of trees. The bathrooms are always clean for a public bathroom.
This hidden gem.has amazing views of the city skyline and wonderful ocean breezes. You can see the Coronado bridge and walk through huge magnolias and rare specimen palms as you hang out on a blanket or throwing a frisbee. Did I mention the annual Taco festival... yeah its the goods
Spectacular view of the city nightlights from here! Always maintained, clean and family and pet friendly.
Nice place to walk around. Great views
A beautiful park with a great view. A wonderful place to escape during these times.
Beautiful at sunset. Cool park with a great neighborhood vibe.
I dont hate Golden Hills Park infact its one of the most Beautiful Parks in San Diego Ca.
This park has no playground but rather trees and open space. Great for pick nicks and to watch fireworks on fourth of July. Hiking/walking trails connect to it. Good place to just sit and have your lunch. Luigis pizza is near by.
The roof was pretty nice. 10/10 would climb it again.
Great open space for picnics. Lovely view of the city.
Born and raised at this park. 28 years old and happy to bring my 5 year old and see her where I played. Park hasnt changed, wonderful as ever.
Golden Hill Park a nice place to walk take a leisurely run or just sunbathing, and theres a view where you can see over downtown and just relax and seeing the sun set
Small little grassy knoll of an oasis tucked into San Diegos version on victoria era San Fransisco.
What a amazing park!!!Great place to go for a walk.
Lots of activity space, bathrooms, lots of space and parking, can see sunset!
Visit the big trees. Experience their cool shade.
Great for walking, and beautiful scenery.
Very spacious park, lots of trees.. Shade, but no play ground
Very relaxing and enjoy seeing the sunset
Not much there for the children. Does have nice restrooms and looks like it is a place with a view as you walk your dog. Away to relax from the stresses of the day.but you cant stay late for the park is closed to vehicles at 5pm.
Lovely spot for chilling and games. Be sure to check out the ancient California Fig trees!
Love this park, very nice views and plenty of trees to enjoy some shadow
This park is great for many reasons. I go running there a few times a week and its great when it is shut down to cars in the morning. My kids love to play in the giant fig trees or just run through park kicking around a soccer ball or trying to fly a kite. Best of all I love the views that you have of downtown. My problem with the park is that many people choose to drive to quickly. I hope that the city puts something in place to stop this.
A hidden treasure, please help keep it clean
Beautiful park. Usually not overcrowded
Very community love and come together type of place
Amazing for soccer training 10/10
Great place to visit
Neat little section inside of Balboa park that gets overlooked by tourists because its more of a residential area. I would have never known this section had a name or even existed if it werent for the neighbors inviting me to spend the Fourth of July with them. Fireworks from this park is okay. Not the greatest but awesome if you want to get away from the large crowds (Also, dont be the butthole who parks in the park during the fourth. Its low visibility with a ton of people around). You can see fireworks coming from the bay but other parts are blocked off from the trees.
Great hidden spot to hang out, take pictures with Downtown Dan Diego as a backdrop. Can sometimes be occupied by varying numbers of transients and/or people smoking weed at the tables. Still a nice, pleasant, well maintained little park.
Fantastic views, cozy little park.
Nice small park. 1 mile full circle, nice place for a run too.
Its a park in golden hill. Theres BBQ areas and parking.
Small, quiet park with a view of downtown and planes coming in to land. Ample free parking. Slight sketchy element.
Beautiful nature. I love it for exercising
Calm, peaceful and good views.
Went here for a taco fest and really enjoyed the space. There is an amazing tree that must span over 100 ft in diameter
Quiet and peaceful.
A little to full of golfers
Nice little section of Balboa Park. Good place to see the sunset.
Perfect place to smoke methg
Love this park, the view, walk and lots of parking
Great spot for a inner city getaway.. dont stay too long and crowd it though. Landing planes over your head, and one of the greatest views of the city skyline
I love this park! Its small, but has great views of sunsets
Wow what a difference a decade makes!!!! Nice comfortable spot t eat lunch, hang out, chill out. With out the fear of gangs and crime. No homeless hanging out either
Awesome place to relax in the sun or shade. Stunning views.
Beautiful views, beautiful park, beautiful neighborhood!
Quite place to walk and run
Nice place to include on my walk. Beautiful view of city too.
The best!
It has public toilets, the areas are clean and the atmosphere is pleasant to live with family or friends, just to play sports and enjoy food at the tables there.
Shaded picnic table with view of San Diego skyline. And a cool breeze!
Beautiful but lots on holes and not a perfect place for burgers and beer but fun
Peace and quiet.the perfect place to get my self together.
Really nice park.. lots of trees and space nice views of downtown.. and they have allot of events there went here for tacotopia and brews and burgers there dont drink but the food was awesome... Great place and fun times
Nice place but little unkept
Great views and such a nice green slice of nature in the city.
Ive been coming here since the early 80s and I must say that the Park has seen better days. It must be getting close to needing a make over soon I hope. Nonetheless it is a good place to kill time and get a good small view of downtown along with the old and new Navy hospital.
Hella homeless people
Too many homeless there. They leave beer bottles and trash. Its scary to even hike in the area because you dont know what you will find.
Tweakers. No play ground. But a nice place to go sit and smoke
I hate to say it but this otherwise very pleasant park on a hill is mired by low flying commercial airlines on their way to landing at San Diego International Airport. This park (at least while I was there) was in the direct flight path with about one jet passing overhead with a fair amount of noise every 3-4 minutes. There seem to be some questionable characters hanging around this park as well. I visited on a Sunday 2-3pm
Went here for Tacotopia. Seems like a great little park with plenty of shade. (See my Yelp review about Tacotopia).Close to the Balboa Golf Course. Great little neighborhood but expect a lot of large aircraft overhead.
Wonderful park
Nature readily available, San Diego
Nice place to enjoy the san Diego sun
Pretty neat park...small grass areas and hidden canyons with homeless people living in it.
Beautiful views all around from the hill!
Great park to walk your dog but sometimes there’s to many homeless
I’ve been here for numerous events. It’s close to my house and no matter how many people show up to the events it never feels small and there is a always enough room. They also have enough porta potties and never a long line. I usually don’t like going to festivals but the ones hosted here I definitely don’t mind.
I love the peacefulness of this park.
Love taking my dogs at the park
Very nice, clean, family friendly park
This is a nice place to walk around and catch some views or play or exercise or relax. My dog loves it.
I went there after starting the gym back up again and it was awesome
Good location to walk my dogs it has trail if u felling outdoorsy this is my go to spot for picnic i love the view u can see all of downtown sd and the beautiful landscape
Beautiful view of the city.
Lovely park to visit
Awesome neighborhood park. The homeless do use the restroom as their motel room though.
Love them squirrels lots...
Really nice place to relax
Fantastic views of downtown. Huge ancient coral trees. Cant play on the roots though, theyve fenced them off. Decent open space for an urban park. You can also watch the golfers at the Balboa course. Directly in the Lindbergh flight path. Pretty cool if you like planes.
The trees are very old and amazing.
Nice park
Great place to just walk your dog in the morning. Very beautiful
Beautiful place
Beautiful!!! I love walking here to get recharged by the lovely refreshing nature and neat neighborhood on the way.
Great Park, its never too crowded and has great vistas. It has a small parking lot, a public bathroom and a hot coal disposal can. The only downside is that its in the park for airplanes. So you have to pause conversations every 10 mins or so.
Nice place..for soccer..or walking.
Wonderful little park for when you want the majestic scenery without the mass amount of people you would find at Balboa Park.
Grew up here and its a very amazing plcae
Beautiful park
