I was kinda disappointed. Took a cab all the way from downtown to watch sunset but the sunset was not really what I expected to be. Have watched better sunrise/sunset. So I was kinda disappointed. Maybe it was just a that day.

Definitely a nice view. And different from LA beaches. It’s just astonishing. I dk it’s the most interesting place in San Diego. Reminds me of SF, but on a sunny way. Easy to get there by public transportation too, although might have to wait some time for the bus.

This was a great getaway for a few hrs. The water here was extremely clear. This place gives you a great view, easy drive and plenty of parking. You must visit these if you want to enjoy the ocean without actually getting in....

Peaceful spot on the coast. Plenty of parking and parking ya to get to. You can bring some towels or chairs and hang out or bring your walking shoes and get in some exercise. They have weddings here. The birds flying by and surfers catching some waves give you some extra views to check out. Great place to check out.

This is one amazing spot to spend your evening by the cliffs. This place is also close to point Loma. There are some good restaurants although not very close to the oceanfront but within a mile or so...Best place to watch the sunset in San Diego after the Coronado bridge for sure. Also, this is a very good spot for doing photoshoots!

Always love it here. Great place to surf, sponge, and watch the sunset. Get there at an off time to find decent parking, occasionally the parking at the end of the road is open. I usually take family from out of town here since it is just a beautiful area with cool people. The hiking in the area is also nice. San Diego = No Bad Days!

Awesome place to watch that famous Pacific Ocean sunset in San Diego. There is a decent amount of parking available as well, so you don’t need to plan ahead that far. Watch out though as the rest of the people around will either be necking in their cars, toking up, or flying drones around, or all three. The sunset really is beautiful here though so it’s worth it.

This place has everything, awesome cliffs, sunsets, waves, caves, surfers, yoga girls, Daredevil dudes, joggers, walkers, dogs, seagulls sand, rocks and for some reason, in the smack center of the park, a marble bench where you can sit and see the sunsets, just the one, pointing due west. It is an awesome place, I highly recommend it

Luscombs Point is a nice place to watch a beautiful San Diego sunset. It is accessible via Sunset Cliffs Drive-south-from the I-8 Freeway west and also by taking the bridge (south) across the flood control channel ( You follow Sunset Cliffs Drive southward, straight through Ocean Beach and Luscombs Point is a very large dirt lot, bordered on the east side of Sunset Cliffs Drive by the upscale Pt. Loma and beachfront homes. The only parking is curbside and on a nice day its often difficult to find a parking space without a short walk.Luscombs Point is well known as one of Sunset Cliffs premier righthand surf points; the bottom consists of flat rocky reef.On a very good day, when the winter swells are out of the west or northwest and about 4 to 8, this area produces some very nice righthanders : Its at its very best between 6 to 8 with an occasional 10 beauty. Its usually best when its glassy or slightly windblown however, it can also get quite crowded; when its at its hot, it should be surfed by only very experienced surfers. The crowd can also get quite aggressive but, surfing etiquette prevails. Its best surfed at a medium to low tide, with the very low tides producing some extremely steep drops, walls and an occasional tube. The medium tides producing some long walls and nice off the lip rides ; if you can make it around an occasional inside wall, the ride is quite long. Its also a good place for photographers, because the break is closer to the rocky shoreline. When paddling out, its fairly easy unless you get directly in front of the rocky wall when the sets are big and the tide is a little higher however, there are several good entry and exit spots. Its also a shortboarders wave. If you have a longboard, try North Garbage and other slower areas. The best months are usually December through mid February. In the summer its usually flat in this area.
