Great dog park and beach. very well maintained and even has a big fresh water stock for the dogs. Guests are kind and the environment is really friendly. Possible for dogs to swim in both the shallower side with no waves and in the bay side with more active waters. Highly recommended.

Huuuuge dog park (roughly 470 acres) located on the southwest part of Fiesta Island. Dogs are free to roam around (walk, run, play, swim) off-leash in a mostly fenced-in area (theres a very small section near the beach where you can get past the fence on land). There are plenty of other dogs for your pup to play with. A must-do doggy destination while in San Diego.

Calling this place a dog park is way underselling it. The whole island is off leash and the fenced dog park portion is ginormous. The furthest corner does get closed during the Tern nesting season but that hardly affects the size. It is large enough that people can really spread out walking, running, or on 3 different beach areas. I have even seen a number of people SUPing along the shore with their pups near by. The size does mean that some of the dogs are not as friendly and the owners tend to keep them separated and the off leash island bit means that the surrounding fencing no longer extends fully into the water so, if you have a super inquisitive dog, pay attention to the boundaries and the other dog and owner behavior. I would not suggest walking around the rest of the Island off leash unless your dog is under excellent vocal control as the traffic does get heavy during busy hours. I have also seen the main parking lot jam packed and the dog park itself still feels very free and open.

This is one of the best places to take your dog and one of the few that lets you do it off leash. Dont try to make it anything else. Leave your bike and beach gear some other place. Let Rover and Max run free for a little while and enjoy watching them do what they do!

Water is pretty clean here. The only thing I dont like about it is that its not gated and there are cars that the dog can get ran over if he/she runs to the road. People bring their babies and little children to the dog park area and they are at risk for getting pushed/ knocked down by big dogs. Otherwise its a beautiful calm area for your dog to splash in the water. Oh and people leave broken glass bottles in the sand so be careful

Literally the best place ever. Coming here and being able to let your dog off leash on such a large expanse of grounds is an amazing experience and my dog goes nuts for it every time we go. Ive gone back probably 20x since Ive found it. Huge fields in the middle of the park and surrounded by beaches and water, dogs have an absolute blast here. Highly highly recommend. Not sure if the water jugs are always in the middle, but theyve been there the last month Ive been going with a bucket of toys it seems to commemorate a pup who passed. Whoever did that, you have created something wonderful. I cant say enough good things about this park.

We took our 4 month old puppy for the first time, shes still in training so we kept her in a long leash, she loved it. We loved the fact that its fenced ..except its not completely fully fenced in so you must be careful if your dog is the type that run off. Our puppy got a long with almost every dog there with the exception of one. When we were leaving, we stopped at the gate to switch her to her normal 6ft leash, 2 dogs were near by with their owners they were both off leash (a lot of dogs are usually off leash, from what we saw) and one came up to our dog sniffed each other, seemed to like each other and were guessing the other got jealous that in literally seconds he was running towards my puppy and attacked her. It happened so fast, my husband and the dogs owner were trying to get the dog off of our pup and luckily they got it off. My dog was freaking out, the dog didnt break skin just yanked a ton of fur off of our pup :( 2 days later she grew a lump on the area...the dog didnt break her skin but caused small damage inside. Its obviously not the parks fault, just be careful, if your dog is not the friendliest...please keep them leashed.

Nothing terribly fancy but a great place to hang out with your dogs. Plenty of space if you want to have your own space or fenced in area to socialize. Clean thanks to many garbage can so no excuse to litter or not pick up after yourself or dog. Lively place but enjoyable. Sand, sunshine and water!

Amazing amazing park! Its huge so your pooch can either run around the field or you can take him by the water. It takes me at least 1 hour to walk a full circle. Many available car parking spaces, doggy bags, water for the thirsty ones (people bring bottles of water, also there are donation boxes either to leave extra clean fennis balls or take one for you guy) . People are friendly, dogs are friendly everyone is so happy.we travelled with our RV across the US for a while now and seriously this park is by far the best park we visited ( of leash )

Love it here ! My pup enjoyed the beach for his first time, and he was so excited about meeting other dogs here, however the dog owners that we encounter were very snotty and rude. I’m glad their dogs don’t seem to pick up that type of behavior from their owners it would be a sad thing.

This is my favorite dog park in San Diego. There is a long stretch of beach for both people and pups to walk down and play in the bay. Then if you walk up a small hill there is a huge open space for dogs to be off leash. There are several paths to explore. We go here at least once a week. It is a beautiful place to take your dog.

Fiesta island is my favorite dog park! I come here almost every week because parking is big and you get little trails and beach so whatever mood your pup is in, they have it here. It’s also great for paddle boarding. My chihuahua love it because it’s big and they won’t get trampled on.

This is by far the happiest place on Earth for me and my dogs!!! I have been coming here almost every week for the past 5 years. This is a wonderful place for the dogs to run around and enjoy themselves! Its like taking your kids to the playground! After all, dogs are family and they deserve a play date too! Everyone here is friendly and takes care of their own dogs. This is a giant off leash beach so generally the dogs are well behaved. We have volunteers who routinely bring jugs of water and place in the middle of the park where the water station is I honestly want to tell the haters to go home and stay far away from this beach. Yes your dogs will get dirty. Yes there are sand and mud everywhere. If youre looking for a place that your dogs wont get dirty, thats called home.

Fiesta Island is my dog Zula’s favorite place in San Diego. The dogs and owners are generally well behaved. The terrain is green and beautiful after the rains, but quickly dries out to plain dirt by the summer. The park is huge so dogs can really let themselves go and run fast. Lots of trails interconnect so you can “choose your adventure” and make it a short or long walk, stay in the grass area or make a beach loop, hang out on the benches under the eucalyptus grove, or just enjoy watching the dogs play. The dog park is *mostly* fenced, but there is a large section on the beach by the dirt parking lot that is open, so if you have an escape artist, it might be best to keep them on leash until they reach an area (or life stage) where you’re confident they’ll stay close or come when called.

This is a great place to bring your pup for them to roam off-leash. Or, if you just love dog watching, also a fantastic place to take a walk along Mission Bay Its a huge space thats gated. There is a main parking area, but you can also park along side the park and enter at any of the gates.Dog bags and receptacles are all over the park, although there are some instances where people still dont pick up their dogs doody. There arent any restrooms or doggy water bowls, so just be sure to be prepared when you come (for you and your pups sake).

Great dog park! Fairly clean, huge, lots of space, lots of shoreline. People are nice, dogs are good. Bag stations all over the place and trashcans too, so no excuse to not pick up your poop. They even bring jugs of water and have dog bowls out so you can give your dog water, since there are no water resources on the island. There are also Porta potties so you can clean up after yourself, although they can get pretty foul, but hey, if youre desperate, theyre there. They usually are stocked with toilet paper too.Too bad the citys giving it over to developers to get rich on. Check it out before its gone. That sea slug is a creature I see frequently there. Wonderful place to let your dog off leash for a while. Wide open spaces, and a beach on the bay too. Seemed to be a preponderance of large dogs, but all were very friendly, as were the humans. We had no problem finding a parking spot. There are a series of gates to gain access to the off leash area. There are porta-potties along the road. And watch out for the shaggy yellow lab - he’ll steal your ball and run off with it!

The best dog park ever! Its like dog Disneyland. There are trails, cliffs, rocks, beaches, lizards, birds, and other pups! Most dogs and their humans are very well behaved here.On a clear day you can even see downtown!Carry water, though there is usually water, we find our dog wanting it more often than we reach the bowls. I use a camelbak and a pop up bowl. You may get wet. Dogs want to meet you after theyve swam, and thats okay because theyre so cute! Only improvement to be made: please fully fence in the edges of the park! Ill help. Our dog has wanderlust and has occasionally gotten out at low tide near the road.

The entire island is leash free, but this particular 1/3 of the island is fenced in. Its a great place to take your pups so they can expend some energy. There are usually lots of dogs around on the weekend, but we have yet to come across any aggressive or troublesome dogs.It takes us 1.5 hours to walk around the perimeter at a leisurely pace. I recommend bringing your own water, but there are a few spots where metal water bowls are stationed. There are trash cans for doggie bags every 250m or so.If its been raining a lot then wait a couple days before heading here. Due to sewage drain off and whatnot the water may not be clean after it rains. I have a friend who got a nasty foot infection from stepping on a seashell after heavy rainfall.

Fantastic, huge dog park. Consistently voted best and largest in USA! Picnic tables in the middle, and doggie poop bags when you walk in. The park is in Mission Bay, dogs can jump into the bay to retrieve items or to frolic with others. The park is clean, very little trash or feces to be found. There arent any restrooms, no water. So, bring water for you, your dog. You can walk in this park for hours, so bring snacks, water, and be sure to use the facilities before you start your fabulous trek!
