Do not park here. Literally robbery. Had a sign saying its $2 every 15min then $10 after 8pm. Got here at 7pm so we expected to pay $18. Imagine our surprise when we had to pay $32. Talk to the parking attendant who was completely rude and sarcastic. Apparently its $8/hr. You get the $10 rate if you get there at 8pm although it clearly doesnt state it in their sign. Ridiculous! Dont come here if youre looking for a good place. Give your business elsewhere or better yet, Uber.

Security is too overbearing and they rarely host special events any longer, so nobody really goes there any more. They do, however, have streaming music and a very good color water fountain sculpture / installation that they fire up on occasion.

Horton Plaza Park once the place to go shopping and be entertained is now mostly vacant. 24 Fitness and couple of other stores are its last tenants. Mostly homeless people occupy its empty halls and outdoor space. If you look closely you can still see its old charm. I would recommend passing by at night to see the waterfall light up the night sky.

They spent so much time and money to finally get the public space built out just in time for Horton Plaza to fail. I fear it will be years before the space gets some new anchor for it to complement. There is a little Starbucks Cafe at the top of the plaza but not much to observe other than an interactive water fountain installation that tries its best to entertain a few kids. It honestly falls so short of the renderings that where displayed for years on the construction fencing. They should bring back the ice skating rink

A really chill place to just be. People watch, shopping, coffee, burgers and lots of eateries, clubs and fun places within a quick walk. Beautiful, my only warning is, if youre one of those who doesnt navigate one-way streets well.... Park a little further away and walk. Be careful for erratic drivers and cyclist.

Fairly new redo to an old frontage of Horton Plaza completed a few years ago. Nice burger place, Starbucks, and open grass areas make for a tranquil setting in the heart of the downtown district of San Diego. If you can ignore the million transients in the area its actually nice to visit.

Cool place. Love ya of interesting architecture. It has an obelisk so... How Masonic of SD. I walk through it daily for work. Homeless are definitely there in abundance but generally not a problem. Go check out the mall before its gone. Everything but one department store is vacant and its pretty cool to walk through.

Went for a walk for with the wife and enjoyed this place at night. It was just recently open with the water works at its best. The lighting was phenomenal with the water. Its kids friendly and the best thing is that there is security onsite. It was relaxing and serenating to be there. It is stress releiving and comfortable. Take time and check it out as soon as you can.

Beautiful and spacious. They got rid of out door seating to limit homeless. Security guards monitor Park. Limited fixed bench seats available. Not suitable for kids. Great for people watching if you can tolerate mentality ill homeless passing through.Wifi available sometime.Situation not perfect, but much better than 6 months ago. Give this Park a Try you might like it. Clean restrooms monitored by security officers.

Took my nephew for a back to school event where they promoted outdoor activities and creativities. Very spacious park to allow multiple vendors to set up boothes for this type of event. Kids had lots of fun. Parking was most challenging since it is located in downtown. Theres a paid underground parking immediately next to the park but it was very expensive.

This is a new park on the northern side of Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego. There are tables where you can sit and enjoy your coffee but there is a problem: There are a lot of homeless asking you for money and some are aggressive. In the hour I was there I was hit for change at least 4 times. I like the park but they need to fix the homeless issue

Horton Plaza Park is delightful during the day. At dusk and later hours of the evening/nite is pretty scary with the sometimes aggressive homeless population all around. Also area is a bit dirty and smelly. I recommend going and walking around the eclectic Gaslamp District, but only during the day. If you go at night, go with a group...be careful, be vigilant and enjoy Downtown

This used to be my favorite mall in SD. What happend to this place? If you are trying to visit in July 2019 or later youll be disappointed. All of the stores are gone. Its a great backdrop if your trying to take pictures or shoot a music video, other than that there is nothing here but a health food store. Its disappointing. I guess their putting some tech hub in there, not even sure what that means. Sad to see this place turn into a ghost town. 1 star because other than a cool outdoor area there is nothing to do. Oh, Macys is still there. I guess that counts for something.

MAKE NO MISTAKE, THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE MALL (WHICH IM VERY SORRY IS GONE!) BUT ABOUT THE PLAZA IN FRONT OF IT, RIGHT ON BROADWAY AND 4TH. EVER SINCE I LEARNED THIS WAS GOING TO BECOME A PUBLIC PLAZA, I COULD ALREADY SEE TROUBLE BECAUSE I FIGURED IT WOULD BE PERFECT PLACE FOR YOU KNOW WHO TO HANG OUT AND NO I DONT MEAN THE HOMELESS NECESSARILY, BUT ALL THE PEOPLE THAT ARE UP TO NO GOOD, WHO ARE TROUBLE MAKERS AND SURE ENOUGH THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT HAS BECOME AND YOU CAN TELL THE CITY IS TRYING VERY HARD TO NOT LET IT BE TAKEN OVER BY THESE PEOPLE, SO MUCH SO, THAT I BET ALL THE BUDGET IS GOING TOWARDS SECURITY AND NOW THEY HAVE ZERO FUNDS TO BRING ARTISTS AND ACTS LIKE THEY INTENDED TO DO. BUT YES, IT TRULY HAS BECOME LIKE A PRISON PLAYGROUND WITH ALL THESE CHARACTERS WAITING FOR THE GUARDS TO BE DISTRACTED AND GET AWAY WITH STUFF....IT IS JUST TERRIBLE WHAT HAS HAPPENED AND BTW THAT PUBLIC LIBRARY DOWNTOWN, PRETTY MUCH SAME AS ABOVE.

Still hurting from that I didnt even get nothing for my kids remember the two hour free it shouldnt been no more than 20 bucks I tell you that no signs to show new owner just slide in here like you used to its the same rate they got the same paint and banner on the walls like it used too

1st: It is a park with no grass or trees. No swings, or any fun stuff for kids to climb on. It is a place near Horton Plaza shopping center, featuring concrete instead of grass/trees, and no fun stuff. It does have a stupid water fountain thing, which sends columns of water approx. 3ft. in the air. Oh, and bathrooms.2nd: Considering the above, it is NOT A PARK.3rd: The single redeeming factor about Horton Plaza Not A Park is the adjacent Starbucks.I purchased a hot Caramel Macchiato there, so it was a nice fast visit.

The green part of the park is very small compared to the rest of it. The light color of the stone covering the majority of the park and lack of shade, make this area overly bright especially on a hot day. I havent seen any events going on since the first week after it opened (it was advertised as a place for concerts and events while it was under construction for almost 2 years). For as long as customers had to deal with the construction inconveniences, Im not that impressed with the outcome. The fountain restoration, however looks great
