Beautiful and perfect weather especially in November. I was able to get a caricature drawn. We ate at Waxy Oconnors Irish pub and the food was amazing. The service was on point as well. We will definitely return to try other restaurants and shop. Next time I would like to do a river boat tour when I have more time. Absolutely gorgeous place to check out and can be romantic as well.

This place reminded me of Chicago downtown where the Chicago river merges with the downtown skyscrapers, bridges, and sidewalks...Restaurants, water fountains, and artistic sculptures surrounded the body of water across several streets. People are running, walking and bicycling, so that’s something to watch out for when exploring this area.

If you have never been you need to experience this little paradise. You can take a tour boat for 13.00 per person it’s worth it! But bring some cash to tip your boat driver at the end they are funny and teach you a lot about the history of the buildings and design of the river itself because of the flood. There are shops, dinning and the Alamo. Great place for a date or a family outing. Who knows maybe you will get lucky and be there when they are filming a Hollywood movie.

I live downtown and I love the fall evenings when the temperature and the humidity drops ... The San Antonio River Walk is one of the best places to be on the earth... Its even better during the week when everything is chill... I can take my dog Thia out and we dont have to fight the weekend crowds. I love seeing the city at night and I enjoy watching people taking a leisurely stroll along the river with their loved ones... its fun to be able to grab a bite to eat, listen to some live music... most places along the river are service animal and family friendly!

Beautiful area to check out while downtown. Full grown trees are amazing to see. Lots of shops and restaurants to check out - something for everyone. Boat tour to take also if you choose. Definitely worth checking out! Only sidenote: a bit tricky to find and get down to the area. Luckily, some helpful locals pointed out away down to the river level via a local hotel elevator. Be sure you are ready to do a bit of walking including some steps.

The place is pretty cool, but it needs some TLC; both dirty and in need of maintenance. Much too crowded for us. Also too many people not wearing masks or if they had a mask, it was on their chin and not covering their mouth nor nose. We parked in the adjacent mall and spent a long time looking for our car along with many others. Poor layout and signage. Some took a diarea dump in the stairway and left the mess for us to see on our way down the stairs. We could not find a stairway to get back up to the car so we walked up the ramp with the cars as they entered. I have no desire to return.

Really nice and relaxing place to explore has a long path of water where they give boat tours. Theres a few places to eat along the river walk it has small bridges to cross from one side to the other which is not easy crossing if your carrying a stroller. It was really hot so we didnt get to explore much outside the Riverwalk would really recommend to hang out with family and pets since its pet friendly.

You can never go wrong while visiting San Antonio and having a nice trip to the Riverwalk. The world famous river walk with a lot of restaurants around it and a boat ride to enjoy through it. this time we did not take the boat ride and just strolled across the river park with kids while trying to exercise the social distancing recommendations. Since it was Thanksgiving break you could see the festivities of Christmas to begin .

A lot of the restaurants are closed and ones that are open close early. We are at Rio Rio and had a table next to the river. Unfortunately, we were swarmed by bees non stop and if you leave your food unattended for a second the pigeons will eat it up quickly! We moved tables 3 times but did enjoy it. It’s a lot to see and just people watching is fun. Lots of homeless people just sleeping so do be careful. We discovered the love lock bridge. It’s a bridge where lovers write their names on a lock and throw away the keys to symbolize their love for eachother. I think it’s such a romantic thing to do! Paris is known for the love lock bridge so it was nice to see this in Texas! If you have a lover, take them here and do this!Overall, I came w my two sons and we enjoyed it!

The river walk is so relaxing and very much a unique experience. All the lights turn on at night and make the place look like a little wonderland. Because there is mostly just walking and food, Im not sure how much entertainment there would be for younger kids but its perfect for adults of any age and especially couples. The boat ride was lovely and memorable. Unfortunately, every shop, restaurant, and hotel in the vicinity is shamefully expensive so I would choose to eat somewhere off the river walk. Most signs I walked by said their Margaritas were $20 or more. For the sights though, its totally beautiful and romantic.

Came here on a 100° (108° index temp) Monday afternoon during covid-19. I didnt know the river walk was so scenic. It was incredibly relaxing and meditative. I was the only one here and the scenery was beautiful. The water kept temps down just a bit, too. When I was tired of the heat, I dove into the Hotel Contessa for sustenance. They let me plug in my laptop and I had some wine and pasta in the lobby/bar. (Use mobile hotspot, they dont have public wifi.) I had a great afternoon in the AC there, now Im about to head back out and do some walking. I recommend the house pinot noir and the charcuterie plate. Set me back about $30, but worth it.

On of my favorite places in San Antonio. It has a decent mixture if touristy bars and restaurants as well as more quiet areas. Basically, whatever you want, the Riverwalk is at the center of it. From there you can easily access shops, The Tower of Americas, The Alamo, or Heritage Park.

A good place for walking in peace and stress relieving in downtown San Antonio, TX. During your walk, you can also learn about the history of the town with statues and sculptures along the trail. The river provides moisture that makes the air much cooler and breathable even in summer. A boat tour should be a great choice after a long walk; the boat will take you around the river with a warm presentation from the guide. There will be trail lights during Xmas, so its great to visit after sunset at that time. Due to COVID-19, some restaurants remain closed; but the River Center (the mall) and some other restaurants are opened for shopping and dinning currently. Some parts of the trail dont have railings because the water there is shoal enough for adults to stand in the river, but still watch out your kids! Face masks are required for shopping in-store. Public restrooms are available. Parking fee and boat ticket prices are currently higher than usual due to the pandemic.

The Riverwalk is an exceptional place to visit, especially early morning before anything opens up. This morning, I walked a 6 mile loop of the Riverwalk starting and ending at the commerce street bridge. I did not see more than 50 people the entire time. This made for a super relaxing walk as I saw more ducks than people. Dont worry, you can go back later to those amazing shops when you dont want to just explore the history and walk.Overall, Ill definitely be going early morning from now on for exercise and enjoying the tranquility. Since the list of restaurants is online, I can just go directly there instead of fighting the overcrowded hoards of tourist walking along the river in the afternoons.

This constantly evolving escape from the hustle-bustle of everyday life brings you the beauty of nature to downtown, with new scenes around every curve of the meandering walkway. Tucked just enough below street level, you can lose yourself in a relaxing (albeit man-made) nature walk. Restaurants, shops, and hotels dot the pathways for your enjoyment. Its free, and you can hop in to this magical escape for just a few minutes, or a few hours - spend as much time as you like. Take the water taxi tour for a light hearted recap of downtown San Antonios rich culture and architecture. Enjoy some local Tex-Mex food and drinks. There are even some popular mega-chain establishments for those who want the cookie-cutter predictability. Stroll over to The Alamo for a glimpse into Texas history.
