Awesome place to spend time with family, friends and dogs. The kids playground is well maintained and the dog park is pretty decent. The dog park has fences and gates so you dont have to worry about your dog running away from you while at the dog park. The nearby pond is also good, but is kinda dry. But overall, is a great please to go!
Great New-ish park with cool amenities like: fenced in dog park with Benches, water for people & dogs with a separate section for small vs big dogs! Recreational exercise area & machines, and a just past each is a larger walking trail slightly elevated with a tiny pond in the center you can even go fishing in.
We went for professional photos which worked really well since this park has a lot of scenery. open fields on one side, jungle gyms, a path that ends up winding its way through some trees. and you end up with a small body of water, for looks not play.with small children I would be careful near the water, there are a lot of loose rocks and potential for falls.
2 of my dogs got sick coming to the large dog park! My dog got distemper aside from being vaccinated. My other dog got parvo and died aside from being vaccinated. Dog owner beware! It is the saddest thing to see your loving pet suffer from these diseases all because you wanted them to have a good time. BEWARE!
I wish the patrons that visit this park would pick up after their dogs. Overall, the trails are ok and the man made pond is nice to look at.
The lake was pretty. Saw people playing with their pups in the water. The walking trail around the lake would be nicer if people picked up after their pups, especially if they pooped in the middle of the walkway. The dog park has 2 separate areas, both pretty big. Met lots of friendly pups.
Sometimes dirty, but my dog’s favorite park. I walk my cat here too. Be sure to take the water-lovers to the pond! Big open field for dogs who love fetch.Would not recommend the water during the summer as it gets warm and bacteria grows and can give your dog a skin infection. That’s no one’s fault though, just be wary ️
Several amenities surrounding a nice park compete with walking trails, large pond, and dog parks for both large and small dogs. There is also exercise stations and covered play areas.
Its Excellent ! Lots of space out there people, to play basketball, walk your and playing ground, baseball we all played Vallyball and had plenty workouts Oh Yeah ! Youll should go visit ! It all Open Area people !
Beautiful scenery, trail is well kept and clean. Not too crowded
Small park with a dog park area. The walking trail is short but well paved. The dog park area could use another shade canopy, a couple more benches, and better water drainage. The small dog area is also small in its size. Dont expect much running in there. The watering devices have a button to spray water directly onto the ground which, when over used by patrons, creates a great muddy mess.
I do not remember tom park looking like this, but from what I have seen of it is a doggy park that also has a basketball court, playgrounds for kids all in all it is ok. Except they do not have adequate shade especially for being on the side of the axis road but not directly, anyway back to the shade it does have shade pavilions but the only are most efficient when the sun angles differently. Personal opinion only, go and see for yourself.
Great dog park. Went about 9 AM and there were 3 dogs there, no behavioral issues or aggressive dogs. (not referring to a specific breed, any dog can be aggressive)Unfortunately I myself, didnt feel comfortable letting my 5 month golden get into the water at the lake. Its pretty murky and seems to be growing a ton of algea, although Im unsure of what kind.
Great place!! all the dogs were super friendly when I let mine off the leash. They also have a truck where they sell fruit and hot foods.
Nice and easy trail if you are just starting to walk or run.
My only complaint is that no one cares about the POACHING EVIDENCE in the woods but other than that this is a HAVEN FOR DOG OWNERS!
Great park, I have been looking for a nice dog park and this is the 3rd I have visited. Its clean, great play areas with obstacles for dogs. Best park I have been to.
Large open spaces. They have a baseball pitch, a basketball court, in good condition. There are few areas where you will find cricket being played.Clean and well maintained. It will be good to have proper facilities and drinking / potable water. They recently upgraded/renewed the kids play area with new swing/slide complex. Nice work there!
It was a very nice place? & but there was no fish to catch n release an can somebody please tank in a lot fish in the fishing hole to get me a bite in the water an the water was to very choppy a lil bit n it was very nice n windy out sometimes.
To be quite honest I have never been to Tom slick park, but my uncle has lived over here for 20 years and they have built it up a little but throughout the years and have added doggy water stations and dog parks, playgrounds, basketball courts, etc. The only thing is that there is not a lot of good shade coverage and any Texan knows the heat is horrendous. But other than that it is doable.
If the trail had lights for walking at night and in the dog area, it’d be one of my favorite parks.
Love this park! Something for the whole family to do, including the fur babies.
This is a great park, with lots of open space to run around, or throw a ball around. Theres a baseball area, a basketball court, a small playground area, a dog park thats really fun, and even a walking/jogging trail. My only complaints with this park is there are no lights whatsoever so when it gets dark way before closing time, you wont be able to stick around a little longer. Also, the basketball court is on a hill with no enclosures so the ball always rolls down towards the parking lot.
Great spot to get your steps in and go for a hike around the water.
If you are looking for a small park, to spend an hour on a quick walk or just getting a little outside time this is a great place to do it. There is outside basket ball, baseball, a fenced dog park area, children’s playscapes and more. The atmosphere is enjoyable with a group fitness class at the front of the park and a game of cricket taking place in the field. There is outside fitness equipment and an enjoyable short, mostly shaded walking trail that leads to a small body of water. Perfect for your puppies to cool off in. In isolated areas of the park there was quite a bit of trash, and there was more than a normal amount of dog poop left behind. This could be do to a lack of doggie bag and trash stations. But over all it was a good experience. A solid 3.5 but I don’t round up ️. Thank you for reading and Happy Adventures!
I love the walk from the query and the dog parks are wonderful
Its a Beautiful park .. Great to take walks at.
Amazing place with lots of walking area. The only downside is that theres not enough parking especially when theres a baseball game going on. Besides that I really enjoy walking around the lake. The dog park is pretty spacious and very clean.
I was very disappointed because everyone out there an there was a lot of people there, none of them are wearing a mask, its horrible, we walked past over a hundred people an some with big kids an dogs, not one person had a mask, my daughter an I had our mask on the whole time, an we were there almost two hours.
Great place for a run, walk or just to read a book.
I like it a lot it has a multiple things to do! Dog park is awesome.
The dog park is okay sized. Has a big and small dog section. I normally just walk on the trails then let my dogs cool off with a swim and they love it!
Great fun place to run walk and take the dogs to the pond
This is an amazing park where many people can take part in several activities including a playscape, picnics and grilling, playing basketball, taking a walk, jog or bike ride down the trails, utilizing the fitness area, etc., yet best of all it has a dog obstacle course! And, last but not least, it has a ton of parking.
A good dog park are with some trails and a small lake.
Really nice walking path around the water. Big dog park. The playground needs an update
Awesome park, great running trail and scenery . I would advise not to fish . Besides that definitely a calming place to run, walk, or take the kids to play.
A great place to take your furry friend. The park has two off leash dog parks. The only thing that concerns me is the relatively low fence line between the small and large dog parks. An agile dog can easily leap over the fence.
A beautiful quite place to unwind after a long day.Its a nice fishing spot too.
Nice dog park. Little walk from dog park to pond. I wish there was more tree.
Love for the scenery. Great for family photos. The playground could use am update.
Playground is closed. Has a fence around it. Wish I would of known that before I talked it up to my three year old.
Friendly environment for dogs. Nice choice of activities for dogs
The walking trail was okay it was good. The dog park was not as big as I pictured it although it did attract a good amount of dog lovers. It had a pond and signs everywhere saying beware of snakes. Also it has a walking trail. And for adventure seekers I was told by a friend that grew up in that area that the woods come to life at if you get the picture
Nice dog park (big side and small side), both have obstacles and nice grass. Nice walk around the pond, baseball and basketball and playground and plenty of space to fly a kite.
A unique place to take your dogs to swim, my dog really enjoyed the experience, highly recommended.
Very nice place to walk your pup and play at an open field, although theres always a team of guys playing something right by the parking area. Has a small play place, 2 dog areas (one for big dogs, one for small ones), waste bags, workout area, water fountains and picnic areas. Very nice although sometimes people can be a pain.
The hall was nice plenty of parking. Great scenery all around the building. Spacious inside. Nice and clean.
Baseball fields, basketball court, dog park for big and small, walking trail to a little pond, playground and picnic tables. So much to do and see here.. great park, thanks to the work of the Tom Slick family and foundation and SWRI.
As far as small local parks go this is a really good place to go. This park is well maintained and has great senary to check out as you walk the trail.
This is a very nice park, not sure how I missed it living in this side of town. They also have a very nice big dog park with plenty of entertainment for your pets. The playground here is also great as the playsets used here are fairly new. Behind all of this is a very nice half mile circle for jogging/ walking with a lake in the middle. Lots of scenery here and very big park.
I love the dogs and owners at this dog park. It is generally well maintained. Since the rains last week its muddy, but generally. They dont have pet waste disposal bags in the park so make sure you grab some on the way in :)
I love coming here. Its has everything you need for fun and relaxation.
Best three hours I have spent in 7 long days!
A Very nice dog park. Lots of room for the dogs to run and play. Water fountains and agility apparatus are on site too. One of my dogs is being socialized and this place is great for that. The dog owners are attentive to their dogs and are very friendly to newbies like me. My dogs love it there. There is a nice pond and walking trails that are well maintained. In addition to the dog park there is a small exercise area (for humans)and a couple of playing fields. I think they are for soccer but Im not sure. I will definitely be back again!
Beautiful, clean and well maintained!Great place to hang out in town with great nature as well!
Nice, accessible walking paths - most appear to be wheelchair accessible. Theres an awesome little pond and a large field for flying kites or playing catch. We went for the dog park, which I wish was a little bigger, but it was very well fenced and maintained.
Not a very clean park. A lot of dog poop on trails and trash left behind. Other than that great little spot to take the kids and the dog, maybe get in a little fishing.
Not good for fishing.
Nice family park with recreation for everyone
Nice park with like 10 bags dispensers but people still dont pick up after their dogs, why? Its so annoying because its a really good park.
A great place to walk and take your dog. The small dog park is not that great after rain. I think there needs to be more things to do in the small dog park. My dog is great at obstacle courses and is well trained, however, all that stuff is in the large dog park area. We need more in the small dog area.
I love bringing my dogs here. The other dogs are so nice and playful. This place is nice.If your dog is not aggressive and can get along with others this is the place to bring them!!
This park is really cool! Its big and has a great dog park
Absolutely beautiful Park. Dog park was a little small but very nice plenty of things for your dog to do. There is also a little exercise station overlooking the dog park. Nice little body of water that my dog went swimming in she loved it. Unfortunately theres not a dog park with water that I found in San Antonio but this worked out fine
This park is best for dog lovers. It was heartwarming to see the kids playing and people playing sports. There is also a clean dog park. But, once you venture to the gorgeous quarry, you are hop-skotching around dog poo and flies. Besides that, it was a great experience.
Might not be enough parking spot on a nice day.
Good for walks. Has a lake that u can walk around. Has dog park and playground for kids a big field to run around or fly a kite on windy days
Awesome park. Cool areas around every bend.
There is a small dog park and a big dog park. The park is always clean. Has available poop bags when I forget mine and little water faucets just for the dogs.
Watched some buddies play flag football, and too our pups to the dog park. Great park, just needs some bathrooms ( or we didnt see them)
My dog loves it here
This place is a great dog park with a nice wooded trail and lake for the dogs. There is also fishing for people into that.
Nice place to go for a walk around the small lake.
Nice little trail
It definitely a nice place to take dogs but not really a place to hang out. Little to no shade unless youre walking the trail. Lots a open grass for activities.
Large open fields for sports (or bike riding), playground is fun for my kids, small pavilion for hosting gatherings (we witnessed a bday), portable toilets are decent, dog park and fishing available but didnt try either of those. Only yet unbearable let down was absence of water fountain. Bring your own water and toilet paper!
Wonderful dog park area with lots of room to play and shade; great little pond to relax with a spacious walking/biking trail.
Nice small Park and walk at the little pond. We see dogs here in the water alot... its nice to look at and climb around.
Such a Nice little park. My pup really had a great time in the doggy pool
Nice park but there is not enough parking. If its a nice day you need to get there early or hope you catch someone leaving just in time for you to get their parking spot. There is a small overflow parking lot you can check out.
Great scenery, nice walking trail paths, and very clean atmosphere.
I love taking my dog here. He enjoys it
Always lots of dogs there and everyone seems to be pretty cool.
We take our dog here almost 3 times a week. He loves swimming so its the best way to really get him satisfied with his energy.
Love the dog park here! A walk around the pond is wonderful, too. Cant wait to take my little one and the doggos when he gets a bit bigger to enjoy the park structures. The water fountains could use some TLC as they looked a little overused.
