I understand that the purpose of this place was to protect a tree. Im not clear as to how still calling the place a park accomplishes the original intended result.

Historic Bethabara Park is a wonderful piece of history near Winston-Salem. The buildings are well maintained and have excellent tours & guides. The Visitors Center is modern, well-maintained, and used for educational meetings. They have a nice little gift shop too! There are special community events scheduled almost every month of the year, geared for families and kids. Their heirloom herb garden is one of the best in the Southeast. They maintain a website to keep the community up-to-date. My personal favorites are the Summer evening concerts and the Highland Scottish Games!

I love how small this park is because it has been created to honor a humbling tree planted over one hundred years ago. I respect that Salem, Oregon had space that was set aside to protect and preserve the tree. The Wheres Waldo jokes may begin!
