My husband and I love walking here. Its beautiful & you get to see little animals from time to time. Many trails through the trees, down by the river, etc. Also they have a huge dog park area.
The path down to the river is mostly paved and was used by walkers, joggers, bicycle riders and stroller pushers. A nice wide path allows faster movers to safely pass.Although the trek down to the river was a little long from the entrance we chose (a couple of miles from the Riverfront Park entrance), we popped into the shade of the woods for a bit to cool down and that made the heat rising from the pavement path more tolerable. It was a fairly hot day, so the cool river felt fantastic by the time we reached it.
Great place lots to do bring your family and the bikes, or bring a blanket and a basket of grub, or bring the dogs for the dog park, or bring the kayaks and sunscreen. TONS to do just stay in groups because there are some creepy people in the bushes mostly homeless but some are cracked out and sketchy. Patrols have gotten better but still better not to go alone especially if you are a woman. Stay safe everyone, and please pick up your trash!
Nice cool pond with the dock. However th last time I was there people were rude when I was fishing. I would have been willing to share the dock. If they asked me nicely like a normal person maybe I would have shared the dock.
Used this as a wedding venue and wow! This place did not disappoint! 10 miles of hiking plus multiple play areas! Dont forget about the dog park either! Great park!
One of my favorite parks in Salem. Great place to be outdoors and social distance because of all the different paths. Love the natural feel of the park and that the paths are paved. Great for bikes, strollers, wheelchairs, etc. Includes a dog park, pavillion and playground.
This is what happens after spending time at the huge OFF LEASH area. My fur babies love it and so do I!
Beautiful trails nice and cleared. Good dog park full of dogs. We had a great time.
One of the best industrial reclamation to nature parks Ive biked and hiked in...
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this park! There is a dog park, trails for biking and some nature trails. Theres also a small playground for kids but it could use an update. It is by far my favorite park in all of Salem. There is also great wildlife viewing including deer, wild bunnies, snakes, eagles, hawks and other critters. It is so beautiful!
Great place to go for long walks in the rain. Its very large and has a lot of trail options.
Theres a lot of homeless people living in the park in the woods, I dont feel particularly safe walking around this park on my own. Its well maintained otherwise, and it seems to be patrolled by police and city of Salem. Its clean for the most part too.
This is an amazing gem in Salem! Great place for running, biking, dog park, or pond fishing. All the trails and public areas here are well maintained and kept up. There is access to the river and a paved path that goes all the way to River Front Park. Lots of options for any kind of outing! Would highly recommend this park!
Nice place for a bicycle ride. Loved the connection to other parks.
I really enjoy the long trail. Would recommend in the dark though.
One of my favorite parks ever. Minto-Brown has a few different trails you can take. Beautiful scenery and lots of birds to watch. So bring your binoculars if you got em!The trails are all fairly flat so you could take a wheelchair or stroller. People enjoy walking, jogging, running and biking on the trails.
Nice area and the path leads all the way down to River Front Park by the carousel and it has a beach with rocks nice place for bikes and scooters ECT... And it does have a nice peaceful scenary as well.
Woods, river, wide pathways, dog park. Very possible to safely distance. Flat. Quite a few loop trails, so great for walks or bike rides of any length.
Incredible dog park were talking football field maybe longer and significantly wider, walking paths and trails for miles, kids play set doesnt compare to keizer rapids but they have a nice gazebo area and lots of room for a grassy picnic. Water access pretty close to parking areas but if your fishing you might have to walk a distance to get to that honey hole.
Lots of trails. Beautiful. Nice dog park.
Huge park. Very clean. Nice paved paths.
Pretty & peaceful walk along the Willamette River. Nice big dog park area & nice picnic area for families.
Limited parking, once you get away from the parking lot its a Good place to social distance. Its a BIG park.
Its great for running and enjoying nature and lots of little trails. Very relaxing.
Close to town but feels like the deep woods. Nice walking/bike paths and picnic areas with access to the Willamette River
Wonderful place to ride a bike or go on a nice long walk. Great trails that can lead you all the way to Riverfront Park
You can walk for 90 minutes and not encounter anyone. There are great views of the Cascades on a clear day and ancient trees. Please dont go there.
If you want a good, fairly level place to go for a long walk, that isnt too far away, then this is a great spot to do it. Biking too. In the spring, the lakes err... sloughs? are great for kayaking. When the water drops too low you cant get past the bridge easily and the heat creates a lot of algae.
Www love this wonderful park for walking and biking. Great workout to ride to West Salem
Great place to ride bikes with the family. Fun dog park to let my doggy run around!
The whole of Minto Park is full of wonderful walks and trails, dogs on leash welcome. Many trails run along side the river, beautiful! You could walk here all day and never get tired of the scenery. If you want to run your pooch off leash, the dog park here is terrific. This has to be the best dog park Ive experienced so far in Oregon. Overall the dog owners who come here have well behaved dogs and mostly pick up their dogs business. The park is huge and plenty of room to throw balls, frisbee or just sit on one of the many benches. If your dog is aggressive this might not be the best place as all dogs are off leash and friendly .
Water is warm enough to jump right in. Such a beautiful place
Great park for a nice jog/walk also if u have dogs this is a great park for them.
Great park for walking trails. A lot of options when it comes to alterne routes to explore. Nice scenery as you walk along the river.
Miles and miles of tree surrounded trails, as well as manicured wide open spaces throughout to let your dogs run and play or throw a frisbee, etc. Spotted wild bunnies and many species of bird. Not crowded at all. Great for families, couples, or just a lone walkabout.
Minor-Brown is premier, my dogs love to run free at parking lot 2 area. Just a super park. So serene.
Awesome park, great trails and wore the pup out. He hasnt moved since we got home 6 hours ago.
One of my favorite place. That is huge park, which is perfect for running, hiking. That may be the best place for dogs too.
Always a great and close place to go, from kayaking, to bird watching, to dog park
Great place to run or ride a bike. A lot of the paths are paved but there are lots of trails as well.
Best dog park, this place is huge. The dog park is not fenced but it is so large with walking trails that my dog who usually takes off stays with me and his dog friends.
Great park. Amazing trails
I love the dog park at Minto Brown Island. Lots of space for my dogs to run.a nice place for them as well as me to socialize.
This is an awesome park really worth checking out if you happen to be in Salem and wanna enjoy a park to go to!
Wildlife can be seen from the trail. Although we saw many cars, the park never felt too crowded. On the trail today, we saw a an owl sleeping. My kids woke him up and the owl flew away. This place is always great for biking.
I have been coming here since I was a little kid, i grew up walking all the trails in this park and even as an adult today I continue to do so. This is one of my favorite parks to roam endlessly through and you can definitely do that here. There are hours worth of trails you can walk around whether you want to walk through some wooded areas or fields or walk alongside the river, this place has it all. Its peaceful, its serene, its clean, and its safe.
The trails were clearly marked and the trails were well-maintained. Very scenic and pretty!
Salems hidden gem. Great place to walk, jog, bike, and fish. Connects to Salem Waterfront Park.
Easy trails, lovely views along the river.
Nice place to go play Frisbee golf and hang out with the kids and or have a picnic!
Great place to walk and fish! Barely any crackheads!
Lots of different walking and biking paths. Huge open dog park and kids play area
Awesome park. We took bikes there and had a long ride. Highly recommend for a decent bike ride!
Beautiful! Lots of room to excersize, but crowded alot times! I dont go as often because the lots of people are there.
I love the trail systems as well as the variety of wildlife. Osprey nests, owl nests, deer, ect. Parks people keep the park clean and safe for people. Nice dog park area as well and is used alot. Good for walkers, runners, bicyclists.
Lotta bugs but otherwise pretty if you pick the right time of day
Great park. Very clean. The run/bike paths are very well maintained. Grass in park area is well kept as well.
Awesome park. Lots of different trails to use. Beautiful area
Beautiful place. Miles of hiking/biking paths. Dog park is not fenced, but still a great place for them to run as long as they are under control. Dogs are allowed on leash on all paths! Beautiful place, a must see!
I have a high energy dog and this dog park is the perfect place to let her run. A huge open field with lots of space for throwing balls, meeting other dogs and paths through the woods. Unfenced and open off leash area. All the dogs we met were well behaved and friendly.
First time being there awesome food
HUGE, beautiful park. Floating dock to fish from or swim in river from. Off leash pets welcome. Salem Park Operations does an AMAZING job taking care of our parks, which there are approximately 70 or so. Check them out and bring your appitite... there are barbecues!
We only just discovered this park but we have been twice now and we love it. There are so many trails and paths to choose from you can decide how far you want to walk each time. The paths are well maintained and people are polite and 99% obey the rules when it comes to their dogs. There is a huge open area dog park, but unfortunately it wouldnt work for one of our dogs as he would spy freedom and go off to explore instantly. My other two would be fine though. Its a beautiful park with great scenery and is very restful and a great place to walk and enjoy the outdoors.
Our favorite park in Salem to enjoy nature, and the people who make it their choice for exercise. We come here year round no matter the weather!
Great area for hiking, picnics, and exploring. It can get crowded but theres a lot of trails and space so it doesnt seem crowded
Loved it. Great place. Dog friendly!!
This park is awesome! It is beautiful with tons of trails, both paved and natural paths, and it felt safe. The dog park is huge and so nice! I really appreciated how dog owners were responsible and attentive to their dogs off leash, and every single time a dog went #2, the owner picked up after their dog! (This is important to us dog people who like a clean environment.) Love this park!
This is my favorite place to take my dog and my daughter.
The only escape to COMPLETE freedom
Number 1 favorite park in Salem. Go early, bring a bike and binoculars. Its beautiful and filled with birds, bunnies, and other wildlife.
They post the cougar advisory signs a mile into the park instead of at the entrance. At least the missing girl poster was at the entrance but you dont figure out what happened to her till you hit the cougar signs.
Beautiful place for awesome nature view and adventure
I love this park! It is a beautiful place in the middle of the city. There is lots of Wildlife and good fishing.
Great park for walking, cycling, picnicking, and there is a play structure and a dock for fishing and a large dog park.
Way too many people and chaos to let dog frolick or enjoy the sunny day.
Great place for easy bike riding and walking.
Great park for running. So many great paths. Always a beautiful scene around every turn.
Gotta love the long trails! There is much to see and explore, specially all the critters and birds. Its a very good park to bring my toddler to release the energy. Definitely enjoy seeing all the seasons at this place.
As a dog lover and a photographer, this is one of my favorite spots to take the dogs and/or Portrait Photography. When taking small dogs, just be careful with other dogs that aren’t well behave. I’ve seen dog fights but not often. It’s such a large area that not much dogs do fight. Tons of opportunities to take pictures.
They have done so many improvements to the paved trails since I have been there last. Having several options to choose from helps with variety of workouts. We enjoy the generally flat paths. The trees and river are beautiful. This park is clean and safe, well used and much appreciated by the citizens of the Salem area. It is a real asset to the community. Well worth your visit
Such a great place for hikers, bikers, dogs, kids, bring the whole family! The dog park is such a nice open field, great for roaming.
Lovely place, so many trees. Expansive trails. You have to ride a bicycle to cover it all. My favorite it the trails along the river. Also, Min to Brown is now connected to River Front and Wallace Parks. You can walk all the way to downtown or West Salem and back via bridges from Minto Brown.
A Great big giant-sized off-leash dog park in the middle of acres of paved trails along the Willamette River.Sooo nice, but Please DONT tell every body so it stays nice and quite. ;)
We found Minto-Brown Island Park completely by accident just driving around one day with our two dogs. What a treat it turned out to be for all of us! Located down at the end of a long road that we turned down in downtown Salem. The park is HUGE and there are lots of lovely trails to walk. Even came across a pond or two with ducks. There is also a dog park, though it is not fenced in, so this dog park is definitely for dogs who won’t run off! We spent all afternoon there walking the trails in the sunshine with our dogs and really enjoyed ourselves. We plan on making this spot a regular place to go for walks on nice summer and fall days. ️
Minto-Brown Island Park is a great place for a leisurely walk or bike ride. Definitely check it out. Easy to get to off River road between Salem and Independence.

Best place to take the kids to ride their bikes for hours. Tons of fun!
Im not even a dog owner, but what a great dog park this place has!
Always love this park. One of the best things about salem!
Great park to explore, run/walk/hike around. Its proximity to south or downtown Salem is a major plus - makes it easy to go there for a quick breath of fresh air, or go for a longer exploration. Ive done 4d minute and 4 hour ventures, and always enjoyed them. Dog, kids? Bring them too!
