This park seems to be well maintained. It is kept up by volunteers on the neighborhood. Depending on the time of day this park can be a place of solitude. During summer break and in the late afternoon and evening there are usually others there. When I went today about 1 o clock, there was no one but myself there. This park offers a walking path, baseball diamond, picnic tables, a basketball and tennis court as well as playground equipment and swings. There is also porta-potty stationed near the basketball court.

Its a quiet park. Not very much shade by the play structure, but overall good for kids to play and kick a ball around.

Its a calm spot with a baseball diamond. A tennis court and a basketball court. They say at night you can see light bugs.

Play area is way too small. Kinda takes away from the word park. & the head neighborhood watch guy is way too weird. He approaches kids and tells them not to play for too much longer. & bugs the adults and threatens to call the police if youre there too long for his liking. Happened to me 4 times.

Im sure the volunteers work really hard to keep this place looking nice and they should be commended for it. However, it feels as though the city does not support it monetarily. The mulch hasnt been changed in years and the equipment has graffiti on it.

Stays clean. Great little track, bark dust so it easy on the shins. Also a neighborhood watchdog(neighbor) that protects the park at night.

This park used to be great many years ago. Now Im to scared to take my children there with all the little thug gang member wannabes around there and the drugs that are being sold and done there all the time. Last time my husband and children and I went there we were walking around the track they have well we found needles and many other things children dont need to see. I wish the state or the county or someone would fix this place back up and get rid of all the little wannabes out of there so our children and the many other families around there can enjoy the park and not worry about getting killed while walking your dog or playing with your children. We live two blocks away from the park and from the grade school we feel so in safe to even let our children go to the school there because of all the problems and all the 65 sexual predators around in three blocks its so scary anymore it used to be a great neighborhood not anymore hopefully one day it will be again.

During they day its a great place to walk you dog and take your children. At night it doesnt feel as safe. Better lighting might help as well as a camera maybe.

Santana Park was deeded over From Marion County Parks to the Neighborhood Association in Oct-2012 and a lot of good things have happened and improved since then. It is now a neighborhood owned resource and love to see all our neighbors in the park playing basketball, volleyball, softball, picnicking, walking their dog, playing on the playground. Well Done!

Neigborhood association took ownership of this park from the county with promise of improvements that did not materialise. Only thing added was a walking/running path that goes around perimeter of park that has not been upkept. Often muddy and ruts in parts. The little playground equipment they have is old and ran down from when the county owned the park which consists of a swing set with 2 swings and a ran down climbing structure with a slide. Lots of open grassy space though. No restroom facilities. Dont waste your time. Mary Eyre elementary is just a few blocks away and if not in session the playground can be used for the young ones.

How can we, neighbors, help or get on a list to volunteer at the park?

Santana Village Park was once just a field with a slide off in the distance. It attracted nothing but crime and it was an eyesore to those that lived in the neighborhood. One act of dedication from a nearby neighbor took it upon himself to go over on his riding lawn mower and cut the grass and has ever since that day.Since then and thanks to volunteers in the area Santana park as been only improving It has many more characteristics and is filled with life. From only having a slide, the park now has up to date play structures, swings, a track/path for walking and jogging. There is a basketball hoops, tennis/batminton court, baseball field, horseshoe pits. You will also notice that there is a lot of acreage, which allows for other activities as well. While your at the park you can also find, picnic tables, a drinking fountain and there is even a single stall restroom.More improvements are on the way!! Check out the parks website for more information and to see events and activities that are upcoming!
