A breath of fresh air! We loved this park and it was the perfect day to visit. There was not a lot of people here, a quiet place to unwind and soak in some beautiful Oregon views. Hike the hill to the right when you enter the park. Its steep, but worth it! Careful on the way up, it can be slick after a rain. There are lots of trail to cut through the woods, all well maintained and easy to find you way. We loved the open field, spectacular views! Great place for kids. Bring a picnic and some lawn games and youve got a whole day of outdoor fun!

The park used to be a great place. Steep trails and beautiful scenery. Even when it wasnt closed at sunset it was a fun place to meet friends and a great out of the way spot to walk your dog(s). About 5 years ago the neighbors rallied to close the park at dusk and hired a security company to lock the gates from sundown to sun up! Now it seems that a locked gate is nothing more than an invitation to invade the park, as well as the neighborhood when ever they want! The people that come to this park have no respect for the people who live here. If they cant park inside the gate after dark they will park in front of someones house or even in a neighbors driveway or yard! They dont clean up after their dogs, most allow their dogs to run free (no leash) and chase whatever wildlife they come across! The county provides dog bags for waste but nobody seems to know how to use them! Private property signs are posted everywhere but these people dont care. Total strangers make themselves at home on property that runs along side the park and is clearly marked PRIVATE PROPERTY!! When asked to respect the rules and signs and clean up after their dogs these park visitors are rude, entitled and totally disrespectful! Whats worse is that these are the nice ones! The druggies and nature lovers leave behind their needles, condoms and alcohol bottles! Nobody seems to know what a garbage can is! My advise is this....if you want to take your dog or family on a hike or walk in an out of the way park..go to Minto Brown! Dogs can run leash free and the visitors there seem to respect the rules and each other! Or stay home!

Very cool park. Lots of fun trails to explore. It can be pretty steep, makes a nice casual yet almost challenging climb to the top. Bit of a veiw from the feild at the top. Lots of cherries and blackberries make a nice treat once youve made it up :)

Steep hick to top but very short. Lots of little run off trails but no signage. Ended up on a trail that went on private property unfortunately. Would be great for a night hike

Really scenic, though not super developed. It consists of mostly dirt hiking trails and bridges through dense forest, up to a huge grassy field, and past streams. The trail we took was quite muddy and flooded but beautiful. It was worth having wet feet to see.

Favorite hiking trails for sure. Love the atmosphere and the fact that all the trails connect. Good for chill, mild walks.Does get a bit wet in the winter, and the pond fills up.

The only old growth forest in the Salem area. Theres pavement if you dont want to get muddy shoes in winter, but better to wear waterproof boots and explore all trails. The trees are hundreds of years old, making this place sacred. Treat it with respect kids, and dont uglify it with your garbage. Not a huge place; walk around for an hour and youve seen it all. Request of those people that sit in the parking lot in their cars idling their engines: Please be considerate of those that are outside their cars actually enjoying the park. They want to hear the bubbling brook and the wind in the trees, not your engine. They want to smell nature, not your exhaust. Plus theres climate change. If you must park and run your engine, please do it somewhere else. Better yet, get out of your car and enjoy the actual park; its amazing.

Neat little place for a quick walk with low traffic. Some of the trails are pretty steep but worth the view. On a clear day you can see both Mt. Jefferson and Mt. Hood from the grass field at the top!

I have been looking for a quiet park with a forest feel. One, where I could take a brisk walk with inclines and declines. All while while visiting nature.Joryville park in South Salem fits my desires perfectly for an exhilarating workout devoid of the city.Parking is easy in the large gravel parking lot. A paved walkway greets the traveler with an opportunity to stretch out ones legs.Entering the park area and immediately to the right is a family picnic area with three tables. The park area provides a environmentally friendly toilet.A wandering stream follows the parks hillside border. A mossy road which follows alongside the stream. Up the hill to the right, is an area I didnt explore today.Seemingly large park combined with intertwining footpaths and foot bridges. More exploring to come as the season allows for the muddy paths to dry a bit.

Really really nice and out of the way for being right in town. Well in rich people Suburbia town. Love the trails had lots of fun with my family. I did notice quite a few unsavory people looked to be doing drugs of some sort. In fact other than me and one other an individual walking his dog I believe everyone had showed up there to do some sort of drugs. But its a big place with lots of trails so Im sure you wont run into any of that just make sure you keep an eye out for needles. With no police presence people will do what they want.

This is a fun park to take the kids for a quick hike. The loop is a steep one or two mile hike. There is plenty of parking and lots of horse pastures around the trailhead. There is a little area for picnic with a picnic table available. Theres no public restroom at this park however. This part provides an easy hike that is close to town and fun for all ages.

Nice, busy park. Lots of bees though, and when I arrived early I cleaned up several beer and pot containers. Trails seem undermaintained and are not marked well at all. I wish they allowed dogs off leash as theres plenty of room and hardly any parks nearby for it.
