Going here to watch a movie is not great but its not horrible either. Sure, its a little cheaper then your normal theater no, but there are some issues. The angle of the parking spots is not very steep so sitting in a car can be a problem. There are still people in the middle of the movie that cannot figure out to turn their headlights off and it messes with your vision. Lastly, go for the later showings because you want it to be as dark as possible.

Awesome spot with family to enjoy a good movie! The lines do get long to pay for your tickets, so I recommend arriving early! The spots were spaced out fairly good for the cars and snack bar lines are long as well so get there early enough for that too.I do want to add a warning - when the movie ends, there is no employee helping to direct the flow of traffic leaving. We almost witnessed 3 close-call accidents from drivers trying to exit and the lines leaving were twice as long compared to when we arrived. So be aware of that part.

This is the place to get away from it all in your car! They have dialed in all the best ways to keep you safe during covid. You can even order on an app and pick up your food. Price is good for movie and food. Also they have redone the surface of the outside theater (no more pot holes) but down side the bumps are not as high as they use to be. So if you want your back seat peep to see you will either have to get out of the car or find a clever way to improvise. Park further back?

If youre a movie buff and are particularly snobby when it comes to immersive cinematic experience, then you want to stay away from drive-in at all costs. This isnt an indictment against West Wind theater because in all accounts, I had a positive experience. However, I enjoy an immersive cinematic experience, and unfortunately, under the covid circumstances were in, this was the only way to watch a new release. Overall, the picture quality from the projectors was surprisingly on par with the regular cinemas; Im willing to bet they were even using digital projectors. But, the audio, just as I was suspecting, was worse than I thought. I was hoping that my car having premium surround speakers would mitigate the stereo sound, but unfortunately it did not.It was my first time in 30 plus years of my life that I got to finally experience a drive in movie. The process is relatively simple and uncomplicated. You get in line by car to purchase tickets, not unlike going through a toll. Once you pay, youre told what station to tune in to sync your vehicles audio with the picture, and then provided the number of the corresponding parking lot for your movie.Similar to a regular in house theater, if you want to get the best seats, or in this case, the best vantage point from your car, you want to get there early if its for a blockbuster flick. We got there literally 3 minutes before the movie started so the lot was pretty packed and, and we didnt have time to find the best available spot left, so we settled for the first one in the very back. I wish I could say this was similar to sitting in the very back of the theater, which is certainly the least preferred spot, but one where the viewing distance is still tolerable. Unfortunately, this position at a drive in, or at least at West Wind, turned out to be worse. The viewing distance felt like I was watching the movie through my smartphone sitting about 6 inches away from my face.My advice, get there early to get the best spot.

Its the drive ins. There really isnt anything else to say about that. Its the way the drive ins have always been. If you liked the drive ins years ago, it hasnt changed. If you have no idea what its like, go check them out. Its a lot of fun. Bring everyone you know and make a party out of it. Throw a futon mattress in the back of the truck along with a few pillows and a couple blankets and youll stay comfortable all night.

We loved it. Grabbed dinner, ate in the car while watching the movie. As a middle aged couple, it was nostalgic for us. The drive in experience hasnt changed at all over the years. Loud talkers in other cars, the smell of marijuana, and yep, a little cupcaking in the car. Priced at 8.50 per person rather than by the car load was different but its cheaper than a theater and you have the privacy of your own car. Its good old fashion fun. And we love it. Not in the best part of town and the traffic getting in is kinda messy, but a small price to pay.

1st time at a drive-in. Not ready to go to regular theaters because of COVID. Its very basic, nothing fancy. And I would add another star except the screens are dark/have too much black. But the sound from the car speakers is very clear and rich and the crowds were very peaceful. The tailgating was fun since it was a warm night. Overall a very good experience if you want to see new releases on a big screen.

Very solid staff and very well laid out. It was surprisingly easy to get in and out of the Drive-In, for I was expecting it to be more difficult. I didnt get a chance to try any of the snacks, but the line was socially distanced and masks were enforced. Its great to see a business like West Wind Drive-In accommodating the realities of the pandemic, and I felt safe during my visit. I will definitely see more movies at West Wind Drive-In, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Lots of fun. Absolutely family appropriate. Take a car you can be comfortable in. Easy entry and exit with guides to assist you. I took snacks. I brought a radio to tune into the station needed to hear the movie. Recommended to avoid battery overuse and needing a jumpstart. Its happened with others. There is no bad seat in the house. Bathrooms are ADA friendly, clean. Physical distancing and masks required in all buildings. The snack bar is very friendly and efficient in serving folks. Popcorn, hot dogs, and drinks available. Im certain theres more food options that I do not order. Remember where you parked your vehicle.

It’s okay. Easy to get into but their traffic crosses so someone in a big truck almost took out my little car.The movies are close together and they let people have very load speakers so you can hear the other movie over your own. They let traffic in during the whole time movies are playing so it was very distracting when half the movie was just bright head lights. You had to wait in two lines for the concession stand. They’re both about 39 minute wait times. Very slow and not worth the line, bring your own food.

I have always loved this place! Its gotten cleaner over the years :) Prices have gone up, but its still cheaper than a regular theater, and I love the double features. But what I really love is the experience of hanging out outside watching movies! Just a couple of small complaints... The lines to get in dont move super quickly, and sometimes the staff arent very nice if it looks like youre trying to save a spot for someone (which I dont know why they worry about it unless its full...). But overall, I always recommend for people to come check out the drive in!

They have a good selection of movies, and the drive-ins are a novelty on their own. I wouldnt recommend going if you or someone in your group is sensitive to marijuana smoke, however. The bathrooms are clean and well lit, there is a serviceable refreshments counter with the standard movie-going fare, and oddly enough, a sandbox for bored people of all ages to entertain themselves in.Masks ARE required in the concession area, and there are spacing markers on the ground and theater staff keeping watch.I suggest that - as the flicks tend to start around 8:00-8:15 pm/2000-2015 - one gets their party there by 7:30-7:45 pm/1930-1945, to beat the ticket lines and to get a prime spot for viewing. On Tuesdays, the tickets are much cheaper - going down to $5.50 per adult instead of the usual $8.50, whereas the childrens prices stay steady at $2 for kids aged 5-11. Children 4 and under have free entry.

You can tell which patrons that come often...I will be using some of their tips/tricks next time we come, like bringing a portable speaker instead of using the cars stereo system that ended up draining my battery. However, just like their website said, they have complementary battery-jump service. A friendly worker was at my car within 5 minutes and gave me some helpful tips for next time.

Great place, I love the atmosphere and freedom to walk around and privacy of your own car. However, as of the start of Corona the movies theyre playing are old. My friend and I had a nice time on what must have been 80s night or something, because we were lucky enough to see Jaws 1 and 3 on a Tuesday when the admission is discounted. The security guy was friendly. Both security officers made sure people social distanced. The only things that could have been better, were the 2 employees who could have had better attitudes. The cashier at the entrance really seemed to struggle with simple math, and didnt take the time to listen when trying to explain the change he was confused on giving me. It wasnt that busy but he just seemed unfocused. (Apparently giving him $21 for 2 people at $5.50 each, was too complicated). He refused to take the $1, and gave me back $9 change, rather the $10 I was hoping for. The other, was the female security guard. She had quite the chip on her shoulder when asking me to place my folding chair in FRONT of my vehicle and NOT to sit on the side by the drivers side door. The theater wasnt full, and I wasnt really comfortable with my vehicle behind me, but I moved my chair anyhow. As soon as the male security guard had come through, we were able to sit where we could hear the movie. I love this drive-in though, so it doesnt reflect on my rating because the movie quality was good and we had a nice time. Ive never had a bad time here, and am so appreciative of it still being open, an option in our city!!! Ill be going a lot more often too, now that I have someone who likes to join me. Although I didnt utilize the snack bar this time, I was able to see that they had it set up outside and looked like they had a few good options. Next time Ill head up the snack bar, too. Thank you always, for being an awesome drive-in!

The drive in movies are a great experience! Ive been coming here since I was a kid. They are taking COVID precautions: only letting so many people in to buy food, having an option to pre-order food, mandatory mask wearing, signs all over suggesting hand washing for at least 20 seconds, and more. The building is slightly old and so is the play equipment (currently blocked), but they have upgraded some things like the bathroom sinks. I love going!

Of course I love the drive-ins, but they really need to update their film selection. It seems like the same films since May. With a few here and there that were added. The screen was fine sound quality for the cars were fine The only thing was is that we had a lot of pot smoking a lot drinking around us which is a big no-no in there. There was a security guard that kept his eye on things however I dont think it helped. I could see the security guard being useful in a fight situation or people driving back and forth and weird other things like that. But as far as substance used or drinks being out in public... Its pretty much everywhere. The staff and the snack concessions area worked really hard! Ticket people were just as cool.

They care more about their pot smoker customers then they do anybody else. Last night I went to complain about the smell in the exhaust since everybody was running their cars last night and we couldn’t breeze and we’re passing out we went to tell the managers and they said welcome to Sacramento. Back the pickup truck in, spread out the blankets and pillows, grab some popcorn and enjoy snuggling with the kids and take in a movie!Open during the “stay at home” drama, safe and fun. Enjoy it while you can folks. It’s been rumored to close for the last ten years and still going strong!
