It can be very buggy and the highway noise is very prominent until the trail turns away from the road, but this is a very pleasant trail and lightly traveled (in my experience).

Probably my least favorite Saco hiking spot. I mean, it is the woods so stars for that but, turnpike noise dominates the short, mostly featureless walk. Its an out and back/loop hike through trees and fields before looping back to the parking lot. There is a geocache here and it is an easy hike for kids so it is a good place for families. If youre just looking for a way short, family friendly hike and dont mind the noise, this is great. If you want to feel a bit like youve escaped or hike often, there are better local places that offer a bit more serenity and terrain variation.
