Beautiful views! Its incredibly peaceful and calm here (at least on the Scarborough Marsh / Audubon side where these pics were taken.. its a very long trail.) There are typically other people and a lot of bicyclists that travel this part of the trail though, so its not the best spot if youre looking for some alone time with mother nature. Enjoy the scenery; its worth visiting!

The Eastern Trail is a lovely place to walk. Its very popular with biking. What I like most about the trail is that it is easy on and off. You are not committed to doing long distances, and can do it in segments, however if you want to go long distances you have that option.

We come here very often because its so beautiful and its right on the beach we can spend hours walking the trail and just enjoying the view. It is very clean and very well taken care of. We come here because we know that it is safe for the kids as well.

This is one of the best places to go when you’ve had a stressful day and need to get away. The Eastern Trail is a well-maintained trail that makes for a good walk/bike/ski and offers beautiful views of the marsh and its wildlife. If you’re a professional or budding ornithologist, I highly recommend you grab your best zoom lens and lurk out here a while. You’re sure to capture some stunning photos of a multitude of birds. I’ve also had friends see a rare seal in the area, too, but unfortunately I am cursed to never see a seal in my life.

Great trail for casual easy-going walks. Flat straight gravel path with no hills to climb and dog-friendly. Plenty of birds and stunning views of the marshes. From the Pine Point Rd. trailhead you can either head North into Scarborough or South (across the street from the parking lot) where the trail continues for miles and miles. Either way is awesome! Can get very windy and cold if you choose to go North through the marsh in the spring/winter/fall as its wide open so bring warm clothes.

Looking for a get away or just doing a little bird watching this trail will take you there. Bring a camera and some bug spray. This trail takes you near the flats.

Beautiful scenery with lots of birds and flowers. Trail passes through salt marsh and wooded areas. It used to be a rail bed, so it is nice and level. You can even bring your dog, just keep them on a leash

The saco marshes are beautiful, but go any length in any direction and there are a lack of sights to see. One direction brings you to a condo development, the other, behind peoples junk laden backyards. Was disappointed with the sack section, save the marshes.

Great place for a walk. It can get a bit crowded with other walkers. Most people biking are awesome and careful. Have encountered some mouthy brats that should ride elsewhere. But dont let that discourage you. Beautiful marsh views and lots of wildlife to see...take a camera with u!

What a breathtaking experience walking this trail. Well-kept and safe, we appreciate the diverse views walking in the Saco area. Cyclists are (mostly) polite, though most ignore the no cycling over the bridge policy.

Good place for a walk. A mix of woods and marsh. Lots of benches to sit on along the path. Smartly placed near shade trees. Weekday morning when I went it was very busy, lots of pedestrian and bike traffic. Decent size parking lot. Lot was mostly full on arrival earlier in the morning but a number of spaces were available later in the morning.

This is a great trail for kids, as there are many sections without any road riding at all. It is flat and wide. The section through Scarborough goes through a marsh which had great bird watching. The section into South Portland is congested and not as nice as the Saco-Scarborough section.

The Eastern Trail is a lovely mostly gravel rail trail that can be easily ridden on with a road bike or hybrid. It drains well after rain comes through so it can probably be ridden when other trails may still be wet.
