Great location to bring the family. It is currently under renovations but in a year it will be the perfect day/weekend getaway for the kids and military families. Amazing American history that should be seen by everyone. Can’t wait to see what else they have planned.
Its so sad that this place closed down Permanently. Ive been coming here almost every year since I was 10... for the past 40 years. Now, its going to be a bummer not getting to participate in the awesome festivities that they had there. Especially the Canal tour from the Original boat since it started... Which is still in fact still in the Canal. Plus the Fun Train Rine that went around the place . Anyway... As I said from the beginning ... Its truly so sad to see such a great historical place just be wiped out over night !!!
Last time I was there it was very run down and overflowing with knee high grass. The city of Rome has had an almost impossible job keeping it leased. The price to get in is two high for what there is to see. They should bring the horse pulled boat it was an asset.Rome should just tear it down and develop the land.
This is under new ownership. They are doing a lot of work there.
Looks like its closed and out of business.. steel cable across the entrance driveway
This is not the correct Erie Canal Village, it is about 4 miles away closer to Rome, NY....AND it is closed for business
Wish it was open still
Never open
