I love how many different trails their are here. We are able to explore with our kiddos different directions and see a beautiful view no matter where we turn. I enjoy going around sunset to see the sun make the trees look golden! I wish I had a professional camera to capture the beautiful lighting. The view with the water and wide Bay is also one of my favorite views in the East Bay.My 3 and 5yr old love running through the trails carefree, safe, and happy.
Beautiful wide trails. Dogs not allowed on the pier. Who knew they used to manufacture dynamite here?
Not crowded and well kept. Has really long trails for runs and bike rides. Most people were wearing masks. Keep in mind you have to walk about 20 minutes from parking lot to the pier. It can get quite warm in the summer since tree shade coverage is not wide spread across the area. You can still find some partially shaded trails.
It is a nice place to get out and do some trails, bike, even fish at the pier. There are two spots to park. Sometimes you have to pay to park, during summer. There are bathrooms.During COVID: no picnic areas open or fountains, masks required.Bring water and snacks.
Great little regional park with paved and gravel trails for horses, bikes and pedestrians. The latest section added a few years back extends the park south to the Richmond Rod and Gun Club, with picturesque trails running north along the water, extending out onto a long pier. Great views throughout the park, and 2 different locations equipped with picnic tables and facilities to hold barbecues, parties and other outdoor celebrations!
My girlfriend and I love walking with our dogs at this park. Plenty of opportunity for the dogs to jump in the water. Great views of San Pablo Bay. Two parking lots, the one I park at has restrooms and garbage cans. Highly recommend.
Always a nice place to visit for easy hiking (walking) with pretty sunset views.
You had to walk almost a mile to the pier and then there was no bites it was dead but for location view and possibilities on good three stars
Great place for hiking, fishing and family fun. Theres trails fishing areas, picnic areas, and then theres the peir overlooking the ocean waters. The bathrooms are neatly kept clean too. Overall this is a good place.to.visot with family and friends for outdoor activities.
This a great place for a nice brisk stroll or jog with your family. Its Al near the bay so it can get a nice breeze blowing. The trails are fairly easy to navigate if your a beginner and it beautiful.
Beautiful smells of eucalyptus trees after the rain
Really nice place. My wife and I loved the place.
This is one of the most beautiful regional parks in the area. There is a shoreline and shady wooded areas. It’s generally not too crowded and I’ve spent time walking, hiking, biking and jogging in this park. There is also a dock which some people fish at. I almost don’t want to leave a review because I like to keep this place to myself but it makes me grateful to live in this area. It’s an escape from the crazy traffic and rude drivers in this area. Calm, serene, gorgeous, A+
We loved visiting this park. We went mid week, so it wasn’t too busy, but there were a few people around. There are quite a few trail options to explore, but you could explore them all in an afternoon. We took the woods trail to maximize the shady walking time. The trail was lovely, with giant trees and even some wild blackberry bushes in the underbrush. It took about 5-10 minutes to reach the trail overlooking the bay, but there were nice sea breezes the entire time.Up near the bay, there is a playground and picnic area which would be great for kids. Overall a very nice area and I’d love to return.
Nice discovery during covid 19. Was looking for some nice place for weekend hike. It was bit far from my home but worth it.
Quit complaining about the walk and get some exercise! Unless you are incapable of walking a couple miles to the pier, there is a shuttle that runs early in the morning and ends around 3:30pm, about a $1 to ride. Fishing here could not get any better in the Bay Area (of course there’s those days nothing bites) . . Frozen anchovies catches everything at this pier, striped bass, sturgeon, halibut, stingrays, sharks. A crab net would be ideal if you hook on to a big stingray to pull him up and avoid cutting line, or having to walk all the way down the pier to take the hook out.
Beautiful sightlines of the Bay. Ospreys, Western Bluebirds, Night Herons abound. The park is big enough that you run into few people but when you do they mask up. And many of them have fabulous dogs. Altogether a rich experience. Thank you @ebrpd
Easy hikes on paved or compacted gravel paths. Lots of parking at the paid admission gates. Cars are $3, with extra for dogs. Theres a shuttle service that takes you around to a few places in the park. The main gate is staffed, but the other parking areas further south arent.Picnic tables with BBQ pits, washrooms, and a play area. Lots of grassland fields for kids to play. All dogs need to be on a leash ️
Huge park with lots of paved and unpaved trails. Tons, tons of dogs off leash, tons of people without masks, lots of kids on bikes. Bring your sunscreen. Beautiful bay views.
One of my favorite places in the entire Bay Area. I always spend an entire day here when I can and make sure I bring a picnic lunch. When I moved to the other side of the Bay, Im not here much and miss it but I make my way here every now and then. Rambling through the eucalyptus forest and strolling along the shoreline is very therapeutic. I always see families holding events here too--quite a popular spot. I recommend checking the EBRPD website to download the flora and fauna downloadable guides to learn something.
This is one of my favorite places for hikes with my kiddos and my trail runs. But lately seems like people can’t control their dogs, even though but says dogs on leash, some are not train and people don’t have common sense. Or just don’t care. A little girl was bitten just a couple of months ago and now I always have to watch my children’s back when we go for runs. Too bad
Beautiful scenes. Sounds of the tall grass rusting in the wind. Well paved main trail with lots of nice dirt trails to explore.
This place is huge, plenty of panoramic views. Best time to visit during early morning or before sunset.
Lots of chill trails and the view from the pier is pretty rad.
Home town area. Always good memories ️
Great place to walk the dog or go for a hike or run. my only complaint is that i wish there were more trail signs or maps around the park.
Great place, lots of paved trails for biking or walking and very nice fresh air from the eucalyptus trees.
Beautiful place, great views. Started ride over Richmond San Rafael bridge here. SF bay trail not marked, should be. Great ride
Good for walk... You can see the sunset time..in the afternoon the sun plays with the cloud and both create beautiful color.
IT WAS BEAUTIFUL... PEACEFUL AND CONNECTING...
Close to home and beautiful trails to walk or ride
Views great all around.Parking good too.Dog friendly and horse friendly..all ages easy to moderate hike
Love this park. Coastal paths, some beach access, and wooded areas that make you feel like you could be a thousand miles from the bay
Beautiful park to go for a walk with the dogs. Plenty of space in trails and properly placed signals to navigate the area.
Beautiful place to enjoy live.
Nice well maintained trails, lots of people but not too many
Ticks! Ticks! Ticks!!! ¡Beware! This place is infested with ticks! A great park to bring your dog (or not), Ive brought our dog here for the past 3-4 years, but last week the East Bay Regional Park District was hosting an event here (Whats Brewin in the Park), we ended up hanging out in the grassy area, something we never do, and when we got home our poor little pup had ticks! Her first time ever! The summer also brings a huge annoyance of other flies, mosquitoes, and bugs which can and has made our visit all the less enjoyable. Besides that, the park and trails are very nice. The sunset at the pier can be amazing! Dress and prep accordingly (for hella bugs!)
Nice walks, some flat others a bit of a climb... Good views and allows dogs.
Ive been taking walks in this area since I was a young boy. I love it and go every chance I get to unload any stress. Its the perfect place to walk and enjoy the scenery, peace and quiet.
Peaceful, beautiful, not too many people, perfect weather!! Bathrooms were clean, free to get in on Saturday when we went. 2 parking lots and entrances.
Surprised by how nice the park is. Well maintained trails. Nice spot to wonder around for a few hours.
Expansive park, great for long stroll or jogging and bkimg. Well-maintained trails and not too crowded
Always the best times here! The ocean scenery is wonderful and the park is glorious. I never knew it even existed until I met my boyfriend who lives in the region. As a boy he would run laps there. They have been making major improvements like new trails and newer restrooms and native plant restorations, etc. throughout the park and expanding the park as well!
Beauuuuutiful sunsetThe negative was the constant gunshots from the nearby firing range.
Great small park, limited parking but never too busy. Enough to do: play structure for the kids, a pier to fish, bike lanes, hike trails, bird watching, picknick places, benches to take a break and plenty of public bathrooms.
Great trails of mixed difficulty. lots of great nature to enjoy
Great place for your puppies
This place is a great place to come and have a quick run, watch the sunset see a bit of beach a bit of forest. I havent noticed the pests much at all here so if you dont want to chance it too much with things like mosquitos and ticks the layout seems prety good for staying away from brush. I like going down to the beach head and collecting a few shells. Also the sun setting in the little medow accross the parking lot brings in beautiful hues of gold and orange. I like it since its close to me and easy access. Only downside is unlike other parks, if the parking lot closes early this one you would find hard to park your car outside the lot. To enjoy that last hour of sunset time In the late summer sun.
Beautiful evening walk!
Wonderful views especially sunset. Great place to bring pets, the lower tail along the bay is leash free so the dogs can run free. Just be sure you dog is pretty friendly when off leash.
30min walk from the parking lot but a great walk. Not too many people which is a plus.
Great park for family and pets!
Its a wonderful place to see the beauty of our city
Beautiful and spacious park! Also it has some interesting history.
Miles and miles of trails, areas where you can have your dog off leash, swimmable waters
It’s so pretty here and great parking
Lovely but alot of people during covid
Beautiful open space with walking/biking trails, picnic site, fishing from the pier and more. Theres a parking lot and restrooms
This is a real nice place to go hike. Beautiful scenery with all the trees and right by the water.
Plenty of room for people to spread out and social distance on wide, expansive trails, from the shoreline and fishing pier to tidal marsh to eucalyptus forest.
Beautiful park, lots of trails to walk or jog. Dogs are welcome must be leashed
Ive been going to this park for 35 years... Before I can remember... And up to the age when I was about 5 or so. But Ive had numerous birthday parties here. Ive rode my bike as a kid out to the pier so many times. Ive taken my dogs there and I still go there to walk. Great paved trails. Great views of mt tam. I love the calm San Pablo Bay water. The pier is beautiful. Worth the Walk out to it!
Park is well maintained & clean. Problem is with people who ignore leash requirements & let their dogs roam without regard for other peoples comfort/safety
Lots of open space! Great spot for birdwatching, and walking dogs. Very clean bathrooms and well kept up paths after recent improvements.
Great place but people bring big dogs off leash, other than that beautiful spot to relax and enjoy nature. update they added lots of signs and most people have their beautiful dogs on a leash.
Beautiful park. Paved and unpaved pathways available. Dog friendly. Beautiful scenery.
This place is really good for walking, running, cycling or just go whatch the beach and its really a big place
So many places to discover within just a few miles in this place...
It was so pretty but it was a long hike the water is prettty good but you cant het in it
Great place to walk, jog, run, picnics, lots!!..beautiful shoreline scene! Makes you want to stay and enjoy natures best!
Great area for my dog to roam freely in designated areas without hassles. The staff is absolutely outstandingly fabulous taking care of the facilities for visitors & the entire park. They make their big job look, easy for us to enjoy such clean, well stocked, well maintained bathrooms, picnic areas, dog waste pickup dispensers, trashcans, everything. A safe & clean family facility.Thank you Park Crew. I really appreciate it!fountains.
The shoreline is nicely kept up with wonderful views. Everyone maintained 6 ft distance but over half of the persons out did not wear face masks
Wonderful park, and improvements have been added.
Beautiful shoreline. Great place to trail run with a nice mix of varying terrain. The views are so lovely!
Gorgeous scenery. Easy hike with a clear map at the parking lot. I will be back!
Clean grounds, great weather and the public bathrooms did not smell bad. Will be returning soon.
Great park with beach, pier, woods, meadow and trails. Nice for running, walking, cycling and fishing.
Nice set of trails thru eucalyptus groves that look out on the bay. Good place to walk the dog or ride your bike.
Gorgeous views of San Pablo Bay and beyond - what an awesome oasis on the edge of industry. The only downside is you can hear gunshots from the local shooting range.
It was a nice hike, the scenary was beautiful, i loved going to it and enjoying the fresh breeze.
Started taking my dog out here recently as an alternative to Miller Knox Regional Park. Beautiful, interesting place with miles of paved and unpaved trails. It has shoreline access and a long fishing pier. I love the views of the San Pablo Bay and the remnants of the former Giant Dynamite Company. Easy hiking for people who are used to lots of hills. From the lot to the pier and back is about 3 miles round trip with several trail options. Recommend for people who love fresh air and sweeping views.
Great place for walking your dog
The Bay Trail goes through the park. Portable restrooms throughout the park many with potable water. Many trails throughout the park and a fishing pier in the bay.
Beautiful park with wide hiking/walking trails. Green and lush in the spring.
Great spot for hiking.
Lots of trails to bike and hike. One trail leads to the pier, which gives you a spectacular view. Very quiet as well.
It was the longest walk to go pier fishing I have ever experienced. Dont do it unless you ride a bike.
Great place to get some exercise and great views
Best place to walk dog off-lead. Most fellow dog walkers are respectful of each other.
A gem of bayfront park thats close to everything. Very safe, lots of regular walkers with and without dogs. New atlas rd parking lot next to Amazons Richmond hub. Nice fishing pier a plus ( great views).
Very beautiful area!
Amazing place!; Great for a short run or walk.
