Its a beautiful place you in tune with God to outside its a blessing to see into walking out items of your limbs so God is good not give him the praise so it was I have taken thank God peace
Beautiful views of the river. Great jogging paths along the waterfront.
Yall need to take care of the river birch thats inside the walkway so help me gaia
Beginning at Semmes Ave. parking area, we followed the signs to the walkway under the bridge to the floodwall. We decided to take the 3.1mi loop vs out & back; crossing the Mayo Bridge to the Canal Walk and back to Browns Island and across the Potterfield Pedestrian Bridge to our starting point. Its an easy graveled & paved walk that offers a variety of scenic changes that makes the time interesting. Just know, the walk is fully exposed and could get hot under sunny skies. Once you cross the Mayo Bridge, look for a narrow path in the grass right before the floodwall. Follow it and youll come to the secluded trailhead for the Pipeline. This in an interesting walk above and along the James. Should be extra fun when the water is raging. Today the river was 5 ft below normal.
So absolutely beautiful and great for good long walks
I was walking in the park and this massive wave started heading towards me but luckily this floodwall did this counter move and I was saved. Thanks floodwall!
This place is amazing at night. My son is getting crazy if we visit here at night. this is well maintained trails. it is one of my absolute favorite views in Richmond and its easy to visit and not crowded at all. Good place to go for the walk.
Great views of Richmond!
I dont know what I did but wont pop up with you across the bridge or whatever the case may go to Rohnert Park have a good day enjoy yourself let me see whats going on you know its just a city with the flood wall I dont understand that Im going to get back to water money rains so thats a good thing you always nice to have a friend walk in the doors are made of concrete
A unique vantage point of downtown. Nice well maintained trails. Be aware of the water treatment scent, not overbearing, but definitely present.
The view is beautiful.
Love this place! It is truly beautiful anytime of day or night. The River access is fantastic!
Fantastic view of the downtown skyline from the top of the floodwall. In the evenings a variety of birds gather on the shore and on the rocks before roosting for the night, great for bird watchers. The park is within easy walking distance of the Plant Zero art studios and galleries, several restaurants and shops and not far from Shockoe Slip/Bottom.
Nothing exciting but I enjoyed walking the park.
Not really much of a park. City needs to spruce it up.
Very nice place to walk with. The family
Dramatically scenic spot ... if youre in the neighborhood, drop by.
Loved this place. It has an amazing walking and bike trail but even better is the abandoned paper mill next door. Great for grungy photography. I havent been at night but during the day the place seems pretty safe to shoot and explore. Just watch your step.
Rough place to fish
One of my absolute favorite views of the city, easy to miss as access isnt super viable from the road and parking is messy while they figure out the nearby parking situation but definitely worth the adventure it takes to get in there.
The Gloodwall Park is beautiful. The walkway is clean and the trees they planted are growing beautifully. Since it opened, many wildflowers have taken root and its quite colorful. I think the park would benefit from a waste bin, but otherwise its a wonderful outdoor spot.
Great fishing day today. Lots of shad and a few stripers. Beautiful weather.
Been my stress reliever for years now. Just grab a few refreshments and start watching the beautiful scenery
One of the best Urban hikes in the country. There are many historical markers and interesting sights all along the James River Park System. When hiking the trails its hard to believe youre the middle Richmond. Osprey, Bald Eagles and Heron are just a few examples of wildlife I have witnessed while walking the many miles of trails along the James.
Its a excellent place to visit to see the James River and I will come back again and again.
Great walk with the view of the city and James river. It may need some clean up with the abandoned factory and parking lot but it was a cool little adventure and it seems to be a great start of a running trail
Always a good way to get fresh air.
Awesome spot! Lots of fisherman out.
Great place but too hot. Be more fun if the temp. was better.
Fun place to run. Alot of fishing there as well
Its a nice place.. if the sound of a flowing river is soothing to you, then youll enjoy it. But its nothing too fancy.. has a nice walk you can take from downtown to Southside and a view of the downtown buildings. It also has some nice graffiti along the way. This is one of my favorite places to go in Richmond when I want to feed my creative and nature side.
Great place to walk and bike and see Richmond.
Nice view of the city
Its a small park, not much to see. BUT it IS a great place to park for the VA Capital Trail (.5 miles away), the Slave Trail, or the Floodwall Walk. 3 hr parking limit, but I havent seen that enforced.
Scenery is beautiful!
This park has a beautiful view of Richmond, but would benefit from being cleaned up.
This is the best place to fly your drone. The floodwalls is sick! There are other freestyle quadcopter spots in walking distance! A huge smokestack to dive, skyscrapers and our iconic Sothern States silo!
Great views of the city
Nice trail along the top of the floodwall. Great views of the city skyline and the river.
Beautiful view of the city!
They did such a wonderful job creating this Trail
Great view of the city
I genuinely love the experience of climbing up and walking over the floodwall, even though I swear it seems intimidating at first. I wish the loop for the canal walk and the flood wall were slightly better marked once you walk over the bridge but the views you get from on top of the wall are amazing. The surface is not always well-maintained and it can feel a little spooky in places, especially when the signage is missing but its a great walk.
This is a great place to take a nice walk in the city by the river. Youll get to see plenty of wild life and RVAs skyline. In some areas you may even ride your bike.
I love this area next to the river, especially the Pipeline walk. Downsides: its not handicap-accessable, has to be closed if the water gets too high, and its very narrow most of the way. But its right next to and even above the river. Great for viewing wildlife, kayakers, and people having fun.
Visited at sunrise. Lots of good pictures of the river and the city. Its always pleasant.
Cool place to visit and explore.
Some of the best views of the city and the James river. It connects to the T Tyler Potterfield Memorial Bridge and to Browns isle. Great running/walking/biking trail, but trail is loose gravel so roadbike might have some troubles.
Took my kids to see the fluid wall. They had alot of questions about fluid and being able to get on the wall helped them understand so much
Best place in RVA!
Nice paved walkway along the James River. Panoramic view of the Richmond skyline and perfect spot to catch a glance of some of the wildlife that lives along the water
Very nice panoramic view of Richmond.
It was terrible, the parking lot for the park is gated up. Can anyone tell me what is going on?
I enjoyed my long walk along the flood wall. Nice views of the river and downtown Richmond.
Nice place to walk/jog. Great view of the city.
It is a great park to go and explore a safe abandoned warehouse and get on top of the warehouse
Flood wall runs along the James River nice walk and nice scenery.
Nice place to walk around.
I live near the mayo bridge and I go fishing there all the time. Its an amazing place to unwind and get a glimpse of nature in a bustling city, such as Richmond. The rock fish season is coming in at the end of March, beginning of April and I am sure to get many great catches out there! Only problem for me is that people are littering like crazy over there and little to nothing is being done to clean. There is also the slave trail that is winding around the park that shows you a bit of Richmonds historical bits. Overall great to visit weekly if you live near the area and are tired of going to Belle isle due to the amounts of people. (:
So peaceful and quiet, great view loved the river walk
Took the pipeline trail to the James River nice adventure.
Well done richmond park system. Good views and walks
Having access to the James River as it roars through the city of Richmond is great
The view along the flood wall is beautiful and its great exercise!!!
The beginning of many great things
Nice views, some wildlife, good walking trails.
Absolutly gorgeous during any weather. The skyline
Always fun. Always beautiful.
Really cool part of town with amazing murals and history
A nice walk and view of Richmond.
Great river walk. Part of a larger trail system.
Good fun
Nice walk and good view of the city.
View is fantastic but not a lot else
A nice place to walk.
Lovely views
Awesome
Beautiful Park overlooking the city skyline and river.
Great place for a dog walk.
Great place to visit
You must go visit the trails
Treasure of the city. Go in spring to watch the osprey and heron hunt
Beautiful, peaceful, historic, educational and quiet.
Very peaceful.
Awesome place to take a walk
