This is a great little hike (about 1.78 miles if you do the loop at the end of the paved trail). Very well maintained! Lots of places to sit and enjoy the views! There are also lots of picnic tables to bring a lunch or dinner and eat while overlooking the great scenery! There are lots of signs along the trail to read and learn about the surroundings, flowers, trees and the history of the place, very well done! The only bathroom is at the base of the trail, no others, so plan accordingly.

I love that there are so many different trails you can go on to after the paved trail. It lessens foot traffic and you can be on your own. My husband and I hiked to the top of the mountain which was way steep. Bring lots of water! Beautiful place, nice river to cool off in.

Cress creek has lots of places to sit down on the way up the hill. After the trail ends you can actually keep climbing the hill but it does go into some pretty steep grade after that, I did make it up but it sure is a work out!

It was nice hike for our family. It had wonderful views of the valley and the river that our family really enjoyed. We took our whole family and everyone was able to walk the whole way. Our two year olds were tired by the end but they made it. Our kids really enjoyed the creek and excitedly showed us everything they saw.

Such a beautiful area. The trail is mostly maintained with the first section being a concrete path with wheelchair-ramp accessibility to the lower creek crossing. There are bathrooms at the trailhead and picnic tables at varying locations of the trail. There are not any trash receptacles on the trail so be prepared to pack out what you pack in. There are several points further up+ that offer amazing views looking out over the valley with the river being a prominent feature in the foreground. Be sure to visit the interactive information signs along the trail, clean up after your pet, stay on the designated trail, and most importantly have fun.

Cress Creek is an amazing beautiful trail that is easy to go up! Weve been there several times this time due to some help things we were able to push my wife up in a wheelchair to the creek. Review №50

Cress Creek is a great trail to get out and see a little nature without really roughing it. It should be reasonably easy for most all the family, although its uphill for the first half and downhill for the return trip. The trail is all paved until you get up to the creek. (Maybe 1/2 mile up?) Much of the trail overlooks the Snake River, so you can catch some great views. You can let the kids (or adults) play and cool off in the little creek. Once you hit the creek you can take either direction and follow the trails around the big loop.

Its a really nice loop trail with a neat lukewarm creek. Its fed by a small thermal spring, but you wouldnt want to swim in it. The path is sealed concrete about half of the way and is a mixture of stairs and switchbacks. Lots of animal sign and great views for such a short hike. The trailhead is easily accessible with any vehicle. We took our two dogs on-leash; traffic is moderate. I am a dog lover, but please remember to pick up after your pups! Great trail!

Not a difficult hike but beautiful in the spring! It is either paved or gravel road for the entire hike. If you are looking to spend an hour outside this is a nice way of doing so.

Mi
Review №79

Really pretty overlook views of the valley, South Fork of the Snake River. Can be really hot at times as the trail is exclusively on south-facing hillsides, but there are shaded spots along the way that are welcome. Wear sunscreen. Not a long hike, might be too difficult for elderly or really young kids though. Stroller friendly, nice trails, paved at the start. Kids really like the stream that pools up by a shaded bridge area about halfway up. At the halfway point there is an option to lengthen the hike by choosing a fork that loops further up the hill - longer and steeper, but even better views at the top. Or you can choose the fork that turns back down hill from where you came. Probably great for trail running, if I were into that sort of thing. Great, versatile, pretty trail for a diverse audience.

Great place to hike, however the parking situation needs to be looked at to accomodate the hoards of people that frequrnt here. Those who enjoy to go on nature runs this is also a good place to go in the evening/morning. There are a few trails to go down. They all bottleneck at the beginning and the beginning is the steepest part. Overall a very good hike. I highly recommend this place except for the crowds of people that show up

It was very nice. The trail is moderately steep most of the way. Its paved up to the creek and then its a wide gravel trail for about a half mile more before it starts getting a little more narrow and too steep for strollers. Lots of picnic tables and benches to sit on along the trail, as well as educational signs about the geography and history of the area. Dont plan on a whole lot of shade. We went on a Saturday afternoon (2:30 ish), in June and it wasnt very crowded.

I love this trail. Its paved for maybe the first mile and then gets pretty steep. You can find park benches, shaded trees and massive rocks for a picnic. Once you get halfway the path keeps splitting which makes you a little less confident but Ive somehow always ended up in the right spot. The view of Rire and Idaho falls is incredible. Its also a fun hike to do at dusk and see the lights from the top.
