Nice place for a walk or to stop and grab a burger or fish and chips, along the waterfront. The children’s play area is beautifully done. It also includes a few step machines for the adults, and nearby changing rooms that are halfway between the playground and the designated swimming area. I am not sure about swimming here, because of the duck population, but many do. I prefer other areas of the lake, farther from Boeing and just generally cleaner looking water.Tennis courts are nice and have a view of the water. Bird Island is also a tiny island near the swimming area. It’s a super quick loop with a few plaques that explain the history. The area is nice, close to shopping of Renton Landing and Gene Coulon does offer a lot that most of our Lake Washington spots don’t, including ample parking. It is one of the more accessible parks.*Some of my photos were taken on 9/12/20, during the intense smoke and fire season. It’s usually less apocalyptic.

I loved the smooth clean paths, super easy to walk on! The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful, plants are labeled so that you can learn new things as you go. Parking spots were easily available as well. The only downfall was that there is a no dog rule in place. I wish that rule would change because I would love to walk mine there.

Holiday lights this year were very low key. I dont know if we got there before they finished decorating or there are just fewer lights because of COVID. Only the docs were decorated, none of the traditional clams and other standing lights were to be seen. Also, in general the playground is closed because it is supposed to be replaced...when I dont know. Most people havent been minding the caution tape anyway.

Nice park, but no dogs allowed apparently. My wife and I took a walk down there with our little Frenchie, not knowing the no dog rule, and we were promptly informed by a passerby that this was a no dog park. Never heard of a major king county park not being dog friendly! Won’t be heading back unfortunately!

A great place to be at to spend the afternoon. The boardwalk is big enough that you can stop and enjoy the water without doing any acrobatics to let passers by go by. Ivars provides that authentic sea food experience if you are so inclined and lots of spaces for your furry pets to sniff around (leashed of course!)

Its pretty, but its definitely urban. Meaning, its got a couple restaurants in the park, theres a LOT of people walking around, enjoying the beautiful lake, and the scenery, and most are wearing masks, and social distancing. Theres a small marina, and a SUP launch site. And really - its a greatly utilized space. But dont come here looking for seclusion and solitude

What this park IS: Lake Washington views, grassy fields, shaded trees, piers, restaurants. What this park IS NOT: dogs, scooters, bikes, loud music. I have been a regular walker here for years. I have always enjoyed the welcome, friendly experience. However today, as I sat in my camp chair reading a good book near the boat launch an obnoxious pair of boats docked at the temporary dock and LOUDLY blasted their music for at least half an hour before I left. They were disrupting everyone sitting on the public tables near the two restaurants- where were the property security agents to move them along? On the other hand, I finally saw an animal control officer today enforcing the no dog rule. I love animals but I prefer walking without them. Dont bring your dogs to Coulon Park! Leave the bikes and scooters at home also!

Very nice looking and well-maintained Waterfront Park in the Newcastle Renton area. This place is much larger than you would expect, nice walking trails that go on for a considerable distance past the General Park area. There are also two main large swimming areas with Docks. They have a huge boat launch area and there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view and watch all the action. For food, they have a kidd Valley hamburger restaurant here as well as an Ivars Seafood Bar restaurant. The Landing shopping center is close by with more food as well. They have a lot of parking here for both cars and boats, plenty of restroom stations as well. Great place to roam around and enjoy the summer day.

I have mixed feelings about this park. Its honestly a really nice park, with lots of parking, walking trails, waterfront views, a beach, docks, etc. But it is not dog friendly, not even on a leash.
