I love this historical area! It is one of my most favorite places in Prescott. I love the history and the big trees. People are always hanging out in the square and its dog friendly. There is tons of shopping and food all around. I love that they have so many fun events there too.
Tree lights were pretty. Gazebo was decorated nicely. A bit disappointed that fountain didnt have a Christmas tree over it. No Choirs, no Readings from the Bible on Birth of Christ. Also Parade was cancelled.
Its a great people watching area! Tons of different folks, people bring their dogs, its a super cool Hangout if you have time to just chill. theres also a lot of events there all the time especially on the weekend so its a cool place to just relax. They should have some kind of rule where you can walk around with beer or wine drinks and that would just make it absolutely perfect.
Loved it out here. Didnt exactly go to the court house but wss in the heart of downtown press out and loved the scenery here at night it was sooooo beautiful with a big emphasis on so beautiful on the night life.
Courthouse Plaza in Prescott is one of the best historical places in town. It also plays host to many amazing events all year round. Next up will be the Christmas Lighting Ceremony.
I love sitting in this setting. It is such a throwback piece with the courthouse in the tall trees and the grass. Its also a great place to do some serious dog watching. Everyone seems to have a dog and theyre strolling around the courthouse. The restaurants around here are awesome. Its worth the trip just to bring your lawn chair and sit in the center of the coolness.
Cant lose with steak and eggs and biscuits and gravy and grits and baked apples and coffee.Very friendly staff, clean and well spaced seating. Very affordable for portion size.
This is a great place for a cool summers evening. There is lots of food options available close by. There was a live band the night we were there. So some good music, people watching & we had a warn cozy stroll in the park. You should try it with someone close to you sometime.
The Labor Day Fair Was Wonderful most of the vendors were awesome and Extremely Friendly. Some of the vendors came from out of state with Beautiful Items. They will be back in October check it out Youll find something for everyone even food.
The plaza is super pretty. it’s a nice place to bring your dogs and/or have a picnic, the gazebo is quaint, and there’s a marked history of the events of the last 200(i think?) years in prescott.
Such a lovely courthouse surrounded by shady, mature trees with shops and restaurants across the street. Absolutely charming, full of character, and history. Great for taking a stroll, walking dogs, or browsing the nearby businesses.
Their outdoor setup for craft and food sales is great. Recently viewed an outdoor play and it was great. The flow of everything and the consideration for hand washing, sanitizing etc is superb.
Loved. Our dogs love the park and parade.Kids collecting fallen leaves and jumping into them. Family times, lunch in the park.
This was a great getaway for the hubby and I. People were friendly and everything we needed was within walking distance. Would definitely go back again!
Beautiful green grassy treeded area with places to just sit and people watch. Didnt rate it any higher because they have restrooms but close them on the weekends.
Beautiful green grass and clean for the most part. During the day I was bothered by only one homeless man who wanted to know the time.Security guards near by but never asked him to leave. Peaceful at night although I could do without the constant banter of an elderly conservative republican anglo man preaching his political views out loud to anyone who paid him mind. No thank you....
Fun walking around town reading about towns beginning as they put up christmas decorations.
Its a nice historic area. Good place to walk the dogs, eat breakfast, and drink coffee. Everyone you run into is friendly.
Reminds me A LOT of my hometown, SonomaCalifornia and we have a much larger Town Square that we call The Plaza or The Square but I it here as my once again (I am TRULY blessed)...Home away from home
Always fun in Prescott. They had an art fair. Fun food and food to look at all the stuff for salebfromnwll the vendors.
I lived on Montezuma for about 9 months and Ive never really went to the plaza I went there last night there was a live band about 2,000 people on chairs and blankets in the grass it was a really nice experience today I drove by about a two or three hundred people on the grass just hanging out enjoying life its a nice place to to be
A great family historical chill spot with a retro feel. Kinda has the feel of the town square from Hill Valley in the movie, Back To The Future. Love it.
Screw government. I would be happy if this and every building like it in America disappeared.
Very fun site and lots of great small buz shopping around the square.
This place makes a really good pie.they dont skimp on the toppings and the ingredients are fresh. Also our waitress did a great job taking our orders and made sure our drinks never ran out.Would definitely go back
Only saw it from outside. We were there on a weekend visit. Did enjoy the arts festival taking place outside.
Greenest, coolest place in town of Prescott. Old West Town feel around the square. Many dog walkers, so be aware of the poo potential of the negligence of absent my minded owners. Clean bathrooms available. Recommend
Stroll around. Not all businesses open. Public restrooms.
Historic downtown Prescott is steeped in old West lore and charm. Shops surrounding the square are unique, with many local artisans displaying their expertise. Great places to eat. ATM available on Gurley St. Post office across the street. Library near by. Sharlott Hall Museum within walking distance. Bakery, Italian food, Sandwich/cheesecake shop, Pizza, Bistro, Thai, BBQ, all surround the area.
Great open grass areas for the kids to play. Really nice people as long as there isnt a protest going on.
Great place to hang out especially on a beautiful day when the weather is 20 degrees cooler than Phoenix. Great for a picnic, people watching, or walking the grounds and around Whiskey Row...
Very pleasant to hang out and walk around. Lots of shade to escape the hot rays of the sun. Cute little stands of art, jewelry, etc. (some of the prices a little ridiculously expensive but there are a few things that are affordable to the average Joe). We will definitely came back especially when the weather is cooler. LOVED IT!
Prescott was fun!! They were having a bluegrass festival as we were driving up to the Grand Canyon. Stopped for awhile. Very friendly town and fun event!!
Pleasant place to visit and wonderful during December.
Love this plaza for its HUGE shade trees, soft grass, central location, and restrooms! Its surrounded by many saloons, restaurants, art galleries, and shops. Their free annual summer Bluegrass Festival is a MUST DO, where there are headline stage musicians, but best of all, small groups and individual guitar/mandolin/bass/violin and other instruments who sit/stand around the north/back of the plaza and jam away! Bring your chairs and a picnic lunch and have an outstanding day! The TREES are the major feature of this plaza, however, the courthouse itself, the sidewalk of flags, and some large commemorative statues are also noteworthy.
Great music and perfect weather. Love the people here!
There is nothing much going on right now at the courthouse Plaza due to Covid restrictions. However, tourists should know that the only public toilets in this area are on the west side of the courthouse. Most other toilets are locked except to bar or restaurant patrons. One item of interest is a timeline of Yavapai County history embedded in the sidewalk on the north side of the courthouse.
So beautiful! Lots of shade and benches. Perfect place to enjoy the beautiful trees
Nice morning walk around the Prescott Courthouse
Come to prescott often. Love this place. Dont change and dont expand
Beautiful upkept walkways, park, and bathroom. Perfect for a car show.
LOVE walking the square!
Great place to relax on the grass under the trees. Walk your dog and visit a local shop.
Love this historical building, great shopping, fantastic food, friendly people. Downtown Prescott is always amazing.
Great place to hang out, have a picnic on the lawn, people watch, and get out of the heat. Dog friendly too!
Historic place. Public restrooms. Well-maintained.
Absolutely awesome! Green grass, lots of trees for shade, beautiful dogs & people walking around, & awesome vehicles driving by!
The perfect all American toen square. Really the place to go in downtown Prescott
Very nice place to take your family for a pleasant shaded walk Also great music in the summer! Get some ice cream at Frannies and spend some quality time with your family here !!!
Love the history displayed in the military listings, the statues and the date painting
Always fun to walk around and people watch.
Still waiting on the Alley of whiskey Row to get some upkeep and redesigning. But it was nice
Weather was nice! Crowds were minimal.
Such a beautiful and nostalgic place. I loved how many people brought picnics, children and dogs just to hang out and enjoy the grounds. So quaint!
Historic building and park. I didnt go inside but beautiful building.
The Jewel of Prescott. A place to walk your dog or yourself, enjoy family time, eat your lunch purchased from the many restaurants in the area or sit and read or people watch. Enjoy live music in the evenings in the summer, or be in awe of the Christmas lighting. It is Arizonas Christmas Town.
Though the plaza is a nice place to visit, just no place for people to charge their devices while visiting.
Always a fun experience in downtown Prescott! The courthouse has such a historical charm.
All in all its great. Really nice staff throughout except for a RUDE security guy at the entrance. Big bald guy with a snide and condescending demeanor. Left the place feeling ill.
Theres a feeling you get When visiting Prescott and this place should be the first stop and the last stop before you leave town. Its hard to put into words the feeling you get when visiting this place. From actual peaceful and serene atmosphere to beautiful green grass and shady trees to calm attitude of friendly people, on any give day see artists painting, guitar playing or people walking their dogs. The courthouse itself is something to see straight out of a historic movie moment! You have to experience it for yourself to know what Im talking about, Something of a magical and a enjoyable experience I assure you.
Great pizza and a wonderful caesar salad.
Traffic is horrible but its nice to walk around. A few shops and restaurants
This place is so beautiful you must go there so much to see and the weather is perfect I would totally moved there ️
Lots of fun. Plenty of grass and shade.
Fun place to take a walk look at some art or get a nibble and a drink .
First time attending the Christmas lighting. Traveled from Wisconsin just to see it...well worth the trip.. Beautiful..
I do not know why the city closes the restrooms over the weekend doesnt make any sense. A lot of people are enjoying the square and no restrooms??
Nice setting to have lunch and people watch.
Nice art fair.Wonderful entertainment
Beautiful place to just hang out and relax
Great!Love the square and the stores.
When close we always take the opportunity to walk on the grass and enjoy the breeze. Check weekends for special events.
Beautiful park with lots of activities...religious, political, cultural. Sad though, smoking is allowed and very prevalent.
Lots of activities going on down there really nice place to hang out
Walkable, scenic, the spot to be year round.
Beautiful setting, evening concerts in the summer, nice folks.
This place is always a pleasure to visit. Beautiful trees, wide open spaces, a relaxing place to be
Beautiful & peaceful setting for a leisurely stroll or just to sit and watch all the interesting people & dogs go by.
Wonderful selection of crafts. Well spaced.
Always a beautiful place no matter what the season. Really has that small town charm and feel.
Very well maintained and interesting. The timeline on the sidewalk was very cool.
I was very fun and exciting but had very little social distancing. Few people whereing masks, but all owners of the consetions had to where masks. I liked that.
Lots of people at the square tiday for bluegrass music. Its so beautiful and dog friendly.
Nice parklike environment at courthouse near center of downtown Prescott, Arizona
I love how theres always something going on there entertainment wise. Its a main hub in Prescott.
The crown jewel of Prescott is the courthouse. It is tranquil, and enjoyable as community members spend great time here.
Gorgeous, dog and family friendly plaza. Theres lot of shade, many picnic tables, and public bathrooms.
I love coming here just to sit in the shade on the cool grass. I always get the old times vibe, like the clocktower square from the Back to the Futuremovie.
