This is a great little zoo! Our girls loved how close we could get to the animals. Everyone was really friendly! There is no hot food served in the park and only snacks are available. I wish I knew that before we arrived there! They have a huge playset and the kids had so much fun. You can see the whole park in about 3 hours so its great for an afternoon activity!

This place was wonderful to visit. It is so clear that everyone that works there truly cares for the animals there. The animals look happy and the grounds were very well kept. Every animal there has a story and we are so thankful that places like Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary are around the help. The staff was also so knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. If you are in the area it is so worth the trip!

We love visiting for our walks. The staff and volunteers are always very friendly and offer amazing stories and insights about their current animal residents. Our children really enjoy visiting as well, and they range from 1 to 18. A great place to wander around with wonderful informational talks! I cant wait to visit for your holiday events! The gift shop is always fun to check on our way out, Ive found some great books and gifts there.

Went here with the kids and enjoyed it for about a hour or so and then we saw the zoo. The price to get in is in line with what you will see. Adults $10 kids $6. A lot of the enclosures were empty with what I found out later are empty due to animal deaths and a fire. Need more animals.

This animal sanctuaries absolutely a fun adventure for all ages. You may not always see each animal as the sanctuary is more concerned about caring for the rescued animals then putting them on display. They are afforded plenty of shady privacy if they need. ️They do have zookeeper talks and feeding times when you get an even better view. There is a petting zoo with goats for the little kids, playground, fountain, large grassy area, and plenty of picnic tables to enjoy your stay.I highly recommend you go and enjoy this treasurer and Im sure you will go back at least yearly as we do.

Disappointing visit for myself and family. We had arived to the park late because the two lane highway to Prescott had a 1 hour delay, not the parks fault but if your driving the same road, remember to plan an extra hour for road dekays. There is no alternative routes available and in AZ everyone is entitled to be rude and drive like jerks, thus causing accidents and delays. When we got there Bob at the ticket counter informed us that the park was closing in 46 minutes trying his best to dissuade us from entering. The cost if admission is reasonable for the value about 10 for adults and 6 for the kids, but in no way was Bob empowered to offer any discount due to the time restriction, or a sense of humour about my request for a discount. Thanks for nothing Bob.While this is a convenient place to visit if you are in the Prescott area, it is not worth making the trip from the Phoenix area solely for this place. The displays are limited to around 20 and very little employees were found to discuss the animals and learn more about them. Miraculously employees did appear at closing time to chase you out if the park......I am not so sure as to why, as it looked like the animals were getting fed around then, and that is surely the most exciting part of a zoo trip. While clearly not required by the zoo,Masks were worn by myself and the family, but do not expect Prescott locals to do the same, thus I had to deter my children from getting 5 minutes on a playground set that they were really excited to see. A Church of sorts had taken it over with around 20 adults and kids who have trust the Lord to protect them from Covid.Still thinking about protection, the zoo offers none in terms of any team member being available to wipe down displays or tanks that had been touched by other visitors.....quite disappointed in this, and wish they had shown some level of responsibility to the safety of the visitors.Me and the wife had a chuckle about how we should have just stayed in Phoenix and visited 1 of the zoos available locally, unless you have other business in Prescott, I would suggest the same.

A smaller zoo in the heart of Prescott featuring reptiles, arachnids, small cats, wolves, birds of prey, deer and so much more. It was so much fun to walk around and see everything up close. Each enclosure has a plaque showing the name of the donator(s)/group, which was really great to see the community support for these wonderful creatures. I normally don’t have any opinion on gift shops, but this one was really nice and the staff is all very friendly. This will be added to my list of must-stop places each time I’m in the area.

I placed a call based on and injured rattlesnake that cannot make noise with his rattle. When they did call me back I was told that I should probably take him down to Phoenix. I find this absurd. The reason I used to work there and the reason I give this zoo so much praise is because they take in Sick and/or injured animals and take care of them. This snake is not only injured but he is unsafe because he cant alert anyone to his presence. I think a zoo that is ran through taking in injured animals should be most interested in this snake not tell me to waste my time and resources to travel to a different location when they have the resources and power to bring this snake back to health.

While not as big as zoos in other cities like Los Angeles, this zoo offers a wide variety of animals to look at and many diffemt services. A great place to go any time of year but would recommend summer time. I went during December and while many animals were out, some were gone because of the season.

Kind of depressing to look at the animals in their enclosures. Some of them are so small I consider them cages instead of enclosures. The poor bears and big cats barely have enough space and the large birds have to room to fly. Not to mention that they keep their lizards in sand as a substrate (causes impaction in the digestive system and causes death if untreated) and barley have any enrichment for their reptiles/invertebrates (coming from a reptile keeper). All in all, not worth your money and it’s miserable to look at the animals in small spaces in blistering heat (it was 93 when I visited).

As animal lovers this was a very disappointing experience, the facility hasnt been maintained well, and if youre going to house & care for animals the water in the exhibits should be fairly clean or even existing in the pools. Most of the animal exhibits had animals hiding in corners away in the small section of shade in the rear of the exhibits out of view.None of the drink machines along the walkways had any drinks in them or functioned properly. When it was brought to the attention of the attendant he said; we dont own the machines and weve called them.

4.5/5 I come here every year, and I still find it exhilarating to come. The only problem is its a little small, but they are expanding it every year. They have more animals than most zoos. Small but clean and fun zoo. Felt a little too small, but for the price, were planning on returning next time were in town. I loved the story about the tiger they have - and in fact, that they are a sanctuary and not a typical zoo. The close proximity to the animals was also nice. Two of our favorite things: Tiger feeding at 11 am (6 days a week) and goat petting/brushing area. Our toddler really enjoyed brushing the goat - it was super chill and gentle and we didnt worry for our kids safety.
