This park is wonderful for hiking.... just my speed - easy! Its really woodsy &lots of park benches for resting! No charge for parking. Its a circumference trail. I did that trail just under an hour. And the views are spectacular! I will return!
I love Acker Park. Quiet little getaway, while still being in the city. Great views and lots of trail options.
Great place to take the dog for a walk. Not alot of people, and beautiful view from the plateau
Great easy hike. Can do a 2 mile loop. Not much shade so go early. Beautiful views.
Rugged and not too many people on trails at the same time. Great place to walk the dog and nice views.
Great place to walk the dog. I am traveling all across the USA as a full time house / pet / farm sitter, currently I am in Prescott for a dog. The house I am sitting is just a few blicks away from the Acker Park, so we go there hiking often.I think it would be a nice place during the summer months, with the picnic areas, benches, toilets etc. Now in November, the trail is still nice, as are the vistas, but the park seems winterized. No water is coming out of the water drinking fountains, so I assume it has been winterized.A few more waste bins on tne trail would be appreciated, though! When going up, I have to bring fluids with me, due to the extremely dry air in Arizona (that I am not used to). I have to keep carrying it all with me, as the only option to discard the empty containers is at the entrance of the park.
Beautiful little park on a giant hill! Great for viewing the sunset and picnics! Several benches throughout. It is a big hill so hiking it requires going up it to get to the good areas, but the trails are flat and easy. Dogs MUST be on leash. Please do NOT litter!Note: Visiting during the day is the safest as this park becomes quite wild at night...plenty of Coyotes, Javelinas, Cougars, Bob Cats, Deer, Snakes, various bugs such as Tarantulas & Butterflies, Squirrels, Rats, and Bunnies frequent this area! Ive seen them all here! Be aware and stay safe. Respect the wildlife!
Less than 200ft in total elevation change. Short spur trails offer unique views (water dam, ridgeline with 360 views, etc). Many famous naturalist quotes on signage, numerous trail signs. This is the quintessential urban trail which makes you feel like you are in the wilderness. Experienced hikers seeking exercise will finish in about 30 minutes, sauntering sightseers an hour to 90 minutes. :-)
Nice hiking paths and a decent spot to watch fireworks
Convenient often uncrowded several trails with views.
A pleasant in town park
A Very Lovely park for dogs.
Ideal for easy hiking and great views of cozy, little Prescott, AZ.
I like walking the trails here its a nice little spot. The view is great at sunset and there is benches to sit at the top.the cops should patrol here more though. I find heroin needles in the parking sometimes and in the cemetery up further. Im positive there not for insulin even with all the old people that live in Prescott. One other huge problem at this park is its a gay cruising spot for older guys.it makes the vibe very creepy.where do they go to do there sex stuff?in the bathroom? Off the trails? Thats the creepy part.homeless either sleep somewhere at the old drive in or off the trails cause I see them go up the street to the park but I cant ever figure out where they go.other than that great place to hike!
Not a lot of things here. Quiet and peaceful.
Great place to hike with a loop trail and lots of hidden side trails. There are several entrances and one of them does have a water fountain for both humans and dogs. you can also find a trail map. the road next to this place also leads to the history odd fellows cemetery. However, beware of the vagrants and bums that illegally camp at the place.
Beautiful park and a perfect hike. About a mile which is perfect for, most anyone. We really enjoyed it.
Nice view we got to see a night time
Good place to walk the dog and stretch after a long trip
Good hiking trails.
Perfect short hike no huge up clines or down.Scenic Rock and Dry Creek areas with a couple of picnic tables also.No nighttime camping just open during the day.
Nice hiking in the city.
Awesome views
Great place for peaceful reading, birdwatching, or a nature walk with kids. Easy to navigate with restrooms close enough for a 3 yr olds bladder. Small playground with 2 ladder like bug shaped climbing structures and a t-rex spring rider
Had no idea it was there. Too bad theyre building a road right next to it. Basically through it
Good trails with steep and shallow terrain to get a good cardio workout
I like walking in the graveyard and checking out the old headstones. A lot of history there.
Very nice for walking trails. Lots of gay guys cruising though
Its a quiet tiny little park. Its a good place to go chill or hit the trails.
Nice easy hiking trails. Great views of Prescott from up top.
I love acker park!
Beutiful place real close to down town. Minimal facilities but nice trails
I like the park I always walk my dogs there I like the fact that theyre always stocked .with the doggie bags
Quiet place to take my poodle and enjoy some photography.
Great place to walk
I would not go alone if you are female.
Its a little hard to find, but its a great park. There are bathrooms, gross as they are. There is also a Ramada with grills (technically needs to be reserved, but Ive never seen anyone use them)
Awesome place to hike
Excellent loop trail system offering pleasant hikes with views overlooking Prescott.
