Love this trail. Not too difficult. Peavine runs into Iron king. Peavine trail offers views of the lake and dells. If you go when the cliff rose is in bloom, you get your aromatherapy while you hike
Nice walking. Easy parking, take fold up chairs and find a shady place to enjoy a breeze. Chirping birds and water in the creek in the spring time. And dont forget to take your water!
What an adventure! If you go hiking, make sure to pack more than you think youll need because my boyfriend ended up running out of water while hiking (due to our own inexperience) Luckily, we ran into a fellow hiker who gave us some water. Thank you guy! You saved us! We climbed up and down the dells to get back to Watson Park and made it right on time, right before sundown (the park closes at sunset) Got a lot of good pictures on the way.Everyone is friendly and we enjoyed our visit! We look forward to seeing the park when the construction is finished!
Great hike! A lot to cover and great scenery.
Absolutely stunning and the trails/pathways are easy to find.
Great place to hike or mountain bike. The Peavine trail is an old railway its wide and pretty easy grade its about 7 miles from Prescott to Prescott Valley (double check the distance yourself) it is mostly red ciders and decomposed granite. It has great views and the boulders are fantastic. Off of the Peavine trail the City and volunteers have some really great trails check the city maps for difficulty.
Lots of pretty trees. Deers and bunny rabbits
Beautiful and shared escape from the city! I heard the lake water is tainted from public sewage that is dumped in it from upstream, but as long as you dont go in the water, youre fine!!!
Decent place, a bit hot and dry with bugs. But very pretty.
I like this place because you can hike, bike, or walk. There is almost always a nice breeze.
Many native trees grow here - including local willows and cottonwoods - creating an oasis in the middle of this crowded central Arizona community. In addition to the flowing Granite Creek, a nearby pond is maintained, creating habitat for even more native flora and fauna. A network of paths let you explore the vast park, crisscrossing the stream over bridges and circling around the pond. Many birds - especially migratory species - call the forest home. On the recent morning of my visit, I saw blue grosbeaks, summer tanagers, hooded orioles and yellow warblers in addition to flycatchers, titmice and wrens.
Nice easy walk, lake scenery is beautiful
Easy hike beautiful trees espectacular views of lake rock hills and green hills take bug repellent if youre going to be stationary

Just go here before the houses ruin it!Beautiful to hike and explore!!
Great place to rent kayaks and fun walking trails. Area is beautiful and peaceful.
Hiked the 5 mile loop around Watson and was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful scenery and a little challenge. Definitely geared towards beginners in spots but a good workout for even us long distance hikers. Come check it out and only pay $3 to park!
Great place to get outside and enjoy what Prescott has to offer!
When the lake is up the beauty of the area is just unbelievable. Great place to go kayaking especially in those cool winter afternoons
Good place to stay in family for camping and hiking.

Check out the Peavine Trail. Beautiful area!
Its a really peaceful place with beautiful scenery
Great views, and auditory show put on by nature, with some smooth trails. Perfect area for a run, hike, photo shoot, to go birding.
One of my got to places to trail run. Not to crazy but its a good workout in a cool area.
Diversity of wildlife awesome place
The county refuge station is such a lovely site, I truly feel that all out of state visitors and potential residents should visit, just to get a more broad spectrum of what local residents consider trash. I do swear as the post office is my witness at just how people toss away bicycles that require very littleMaintenance to give to the many homeless or better yet a needy child, that is the part of WATSON WOODS I had the pleasure of being in today.
Neat little spot. Worth visiting, a liitle climbing, great views
Beautiful lake surrounded by large granite boulders and a great area for bird watching. Highly recommend the hiking and biking trails!
The really big trees are very beautiful its very peaceful walking under them and exploring off the trails
You must take family. bathrooms, hiking, kayaking, biking, walking and picnics. Totally worth an afternoon. Do check their events page first. A lot of events are hosted here.
Jewel. One of my favorite parks. Any way you can get to the stream is recommended. Such beautiful landscape, well maintained. Spring and the wildflowers is spectacular.
Had I know it was $3 to park your car so you could walk on an old asphalt Trail I wouldnt have come. I didnt see any mention of it being a fee area on Google.
Peace and quiet just outside of town.
I was on a Search and Rescue mission. Was very impress with the beauty of the area and all the trails.

Love it####:great lake awsome view
Watson Lake Park: Red Clay Rocks, ( Known as A Mini Sedona) a Dam, blue water, kyacing, ducks, geese, boating, camping, Fishing, swimming, hiking trails, disc golf, huge, picnicking, dog runs.... :D } }}
Parking at Watson Woods isnt free, theres a nice spot to pull off ths road between the two paid lots but no place to sit
Watson Woods is not Watson Lake Park. This is a nature reserve just south of Watson Lake along 89. There are walking trails through old trees and streams from Watson Lake. Really nice in the summer time and when the lake run off is high. However this is not the area to fly a kite as another review suggests. Watson Lake Park has huge open areas for that. Come to the woods for walking/hiking trails.
