Nicely done small museum of the cowboy west - bronze statuary, many paintings by western artists, nice gift shop.
They have a great variety of items along with very complete descriptions. Well definitely return since there was too much to take in in one visit.
Very nice for a relatively small museum. Set up well. Take the guided tour (free) if available. Lots of local history and stories.
They only let dogs small enough to pick up. We have a very large, but well trained dog. It was too hot to leave our dog in the car so we didnt go in
The Cowboy art section was wonderful, the other side was a fundraiser with photos and lithographs and non professional artists work for sale.
10 years living in the area, and I visited this place. This is a Cowboy art museum with a large variety of artists. There was less local art than I invissioned...but was a neat experience. All college students revive a discount, 5 dollar entry...how could you beat it. Check this place out, its worth it.
Beautiful and so informative and interesting. Nice relaxing and the staff is eager to help. Wonderful collection of art!
Our band played there today. We had a great crowd and the staff were awesome.
Open 20 years with a fabulous permanent collection of western artists works complemented with pieces from private collectors.
Really nice Western art work, our Chicago friends liked it too.
We had a great time. Saw some wonderful paintings and bronzes. Had a chance to visit with old Prescott HS classmates and meet some new people.
If you love the wild wild west, you will love this museum. They change displays frequently. So stop in a couple of times a year.
Amazing bronzes, western paintings, nice docent introduced rooms then let us explore on our own, nice gift shop.Large area closed off from viewing, supposedly setting up new show (couldve let us in IMO as we could peer around curtains).
My husband and I loved looking at all the exhibits
Interesting art great to look at, however staff is rude
This art museum is a very nice spot to visit and take in the history as well as the various depictions of western art in multiple forms.
Loved this museum and art gallery! The horse exhibit that we enjoyed in August was spectacular, so glad we stumbled in at the right time! Beautiful facility and setting, a must see! Cant wait to return.
We had a great time, they have a great selection of art.
What beautiful artwork their building is awesome their statues are beautiful, great day spent their
Great art, terrific presentation.
Lots of information about the old wild west Prescott. Also many beautiful paintings and cool items from that time to see
A nice unpretentious museum with Western and Cowboy art. A couple of galleries are the permanent exhibits and one area is for rotating displays. The facility is very nice and situated so that even the main exit and windows in the gift shop look out across the Granite Dells and serve as frames over a picturesque Western landscape. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly with information not just on the Phippen, but on other museums and cultural attractions in the area.
The current Desert exhibition is wonderful including some nice Ed Mell pictures.
Great museum, and the docent was really knowledgeable and obviously passionate about talking about the region and the museum. As a plus, one of the local artists, John Coleman, was there signing books and we were able to get a personalized signature. Go on a Saturday if you want to have the tour with the docent.
First visit, truly impressed!
We. Visited a few weeks back. The docent was incredible. She explained the history and how the bronzes were made. If the desk clerk had not told us about it we wouldnt have know. There should be a lot more publicity. Please do more
Well organized, just enough to see where it doesnt get tireing.
Nice small museum. Friendly staff
Nice horse exhibit currently showing in addition to the permanent collection of cowboy paraphernalia and paintings/sculptures of cowboys and natives. Two preserved workdesks one of which was Phippens. Small museum but for Prescott, its pretty good!
We had a family reunion here a week ago and it was wonderful! They rented out the space in the basement for us and food was catered in. Afterwards my immediate family stayed after for a little private tour of the museum. Very knowledgeable staff and very interesting and beautiful art. One of the reunion members forgot a camera and our tour guide even drove it out to our hotel (as the museum was already closed) a few minutes away. So generous!
Stayed 3 hours enjoying everything.
This is a fabulous asset to Prescott Arizona.
If youre from California you will love this place otherwise theres about one wall that is interesting
Take you guests ... wonderful western artwork and history.
Great as usual
Very nice museum. We were there the weekend they were switching out exhibits so we only got to see half of the museum, but what we saw, we were very impressed with. Nice display of cowboy artists, interesting to read about them and see their work.
Nice meeting facility
We went hiking in the Dells across the street from, the museum.. It was a FANTASTIC AFTERNOON for a Family outing..
Loved the mini sale and show!
So interesting. Im not from AZ so learning about the history here is so helpful to me.
Fun awesome step into western history. AS A discount, 12 and under free
Very nice people, very helpfull
Always enjoy the art every visit. Rotating art so always something new to see.
Beautiful museum of western art. A few typos on the discriptions do not distract from the exhibits.
Only spent an hour but liked it a lot. Looking forward to more visits
Fantastic. I need another day to see it all...cheap admission, too. So worth it...
Nice place
Beautiful museum, great artists, worth the visit.
This is a wonderful museum.
Great gem for checking out art capturing the spirit of the wild west. $7 admission is a bargain
Wonderful taste of the West. Skilled artwork and programs for kids. It is a comfortably sized museum.
An interesting private collection of Southwestern art. Also a wonderful hiking trail
Excellent presentation on early melodramas in Territorial AZ.
Friendly and knowledgable staff.
Awesome, amazing collection
Small museum, great Western art exhibits
