Google “the bourse tenants” to find a hint of what happened here in recent years. The Philadelphia Inquirer mentions multiple eviction notices served. Philadelphians had to close up shop here, many of whom were immigrants who took big risks to start their small businesses.Washington, D.C.-based MRP Realty owns this place. If you want to support soulless real estate companies and help them accumulate vast amounts of wealth, be my guest. If you don’t care about Philadelphia and the people living in it, be my guest. I can’t tell you what to do.So... take a walk through here, sure. Take in the history. But I will never spend a dime here. Real people’s lives were ruined.

Except for the spice shop when you first enter the building, you wont find any stores here. What you will find is a great selection of food, drinks, and desserts in an open environment. Nicely decorated for Christmas, youre sure to find something that will please everyone from Italian to Hawaiian. Grab a drink at the bar and for those with a sweet tooth...aww those desserts. Sufficient seating and moderately to high priced.

This place was very hip and trendy. The only thing that confused me was the individual hours of each vendor. I went in during the open hours and only 3 vendors were actually open. I also think they could use a few more places as many places looked unopened. Lastly, they close at 6 on a Sunday, which was weird to me considering they are essentially a collection of restaurants. The food we did get was very delicious!

Wow has this place changed over the years. This was my first time back here In over 10 years! The Nostalgia is definitely gone. I didn’t even recognize it when I walked in. I was bit disappointed that there is no deli in here. No place to get a good lunch meat sandwich. No fast food places in here either which is not a bad thing. Very trendy if you like that! I did have a great cheesesteak at Marino’s!! I’ll have to return to try some of the other eateries. No cheap meals here either so come prepared.

Theyve definitely gone out of their way in updating ground floor for The Bourse. Gone is that generic food court feel of yesteryear, replaced with a variety of botique restaurants, small shops and ample seating for food and drink. While each establishment deserves its own review, I thought that there sheer number of choices available in such a condensed space was impressive. The only downside of its central location is the prices. Its clearly oriented toward the capitve audience of the Center City lunch crowd. That aside, if youre looking for something unique, its definitely worth a visit if youre in the area.

Rebel Taco – Bourse BuildingTuesday afternoon and we stepped out of the office looking for tasty lunch. Rebel Taco in the Bourse Building fit the bill. The newly renovated Bourse Building on 5th St in Center City Philly is the home to several soon-to-be Philly Favorites including Rebel Taco.Decorated like a Mexican sidewalk restaurant, the Rebel Taco offers clean counters and condiments as well as fast service and deliciously authentic Mexican food served in a box ready to go or to be eaten right at the counter. There is adequate seating both at the restaurant and in the court out front. Rebel Taco is easy to find if you stay to the left when you walk in from 5th Street.I ordered the Pulled Pork Naked Burrito with a fountain Coke. Only later did I realize that they also offered Jarritos soft drinks which pair nicely with Burritos. And of course there is beer – which also pairs nicely! My lunch without a tip came to $12 which is about average for lunch for the area.Rebel Taco is a great stop either as part of your tour of historic Philadelphia or as a refreshing treat during your normal work week. Great food freshly made and served hot – it’s perfect!TheBillo313

This place overall is disappointing, it is like the hipster version of The Redding Terminal. When you walk in they have security that fiercely enforce the no outside food or beverage rule and will make you dispose of your water bottle. During lunch hour or on the weekends there is a lack of seating availability since most of the tables are long picnic tables, so many people avoid sitting directly next to each other making it hard to sit together with your group. The food here is interesting but some restaurants are weird. A lot of the food is overpriced and expensive, while some dishes seem innovative none are particularly delicious. The food is overpriced at all the stands. The meal I got with a drink was $15 and was unfortunate and my boyfriend got chicken tenders from a different place and that also costed $15 AND the restaurant refused to sub his coleslaw for fries. Both times Ive come here Ive been disappointed and irritated. My advice skip this place, there are plenty of better options in the city that are a better value for your dollar- or visit a true classic The Redding Terminal Market.

A ghost town of a food hall. They actually have some decent choices here, but also half of the stalls are closed, so it feels like eating in a slowly shuttering suburban mall that lost its anchor stores. You can get a bite and a drink before a movie at the Ritz, but I wouldnt bring a date here. Kind of feels like hanging out in a bus terminal.

Went for “the ultimate happy hour”. One place’s happy hour price was their original price for food, not sure why it was listed as a ‘happy hour’. One venue said they do not actually participate in the happy hour, even though they are listed with the reduced prices. A lot of the places listed on happy hour were closed or partially closed (they turned off their frier before close). The food was pretty decent, but I’d much rather go to a sit down place for a happy hour that has it all together.

I went to the bourse last week since they renovated. The building preserves the historical beautiful architecture with a touch of modern updates that pairs perfectly with the businesses located on the ground floor. I came here to check out the taps fill station and get a bite to eat with a date. The bartenders at taps fill station are bubbly and happy to provide recommendations. I had asked why they don’t post their updated draft beer selections and was told that they are daily updating what they have on draft. As a craft beer enthusiast I appreciated the honesty and completely understand why they don’t post their daily draft menu. They have different glass size options available so you can pick and choose the beers you would like to have at one time. Their glasses are really cute. You can take your beer from the taps fill station and walk around the marketplace and eat from wherever you would like in the hall. There are so many dining options to choose from and some that are going to be opening very soon. Everything smelled and looked delicious from all angles. The bourse has great hours of operation, weekly events to check out. I cannot wait to come back already!!! Please visit the Bourse and give some love to the local businesses inside!! They are wonderful hardworking people that put their passion into their food and service. This makes you want to come back with a smile and help the local economy.
