The East Falls Bridge is one of the many jewels along the Kelly Drive Schuylkill trail. Always peaceful and the sidewalk on the bridge allows for such beautiful views year round.
Photogenic afternoon hiking destination overlooking the Schuylkill River in Fairmount Park. Park at the free WaterWorks lot. At a leisurely pace, you can stroll along the river up to East Falls Bridge and back within the 2 hour parking limit (about 4.5 miles round-trip). The steel truss bridge is a classic beauty. It was built in 1895 with intricate detailing on the railings. From the bridge, you can see back to Laurel Hill Cemetery and watch the river boat action. Saw my first outrigger boats. The river walk and pedestrian bridge are dog-friendly. East Falls restaurants had outdoor seating and several welcomed bikers. We will be back.
A beautiful structure Bridge it Lies Over the Schuylkill River. A beautiful scenery of river and the landscape of its surroundings. A relaxed atmosphere and parking is available.
Love it Family orientated. Kids can ride their bikes without the dangers of cars speeding by....
Just a bridge with a weight limit for trucks over 3 tons. Nothing too special in my opinion. It does have nice lights though
Its a nice bridge. Has sidewalk for walking or bikes. Beautiful view of the river.
Nice place for a walk down West Wiver Wive.... The fall is beautiful...
Great to see a great view.Near MLK drive. Ride your bike on the weekend.
Was nice but when riding with kids riders zoom past you at about 15 20mph a bit scary for a 3-5 year old riding be careful if with children
Such a gr8 view at anytime of day even the walk along the river is a gr8 time killer down along (BHR)Boat House Row during the evening is the best time in my opinion when the houses are lit up. There are always people either fishing or just having small gatherings. Gr8 for a family plan or a date with your partner. I usually go with my fiancee to take our two dogs for a walk which they love to do. I recommend for you to check it out n make your conclusion but I guarantee you will enjoy your time
Good place to turn off kelly drive and take the more scenic side of Fairmont park back to the city
A nice place to walk around for exercise
Nice, old, well constructed bridge with fancy metalwork.
The East Falls Bridge is sometimes a destination and a sometimes a turning point and sometimes a milestone. Do we turn around for a short ride, and then sit by the rocks or the river and eat a snack, or do we go on up to hidden valley drive or the Bala Cynwyd bike trail from Manyunk. Half the time, I have no idea until I get there what will happen next.
Functional elevated roadway and sidewalk facilitating easy transition for vehicles and pedestrian traffic from bank to bank of the Schuylkill River
Nice view and great for biking across between MLK and Schulykill path
Amazing bridge. Lets you cross the river without getting wet.
Beautiful scenery perfect for a bike ride along the drive.
This bridge is too short and scary lol. Its one of a few ways to cross over to west Philly so there is no way around it. I wish the bridge could get some cosmetic help. It looks like it was once nice looking.
Very beautiful scenery. Went with my gf to watch sunset
Nice place to run.
Nice bridge that I bike over. The bike lane is not too narrow but at the same time it is not too wide as well. The light never changes on the east side of the bridge if you are planning to bike or run over there. It is very annoying and they should fix up the light situation. Other than that, you get a nice view of the schuylkill and I like biking across it.
Its a bridge. It connects Kelly Drive and Martin Luther King Drive whilst spanning the mighty Schuylkill River.
Beautiful place relaxing at night
Love ther
Very nice view
Been coming down here for years just to ride my bicycle.
Caught a nice flathead catfish
Beautiful place
One of my favorite bridges in Philly, altho morning traffic getting across can suck, big time. Still, I love the shape of it, and the way the design is softened with all the curlicue ironwork.
Great walking spot.
This bridge connects River Road/MLK Drive and Kelly Drive in East Falls. Its a bridge, it does its job. Its not particularly picturesque, but sometimes, when the river isnt brown and horrible looking, you can take nice pictures from it. It has good access for pedestrians and cyclists, in addition to cars.
Functional but there is always always always traffic in the morning around this bridge.
How does one review a bridge? It appears to be doing its job since it was built in 1895. It would be good place for a statue of Catharine Macfarland. She was the first woman fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and the first woman president of the Obstetrical Society of Philadelphia. Thanks for the opportunity to share my thoughts!
Can use a stop lights. Instead of no left turns between 7 and 10 a.m.
Its all just part of the best trails in Philadelphia area! Bike or walk, just take your trash with you!
Nice bridge lol
Historical Bridge... Built Strong.
Its a bridge. Not a bad looking bridge. Not overly exciting. Nice location off of Kelly Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
Love running in the area with this bridge as a milestone!
Fun. You get to see nature and get a nicw walk in, too.
Its a picturesque bridge that gets me across the river at the right distance for a good ride on a weekend.
Functional bridge but cool architecture.
Great place for cycling love the Philly area. Only thing is traffic does not show no love to the bike line.
Always a great alternative to 76 for getting to and from the City line area.
Love this bridge! Links west Philly with north Philly!
GREAT ATMOSPHERE
Gets you fron the East to the West of town conveniently
Got me across the river, looks nice
Love to bike up there from Market Street
Great bridge, I love driving over this to take MLK through the park towards the Art Museum.
Its a lively older structure... landmark in East Falls
Its an old bridge. You can walk drive or bike over it. Does its job well.
Rib architectural bridge, one of the beauty of Schulky River
Amazing view. Always clean. You see police officers and state troopers around, so dont even worry for the safety.
This is a good bridge that does what a bridge should and allows you to cross a river from one side to the other. It is a very convenient location for runners who want to make a loop up and down the Schuylkill River without just backtracking. On weekends, the drive on the west side of the river is blocked off to traffic and makes a very nice path for recreation use.
Great view of the city and the water.
Great place to sort through whats important and whats not. Meditation spot.
Cool spot nice an chill
My shortcut home 2 Chestnut Hill by way of Lincoln Drive
Great area to cycle.
I Love this area you can fish, exercise, get a bite to eat or relax in the park (Kelly Dr. or Martin Luther King Blvd.)
Beautiful old metal bridge
Great place to get some peace and quiet
This is a great bridge.
Slightly Rusty but serves bridge purposes.
Helps cut my commute time tremendously when theres traffic on the Schuylkill.
Its a short cut through the city depending on the time of day
I mean its a pretty nice bridge as far as bridges go
Just an old bridge, but go there during Golden Hour and enjoy some of the most beautiful river views in the whole city of Philadelphia. The traffic control scheme (when driving) leaves some to be desired, though.
A classic iron bridge spanning a beautiful river.
Nice looking bridge, convenient
Part of Philadelphias charm
Lovely piece of history
Whats not to love about this bridge?!
One hell of a drive!! A+ will youse bridge again.
Season difference watching good
Its east falls bridge, how many stars you think it deserves
Had to cross the river somewhere
Need some serious work done
Love this place
Pretty
Very historic
Nice area for a walk or fishing. It is very scenic.
Historic Philadelphia bridge
What is there to say about a bridge...
Nice view
Well kept and convenient for runners to cross. Never reviewed a bridge before and I dont know what else to say...
Terrible traffic in the morning turning left onto the bridge from Ridge Avenue (same backups happen at night from MLK). But it is a beautiful bridge that is nicely lit at night and provides a great photo opportunity.
Beautiful historic bridge. Love having it in the neighborhood.
Beautiful view
Bikers beware sidewalk is narrow rose take the street and watch for the cars
The bridge isnt that great but the area along the river is very relaxing
Its Bridgey.
Cant believe there arent 100 accidents here a day
Hate the traffic on this bridge
Get nervous every time I have to wait for the street light to change.
